  • A new blood test is raising hopes of detecting many types of cancer long before symptoms appear. Cancer kills around 10 million people worldwide each year. Some types are hard to detect until the advanced stages, when treatment options are limited. A trial of a new type of blood test has shown promise in identifying mutations early.

There is nothing called 'false negative'. The test could not find any cancer at that moment, which does not certify that it does it exist. Nor does it guarantee that the person will never have cancer.

For instance I had a thyroid scan and blood work. My blood work detected nothing however the ultrasound detected 3 enlarged suspicious nodules which required a biopsy to futher detect if they were benign or not.

Or, how many people have actually cured cancer, after being diagnosed, by eliminating SUGAR, refined carbs, etc from their diets. None of the “tests” by the medical researchers, in the past, were about preventative care. When’s that changing? Test “FOOD choices and CANCER developments” - teach THAT in SCHOOLS. A new friend on the international public stage recently learned they have cancer. They are going rhrough quite a bit far from the public eye. Between continuing their work and receiving treatment, they are fatigued most days, but still smile in front of the cameras. I wish this cancer test had been in place years ago so that my friend wouldn't be going through such a tough time. I've tried to be supportive from behind the scenes. I wish I could do more. I can't. It's not my place. They asked me to keep things private and I have.
I pray that cancer testing will quickly advance in its development. Even though many people now survive cancer, it is still a devastating diagnosis for those who are fighting to stay alive and for those people around them encouraging them not to be afraid or give up hope. 🥺🙏

If you come out positive, let your doctor inspect with more blood work and scans even if you have nothing. It helps the program. It helps you be sure. I work in IT, and it still disappoints me how much of our best minds, our most aggressive research, and the the amount of resources we put into tech-for-profit advances, but do comparatively little for health and wellness research. Admittingly, its expensive. And for the private sector, without a significant ROI, there's no incentive. This video was fascinating but could have been clearer. The beginning hook was that there may be a blood test that can find developing cancers even before tumours appear.
If cancer develops from free radicals and other cells are going wrong, and the test is looking for these markers, perhaps the false positives are positives. In contrast, other tests will detect when actual tumours are found years later.
If I had a positive without a tumour being found, I'll probably change my lifestyle and focus on my immune system even more.
It'll be interesting to see how many of these "false" positives actually develop cancers in the sites indicated by the test.

So the way this would work Canada is people working in the healthcare system interested would look into it and get access and give it to their families and then people who do much research would get it somehow. Anyone who simply wants to do the test would be avoided.

Early detection blood test is a good start but they should start finding a better and more humane treatment than chemotherapy and radiotherapy which are torturous "cure" treatment. And doctors should start advising people to have healthy diet and lifestyle. I wish there is better and kinder medicine not under the big Pharma which is only interested in profit at expense of people's health.

There are other treatments, like surgery, cryotherapy, etc. But depending on the type of the cancer and how much it has developped, some options are not available. Surgery and cryotherapy for example are faster and more precise than chemo, but can only be used for stage 1 & 2 cancer. Anyway, all those treatments are detrimental to the body because cancer cells are similar to healthy cells. There is always collateral damage due to that.
Doctors have always advised healthy diet and lifestyle, it just does not substitute to actual treatment.

Big Pharma also research for other treatments, like antibodies (useful to control tumor angiogenesis) and more selective chemoteraphy drugs. Without them, together with universities and other research institutes, you wouldn't have all modern medicine

Earlier detection just lands them into the (profitable and destructive)
    cut/burn/poison treatments we cling to.
I'd rather see less horrific treatments!

Buy an Iphone OR get a cancer screening test and make it better with the feedback...hum.... Its a no Brainer. We have to start somewhere. Either way its not a diagnosis, its just a pointer of you have it or not. Its up to your doctor's to do further testing to make sure.

None of these are useful unless doctors change their mindset to proactively detect deseades
