Hey man, great tutorial. a quick note for notating rhythm, you've written the main riff's rhythm incorrectly. your time is not incorrect, only the note lengths you've chosen and their groupings. In general, you're supposed to show the middle of the bar. That makes the rhythm much more readable. For example, the 3rd note and onward of every bar of the main riff, the way you grouped them add up to 5 16th notes, which makes it visually hard to place every following note on the beat. Sorry if I'm being a snob, just trying to help out. Really appreciate the video!
I noticed you fingerpicked the main riff to start, but when it came back later in the song you used conventional picking... The latter is really difficult (for the picking hand) because of all the string skipping required. Do you recommend learning it both ways?
When I listen to the song, it sound to me like he used both. That's why I do it. Also, I think you get more power and flow for the "solo" part if you use a pick. :) Another reason is that it becomes easier to switch to the chord strumming parts with a pick. :)
Great videos Vigi, love the channel. :) I was wondering, how did you train hiding the pick in the hand and popping it out while playing? I struggle a lot with that lmao
Thank you! Haha I struggle with that too! I’ve tried hiding between my fingers but I hasn’t worked out for me so far, so I just put the pick between my lips. :)
Realized that he doesn't play the 4 fret on the A string two times in a row, but only one time, for the "Verse" part. Sorry about that!
That was so good thank you so much ❤❤❤
Thank you Vigi, please keep the Frusciante's lessons coming. Your lay out is outstanding. Thanks again
Thank you very much! 😀
Thank you again vigi. I’m gonna learn this as soon as I get off work :))))))
Awesome! Have fun! :D
I just love this song and all the debates about "Low Birds" being pronounced "Lou Berg" :)) Thank you, Vigi!
Yeah true! :D Thank you! :)
It's definitely called Low Birds. Somebody asked him in a interview about Lou Bergs, he was pretty confused :D
Who would have thought that one day I would have put the slow motion as well to learn.....a strumming
It’s an awesome tool for us guitarists. :D
