RIP Scott Wilson who played Hershel. This was the last scene he ever filmed for anything. He was a great actor!
i cried when i found out he died almost year years ago from now
RIP to the legend 😔🙏
@@locomojoboy2 watch In Cold Blood movie from the 60s
@@locomojoboy2 he also played in g.i Jane
This isn’t true. His final scenes were filmed for a TV show called the OA
This episode was the last acting role Scott Wilson did before passing away in real life. 😞 R.I.P
T______T
That hershel scene gets me every time knowing the actor died a few weeks before the episode air 😭
Yeah it was very well done hope Scott Wilson is at peace in some way
You now they could've brought Shane back in a lot of different ways. The man who wanted to take Lori or the savage survivor he turned into. But instead, Shane was brought back as the best friend of Rick he used to be, I thought that was nice to see.
I cried during the entire episode. The acting in this show is amazing.
Shane’s scene was perfect. For yrs I wondered what Shane would think about Rick killing joe so savagely and then butchering Gareth and when Shane mentioned both this episode I was so happy.
same. I even like how he mentions HIS daughter..
It is Rick's near death fantasy. His regrets. His grief. His trauma. Everything being manifested. That is not really Shane as in - his soul from an afterlife or something - he's dead and that's it. This is all Rick.
@@arcticwolf6402you’re not wrong, however, I think that was still what Shane’s opinion would have been. They were brothers in everything but blood, I’d wager to say Rick knew Shane better than anyone, even if he went off the deep end.
Yeah, it was ricks subconscious speaking to him, but I think that piece of his subconscious was a piece of Shane that he’s carried with him since the end of s2.
Like Siddiq said- the only thing that remains of the people we love, is their ideas.
I know I’m a year late but I had thoughts lol ❤
Hershel's actor sadly died not too long after that scene was filmed which just makes his appearance even more upsetting
I think the saddest part about hershel coming back is that this was the last thing scott Wilson (the actor who plays hershel) ever shot before he died and what a beautiful scene it was . Glad he was on the show one more time before he passed away 🙏
I love the scene with Shane so much. Rick's death's door dreaming is all really affecting, but it really got to me how much he still misses Shane, even after what Shane tried to do to him. He never stopped being his brother.
" the third man changed everything didn't it?" Damn. Just imagine how things would have played out if Rick was never shot and went into that coma.
movieman175 honestly he might have been dead a lot sooner. I feel like he wouldn’t have been forced to be as strong as he became. Probably wouldn’t have met Morgan. Wouldn’t have had to kill Shane most likely. I don’t even think he’d have met Glenn. So much would be different.
@@flaurprod So in a twisted way Glenn would maybe lived, not going to CDC with Rick and following him every place, up to the groups meeting with Negan. :O
When Rick told Hershel that he was tired, i felt like he was talking from a real life perspective.
I took it that Rick was just tired of waking up every day knowing Carl and all the others who he knew that died a long the way wouldn’t be there like they were prior, and that rick was just tired of killing walkers, settling disputes in the camp, talking to Negan etc.
You guys got to experience the element of surprise where we got "And now, Rick Grimes' final episode!", they told us!
"JEALOUS!!!" 😕
Fun fact: the hospital scene was ricks last scene filming. behind the camera Norman reedus the actor playing daryl was tickling Andrew lincoln's feet the actor playing rick. He did it as a little prank LOL
I was like.... I recognize this... It's David Tennant's farewell tour in Doctor Who..... "I don't want to go."
nowadays you breathe you risk your life, said one of our best older survivors ever
when hershel puts his hand on rick heart, that is what got me
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure Scott Wilson improvised that on his own. So beautiful
Hershel was a father figure to Rick
Omg, This is one of the best episodes of the entire series
Also RIP Scott Wilson(Herschel's actor. He died before the season 9 premiere
*I guess everyone who follows your TWD reactions was anxious for you to get to this episode! The actor who played Hershel died of cancer before the episode aired but he got to watch his part after the producers edited it and he approved it. For us who watched TWD on TV, it was a very emotional episode not only because of what happened to Rick, but also because Scott Wilson had just passed away and we didn't expect to see Hershel again.*
That Hershel flashback really did make me tear up the first time
Been waiting for this one for a long time. Can't believe we are finally here.
You are so right! Welcome to Goosebump City
Can we talk about what a good boy that horse was to wait around for Rick like that
I mean, he did kinda cause his injury
Did y'all notice in the Hershel scene that he had both of his legs
The Hershel scene broke me.
Yea Herschel got us all, especially since he died right before this aired. Literally the last time we saw him is in this light, this essence. Chills.
