He didn't break it himself but his word was broken none the less by Daryl's actions. I was watching closely because I felt the same. Rick didn't say "I promise you can leave or I promise you a car and that you can live etc". Ricks deal was that if he came out and told him what he wanted to know, that he would live and that he could leave in a car. Rick gave him his word for his survival, it didn't happen, his word was broken, regardless of if it was due to Daryl. He could have made sure Daryl was on board, he didn't. Regardless of how the deal was broken, at the end of the day, it was broken, and dude died as a result after giving his trust and keeping his in of the deal. Bottom line
I thought it was so cool that the overall theme of this episode was mercy and morals and that it was Moral(e)s who returned and is almost an exact mirror of Rick. Idk if his name was a seed planted all the way in season one for this payoff but if so props to the writers.
i think aaron is underrated. i feel that he has many useful attributes that have helped the group out to this point .. also letting a tiger roam freely around in the woods is never a good idea i don’t care how “tamed” Ezekiel thinks he/she is. one more thing CLEAR morgan is my favorite morgan
Remember what Rick said to the Alexandrians during his speech in the season 5 finale? "How many of you do I have to kill to save your lives?" One of the themes of season 8 is Rick revisiting his past, realizing that he and Negan actually have more in common than they thought. Glad to see you're enjoying season 8!
During season 6, viewers have been asking where Morales was. It makes sense, with Merle, Morgan and practically the whole group finding them again, everyone wanted to know what happened to him. And you know what AMC did? They brought back the character just to kill him off so we would stop asking.
Morgan pretty much just retold what Morales said to Rick. They both said they're the same. Both groups do whatever it takes to survive, kill people they dont even know
I always love that fight scene with Jesus and Morgan. Really shows how talented Jesus is. I'm torn at this point. A part of me is happy they all aren't just killing everyone on the other side but another part of me is thinking this is war and can they be trusted if you give em a chance.
Even with Glenn's death, Morales knew him for what a few weeks. Its like learning a colleague from some summer job you had a few years back was murdered. Its hardly going to make the impact you think it will.
And defense of Morales he barely knew those people didn't know Rick at all and it's been years since I seen them so it's understandable that hes not attached emotional to any of especially after so long
I see what ur saying. But TWD timeline is really slow compared to the viewers. I always gauge the time by Judith's development. Since she's still a baby I would say it's only been about 1 1/2 years, if that.
Yeah Judith is a toddler here... so about 2... plus add in Lori's pregnancy (9 months), plus she got pregnant AFTER the start, so lets round to one year... I figure it's about 3 years give or take.
I think bringing back Morales not only resolves a unresolved character arc but also showcases that anyone from Rick's group could've become a Savior. Between them murdering Saviors in their sleep and Daryl killing Saviors with extreme prejudice, our heroes are capable of truly horrific things. Just a mental exercise I suggest is whether or not you're able to side with (or at least understand) Negan and the Saviors had we been following their story at the start of the series.
Morales is right. If the roles had been reversed, Rick would've killed him. Daryl pretty much proved that point. I think Rick was lying to Morales and himself about finding another way, at least at first. You can see the gears turning in his head after Morales' death, that maybe they should be doing things differently, because any one of the Saviors they fight could be just like Morales. A good person who was broken by the cruelty of the apocalypse. Rick tries this with the young Savior they encounter, but Daryl isn't into that. Not after what the Saviors put him through.
Outrage??? That seems silly to me. Morales never even entered my mind until we saw him again. Like his character never made a big enough impact on me in season 1 to wonder about him or even care whether I saw him again. I think the way they brought him back was good though... to show us how this world changes people. The fact that he knew the kind of person Glen was.... and how he barely batted an eye when hearing it was Glen who was killed by Negan... that immediately made me dislike the "new" him. ~ Lacey
Duo Reacts tbh looking back it didn’t make too much sense as to why people got so pissed over it, and I’m saying that as someone who was super annoyed at how quickly they killed him, like I think that since you guys binge it you didn’t have too much time to think on it (I’m assuming you watch like one or two episodes at a time because that’s how I normally binge stuff) but up until that episode there had been morales theories for legit years like they started popping up around the time they went to Atlanta to get Beth in season 5 and then we had the whole week to predict what’s gonna happen with him. But it really isn’t that much of a big deal and I’ve come to appreciate that scene with him and rick a lot more now
@@DuoReacts It just feels random and without purpose. If you bring a character back like that you don't just kill them in the next episode. You flesh out a storyline with them. I was wanting to see the Morales family return but not in this way. I get what they're going for but I would have liked Morales' story to have been more fleshed out and spread out than this. Otherwise they should have just let him and his family be happy in Birmingham.
Great episode glad Morales returned, it was sad and shocking to see him go :( glad Rick mentioned Lori, Shane, Andrea and Glenn, I was just surprised that he didnt mention Sophia, T-Dog and Dale. Daryl wasn't taking any crap in this episode. He is tired of being pushed around and lied to by the saviors. Sad Eric died as well and yes, it was confirmed a long time ago he turned and joined the herd, Morgan has been through a lot, so him losing it was not shocking but just very sad. Jared and Gregory both have got to go, bot cocky, evil and only care about themselves.
Its interesting when you look back to the first few seasons of the show. Our characters looked at Shane and The Governors method of doing things as wrong and crazy. Yet as we move along here, some of those same characters want to operate in a similar manner (i.e: no survivors). Sort of makes you realize that maybe those 2 werent so crazy back then...they just were able to adapt to the new world quicker. Whereas our characters held onto the old way of doing things. Idk..maybe im looking at it wrong. Either way I love this channel and your reactions. One of the things i look forward to weekly ☺.
It's always been a question if Rick and the gang should still be considered the good guys. They take care of their own like decent folk, but I've always wondered the outcome if Rick and co. ever had to face against a group that weren't evil like how when Rick was plotting Alexandria's hostile takeover.
The only issue with Shane was his obsession with Lori, and him wanting to take over Hershel's farm (which is a bit of a parallel to Rick's plan to overthrow Deanna and her family in S6).
My memory is hazy so I could be wrong but I don't think Shane ever wanted to take over Hershel's farm? He just wanted the farm to be a safe place that his community (Lori and Carl mainly) could live in. Also, I know he's mentally unhinged at times but wouldn't it be great if the group had Shane right about now to help deal with Negan?
The entire series has explored the issue of how to maintain one's humanity in such a world; the Shane vs. Dale/Hershel/Glen ways of doing things. Rick has gone back and forth.
Itachi Uchiha well good for you if you love that season but for me I didn’t like it and I guess Lacey and Steve will have the same opinion as me after watching this season
@@HermioneGranger-sr4vz It was awful. Negan kept doing the stupidest things imaginable but would survive anyway because the plot needed him to. The Saviors just got their asses handed to them repeatedly but we're supposed to treat them like they're a real threat for some reason. The gun fights are literally just pew pew pew, no tension or anything. Rick and Negan kept fighting every few episodes but since we knew neither of them were going to die it was just filler.
Daryl is becoming cold. In season 6, Daryl was on that path after Dwight. You gotta keep in mind that during season 7, Daryl was kept prisoner during the 1st half. It didn't focus on the 2nd half, but Daryl now wants every savior dead especially Dwight
After being locked up, psychologically tortured by that Easy Street song, and being fed dog food sandwiches, I'd probably be vengeful and trigger happy too.

