Great day one. The island cemetery and old headstones' captivating dates and life stories were fascinating. The hot shower with Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap looked exhilarating. Thanks for showing where you traveled and where you were at approximately on the map.
Great adventure! Very funny also, it looks like you're both having a good time! And of course some luxury as well : a shower and some wine. Scotland looks stunning this time of year, calm water, autumn comes in and the sun makes it complete 😍
Great video. Me and some friends are going to kayak wild camp. But we are using inflatable aldi kayaks. Each year we do a little adventure. And in a few weeks time this will be ours
The first part of an amazing trip........ The culmination of a few months or more of rumination on my part..........Andrew gave it the kick to give it impetus, for which I'm very grateful. An amazing few days captured on the vlog, can't wait to see the rest!!😲
We launched at Torran Bay Hostel. Its not a campsite. The old woman who took our parking fee, appeared to suggest that the Hostel was closed for good and up for sale. She allowed us to camp by our car. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I’m of to loch Awe soon sadly not canoeing, Andrew I really enjoy this series like two gentleman explorers you and Laurie take us on a very pleasant and fun trip around this loch. Were you concerned about tics at all?
Thanks for your comment! We had a great time. It lives with us still. No I wasn't concerned about tics🪳 until I came home and found 3 of them on me!!!!😵 I had them removed by a nurse. Horrible. It's my fault for walking around in shorts. Laurie got away it, probably because he wore long trousers and wellies the whole time. Best of luck 👍🏻
sheila and her late husband were friends of ours spent many nights at torran before during and after the hostel was built many great catches and adventures a realkl lovely family and were good to us anglers
What are the midges like in July? I'm staying in Dalavich on the loch with my 6year old and the owner is just telling me that they cant determine if they will have midges in July not very helpful tbh.
Thanks very much for your comment. Unfortunately, I don't really know what the midges will be like in July. All I can say is that in September, they were out in abundance!
We had one night when they were a problem in Sept., with the weather damp, warm and still. If there's a breeze, or in the open, or a nearby fire, all mitigate them...... all other days and nights were fine..........we also had loads of "Deet" or similar, just in case! (and head nets)
This was an outstanding canoeing adventure. You filmed it so well, it was a delight to watch. A Five Star Film ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That's fantastic. Thanks so much. 👍🏻
Wow - what an amazing place! Great video thanks!
Thank you for watching. Not quite cycling but an adventure of a different sort! Cheers

Thank you. Yes, we need to keep a good sense of humour!!!! The next few days' weather was amazing.
We did have a day of quite significant waves, with "white horses", ie breaking.....but I won't pre empt Andrew's films to come :-)
....Spoiler Alert!!!😄

July would be about mid or high midge season, however I have found online interactive midge maps constantly up dated?
The Scottish Midge Forecast
Hello, I would love to do this, but we don't own any canoes or kayaks, is there any way to rent them from somewhere nearby?
Hi. Thanks. I'm not really sure. Perhaps a google search??! Sorry I can't help....