It is a beautiful shot
That moment when you go to bed excited for a reaction the following day.
RIP Scott Wilson - what more can you say.
I remember S1/E1 where you were like I don't know if we'll like it, not really into zombie stuff & we were like it's so much more than that, it's a rollercoaster of emotion that gets you hooked... 6:50 I think it's got ya ;)
Scott Wilson was the best! I miss him so much. Did you noticed when he put his hand on Rick's heart and when Rick woke up his hand was still there. This is a powerful episode and Hershel is a guiding light. RIP Scott Wilson. Forever in our hearts😥❤
@Monica Mcnutt omg I have watched this episode more times than I can count and I never noticed that the hand was still there when Rick woke up!! I absolutely love that. So beautiful. Scott Wilson brought Herschel to life in a way that no one else could have. Love the character and the man so much. May God bless all of his loved ones that lost such a wonderful presence in their lives.
The biggest moment of the series! Great reaction!
This was acually the last thing Scott Wilson did before he sadly passed away almost one Year ago😔😔😔😔
Mrs. Anna Dixon it’s been over a year! Bless him! I believe he passed October 2018! This episode Aired November 2018! Rest in Peace! ❤️
I've been waiting for this since the first episode...It's an absolute masterpiece and it never fails to make me cry.
Why do i literally live for the husband saying "jeez or jesus"
Fastest mouse click of my life. This is in my top 3 episodes of the entire show.
I don't know how many times I've watched this but gets me everytime 😭
14:50 Did you notice the lingering effects of Hershel's (Scott's) hand on Rick heart as he come out of his hallucination with Hershel? I personally think it's a tribute from the cast & crew showing the affect & effect Scott Wilson have on their hearts & minds. I always thought that was a nice touch (no pun intended).
BTW...I didn't realize how much I missed Shane's asshole-ness until he appeared again in this episode. lol
RIP Scott Wilson. Forever loved.❤️
Hershel 💔😔💔. Hands down my favorite character. Thank you for your reason behind the hand lingering. I felt the same.
@@leila7132 😊
S.I.P Scott Wilson aka Hershel 💐😢
Anytime he ever needed strength, Rick always thought about Shane. He always drew strength from Shane’s memory. Same with Herschel. Anytime he needed to think through a situation he always drew wisdom from Hershels memory.
RIP Scott Wilson! That scene makes me cry every time.
Maggie did make a good point. Michonne would have shown no mercy to Negan if Rick was murdered like Glenn was.
I have waited ALL WEEKEND for this!! God, this episode had me all fucked up. 😭😭😭😭
Fucked ALL of us up.
The episode we’ve all been waiting for...
Great exit for Rick...
Stabbed in the exact same part of his chest where he was shot...
Almost all of his past coming back to say “Keep going”...
And then a big kaboom...
Andrew Lincoln, take a bow.
You know this is getting serious when you start to see Shane and Hershel again. Bring on the feels 😢
I love the shane scene
I haven't watched this one since this premiered and wow, I forgot just how amazing it was. Excited for you guys to see where the show goes from here!
This episode had us all in tears. We know exactly how you feel, Hershel and Rick... Maggie and Michonne. The acting was sublime.
Glad to be on this journey with everyone...again lol..
Rest in Peace Mr Wilson. I dont get sad and cry about the passing of my actors, but you were one i did. i loved everything about Herschel.
Scott Wilson died the day before the season 9 premiere. He never say his last role air.
they did show him the footage before
My absolute favorite episode!!!! Every time I see this episode I cry!! And it’s awesome to see your reaction.
9:19 See Shane was already what rick became haha , I wonder what Shane would of become throughout
The best episode ever. Hands down. Slightly beats out 408 Too Far Gone for me. I love how Rick hallucinates the dead characters in his past to motivate him to keep going so he can find his family. And for all the Scott Gimple haters out there, this episode's story was put together by Gimple and Matthew Negrete. Not written by, it says "Story By..." in the beginning of the episode, meaning that in essence this was a standalone episode for him and Negrete to put together mostly on their own. So if the guy is such a shitty writer then how did he make this masterpiece and all the other masterpieces throughout s2-s9? XD
Sounds like your salty, Gimple made up the awful trash people who weren't in the comics and he was gonna ignore the entire Whisperer story arc, he got replaced by Angela Kang for a REASON, he was dragging the show down, the viewers were dropping and fans were getting mad and since Angela Kang (who has been there since day 1 fyi) she brought new life into a show that was going downhill, the numbers, AMC, the fans, they all prove demoting him was the right decision, he won't be showrunning this ever again, sarcastic XD.