I wish Aaron hadn't let him walk. You can't let someone that you love, walk, IMO, not if there's any opportunity. EDIT: Yeah, that was a Browning heavy machine gun that fired down on them. It's what Rick and Daryl's team were trying to capture, but it had already been moved. Absolutely devastating weapon with a lot of real life blood on it.
Morales was brought back simply to satisfy fan theories. For years, fans wanted him to show back up somehow. Well...AMC brought him back. Haha! PS it's fun watching you two experience TWD for the first time.
If you recall... Morales had a baseball bat as his primary weapon back in S1. And if he kept it and then was "saved" by Negan... Is that bat from S1 = Lucille??? 🤔
Morales was right. Officer Friendly has been dead a long time. And just like Robert Kirkman always says, him and Negan are just two sides of the same coin. Rick isn’t the good guy anymore. He hasn’t been for a while.
So by that argument Negan's not the bad guy, either. (Which I *almost* agree with.) But a lot of TWD family doesn't or can't go there because of Abe and Glenn.
@@leila7132 For me it's the fact that he is a dictator who rules through fear and influences behavior by having his people indentify as himself like a cult. He also enslaves other communities and murders one member of each group he comes across indiscriminately. Plus, he uses his position of power to coerce women into being his wives. Rick on the other hand, rarely kills anyone who didn't pose a threat to him and his group. Keep in mind that it was Negan's men who tried to attack Daryl, Abe, and Sasha on the road first, and Rick's slaughter of the outpost was partially meant to rescue a hostage. Saying that Rick and Negan aren't very different is tempting because it's contrarion and sounds deep, but it doesn't really hold water if you look at anything besides their kill count.
@@colossians3236 Considering Negan murders without provocation and the Saviors will do his murder-bidding anytime he wants it always made sense to me that Rick or a similar group of good people (not murderers) came along and tried to waste them all. Rightfully so. As long as they're under Negan's rule they're dangerous and a threat regardless as to what kind of people they were. Rick didn't literally pick a person to kill upon meeting and enslaving a group. They are absolutely nothing alike.
Kind of shitty how Daryl just one shotted that nerd saviour out of affiliation, not every saviour is a grunt he just killed a man who was being forced to do labour while being bullied in the process, he was not the enemy and to make matters worse Daryl kind of betrayed Rick and assumed he was sweet talking the saviour to lure him out and make him spill the info when Rick was actually being truthful.

Bottom line
@@KhepriProductions2022 facts
I love how after so many years they bring Morales back just for Daryl to shoot him in the face with an arrow. 😂
I thought it was so cool that the overall theme of this episode was mercy and morals and that it was Moral(e)s who returned and is almost an exact mirror of Rick. Idk if his name was a seed planted all the way in season one for this payoff but if so props to the writers.
Infinite Fantasy it was absolutely not a seed planted in season 1
Morales return was pure fan service - not that there's anything wrong with that.
i think aaron is underrated. i feel that he has many useful attributes that have helped the group out to this point .. also letting a tiger roam freely around in the woods is never a good idea i don’t care how “tamed” Ezekiel thinks he/she is. one more thing CLEAR morgan is my favorite morgan
10:40 so badass Morgan was legit just gonna mow them all down 1 by 1 😂
During season 6, viewers have been asking where Morales was. It makes sense, with Merle, Morgan and practically the whole group finding them again, everyone wanted to know what happened to him. And you know what AMC did? They brought back the character just to kill him off so we would stop asking.
The difference is Morales was barely even a character, unlike Merle and Morgan.
@@watersnake5319 more like 2 1/2 years after all out war they someone I'm sure someone says judith was 3 1/2 years old
@@tness93 yep, that fits she's not a baby baby here. My bad.
@@watersnake5319 👍
Wanna know something funny? Count all the members from Ricks original group (season 1 cast basically) and notice how many are still alive now.
Tyree Jacobs 4
There's 5 if you count Morgan, he never met up with the others, but he was part of the season 1 cast.
The 50 cal guns were in the windows of the warehouse
The show didnt embellish though lol
I remember Daryl killing Morales causes so much outrage back when this episode aired, it's kinda funny looking back on it
"I DID NOT EAT THOSE PANCAKES"
@@theIconOwns shane wanted to make the farm safe by taking it over
The entire series has explored the issue of how to maintain one's humanity in such a world; the Shane vs. Dale/Hershel/Glen ways of doing things. Rick has gone back and forth.
The second half of season 8 is where I really started to like this season.
Kaveh Teimory well for me this season was garbage
@@HermioneGranger-sr4vz Cool story. I love this season.
Did anyone tell you the savior kid that rick talks to by the vehicle was minkus from boy meets world.
This was a hard episode for me as you could start to see a small crack in the bromance. Can't be having that.
Did you just leave out the pancakes!!!!???? 😥😱😱😱 Gregory is hilarious.
Hello Morales, goodbye Morales. Thanks for coming! But mostly thanks Daryl! I love Daryl in wild mode. People have been through a lot during season 7, and I wouldn't put my family's life on the line in the MIDDLE OF A WAR. I also love the confrontation between Jesus and Morgan, I think they both have points, and during these episodes you can see that they are both partly right. Although with Daryl in those two moments I think he did the right thing. It doesn't matter to me like to others THAT SUDDENLY! Morales appeared, yes, that type of wardrobe from season 1.
Wow, the truth is, I didn't remember this episode as such a good one! Great reaction guys. A lot remains to come :).
Great reaction! Praying you guys stay safe and healthy during this pandemic. Love you guys!❤
Lol, "Tiger always seems to come out of nowhere"...
That's because it was, according to the showrunners, hell to animate properly and they wanted to limit it's time on screen.

Yes, we did...Carl shot her in the head. Pretty definitive.

Gracie :') They needed each other
Morales was right.
Umm. That is no incorrect. Negan and Rick are nothing the same. Ya'll like trying to reach. Smh
alamoja you’re not disagreeing with me, you’re disagreeing with the man that created the characters (Robert Kirkman).
Daryl’s giving no shits towards killing people!
Daryl is SAVAGE this season. Damn.
Ezekiel saw sun refect of gun muzzle.
I agree that Daryl should NOT have shot the dude ... BUT at the same time, he didn't kill him JUST out of affiliation or being a grunt... I mean the guy WAS just shooting at them trying to kill them. ~ Lacey

Me: Yeah... That's his name. And?
I feel like Rick and Daryl are gonna butt heads and come to blows with each other cause you can feel the tension between them especially when Rick had that look on his face when Daryl killed Morales and then that kid Tom even when Rick gave his word that they wouldn't kill him because right now they both have different opinions on how they should handle this and end All-Out-War