Cool you guys posted this episode one year since you started the series.
Awesome, been waiting this reaction like Moon to rise!
For a departure episode, this was the best episode Rick could've gotten!
its looks like there no way out, but its our legend rick grimes, He is OP as shit :D
been waiting on this episode since you guys started the series. very emotional but it’s gonna change the dynamic of the show in a good way. enjoy!
Rick Grimes is tv Hero
I normally wait for the two parts to be up but couldn’t 😭😭❤️
I dont know but the outro scares me all the time lol
I 100% believe that Carl should of been the last person Rick saw in that dream world state it would of been much more sad
We got Rick rolled..
I liked how Rick's 'death' didn't involve any human villain character but instead was connected to the Walker threat.
Rick wasn’t dreaming or hallucinating with those scenes. Confirmed by Gimple, that really was Shane, Herschel and Sasha talking to Rick from the afterlife.
OMG this is it! i wanna see steve cry!
Join Patreon and watch the Freedom Writers reaction lol. He couldn't even talk he was so overwhelmed with emotion during a couple scenes. Great movie. Great guy.
What an Episode. Sad to see Rick go but it gave us a great episode
Jon Bernthal (Shane) was channeling some "Frank Castle" to spark Rick into fighting.
I don't understand how a horse as skittish as this one is in some scenes was just "patiently waiting for Rick" when the herd was surrounding the shed he was in. I mean, if it had been that "calm and stable" in the first place, Rick never would have ended up on rebar.
Finally the best ep in the series!!!!
I've never been so excited to watch a reaction :)))
It’s crazy to see people who didn’t know react to this! I get why they told us-a lot of people would have been furious at this episode if they didn’t know the writers had no choice/that Andrew Lincoln himself wanted to move on. But it’s still awesome to see people who didn’t know
ive been so excited to see this! love ur reactions can't wait for the rest of your season 9 reactions. season 9 is PHENOMENAL!
saw this when it was uploaded while at work
just got home, perfect way to spend rest of the night after my shift
Been excited for this one for a while, but I'm just as excited for the rest of the series! Great reaction, guys
What an episode. Thanks for the reaction x
Yessss finally time to grab my snacks and enjoy the reaction 👍
Hello from France
Even if it"s a dream, it's not true that is soooooo gooooood to see once again this wonderful duo Rick and Shane. Just watching this two brothers, be friend again.
Moreover with all the little details the same car, the same food as the first episode.
Shane represented the rage of Rick, the rage necessary to fight. He remember to Rick the moments about Shane become Rick conscience.
Come on Negan and Shane in the same episode do you realized this ? This is so enjoyable !
It's strange and paradoxal it's Maggie push Negan in the light as he is in the dark since the season starts.
That is the last scene turns Scott Wilson (RIP) Hershell symbolized the wisdom of Rick.
Remember for Rick is nit a farewell is just a goodbye.
Amazing reaction as usual!!!! I love ur reactions to the walking dead and being part of the duo family!!!
Easily my favorite episode of the Walking Dead! Great all around.
yes yes yes yes! It's here!
It’s here.
Honestly the hallucination scene where Rick is talking with Shane is insane what i really liked about it was the fact that Shane told Rick that he was glad he killed him and he stepped up and also that he doesn't need to carry that guilt over his shoulders and he can finally let go of that guilt
RIP Hershel. Now guys just wait for it! Extra scene don't turn off the show yet.
I think Rick's horse is a Lippensteiner (I know that is spelled wrong. They were smuggled out of Eastern Europe post-WW2.
Super excited! :))
Been waiting for this!
How the heck did NO ONE see Jadis and the helicopter pick up RICK? Did I miss something obvious?
Yesssssss so glad to see this
Rick pulling himself off of the rebar always hurts me. I feel that pain every time.
Keep WATCHING.....YOU won't regret it!!
And there stood a pale horse and the man who sat on him was death and hell followed with him
Skipped ahead again. This episode was one of my favorites
"What comes after" could be viewed as Rick's spiritual death. And Shane and Hershal represent love, forgiveness, and unfinished business .
6:47 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
this episode
gives me chills for TLOU and the part in wich Joel gets almost the same fate
Omg finally out
Honestly, at this point in the apocalypse and Rick already being of a certain age, there's no guarantee that he's even had a tetanus shot in the last 10-15 years. Even in his arm or his leg, that rebar could be a definite killer at this point.
Believe or not, this is not the best episode of the season.
WHAT A EPISODE!
Still wish they had of bought governor in for this episode .. hope he gets like some kinds cameo near the finale .. as he made a big change in ricks character if he ever returns .. so instead of Sasha should of been governor
