A faulty capacitor will cause an overheating situation that results in the compressor shutting down prematurely. A good test to see if an overheating situation exists: pull the refrigerator away from the wall and remove the cardboard cover as shown in the video. Clean the cooling fan and area with a vacuum brush attachment. Doing all of this will maximize the air circulation. Then plug the refrigerator back in, and see if the capacitor now allows the compressor to stay on for several minutes, as it should. If it does, then the capacitor is probably faulty. If it doesn't, then check for other problems, such as a faulty relay or faulty compressor.
A fridge and / or freezer that isn't cooling properly could be caused by a number of different issues. How did you determine that the capacitor was causing your issue? Did you do any sort of troubleshooting to get to that conclusion?
Good point. This part has the highest probably of being the cause of not cooling at all. I plan to make a more detailed video on this. Thanks for your feedback
Hi I have the same refrigerator u have and the freezer it’s working but the top is not and also I don’t feel any air caming out ? Do u have any idea what could be 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
I have the same model. Same issue happens every few months and it’s frozen behind the freezer. You can let it thaw completely and it should fix it. Or if you’re handier than I am you can remove the back panel and remove the ice yourself I think.
nope. There is a way to reset the fridge by pushing a combination of front panel buttons (I've done it before, looking for that video again now). This video is from another planet.
I have a wrf560sehz00 the freezer is freezing and evaporator fan is working the evaporator coils are clean . But the fridge section isn't getting cold . What could be the problem. Any help would greatly be appreciated!!
@phillipgillis9880 it could be the fan. There is a fan in the freezer that blows cool air up to the fridge section. Make sure you feel airflow coming out of the fridge vents.
So my Whirlpool Fridge is cooling in the top but not cooling in the freezer...in fact 0 flow of air. Its been unplugged for 4 days now so its not feozen. Any suggestions?
@@ProWorksTV1 so the whole fridge is cooling now. I took the back cover off and now both the top and bottom are cooling. Thanks for replying! Appreciate it!
If the freezer is cold but not the fridge ,it could be frost on the coils blocking airflow up to the fridge. 1.Check for frost on the back wall of the freezer. If you do, turn it off and let it thaw is the easiest way or you can removed the back freezer panel and thaw it with a hair dryer. All this with the power off of course. 2.There is also a fan behind the freezer panel, make sure it's running
@josealfaro8733 I have an old LG side by side and the water/ice dispenser display showed a FF error code. Googled it and FF stands for freezer fan. Couldn’t find any repair videos on UA-cam for my exact model but managed to remove all necessary panels inside the freezer side and ice maker to access the freezer fan. Found a replacement freezer fan motor on Amazon for $36 dollars and got the refrigerator working again. Worth a try.
My refrigerator is not cold and the freezer side is ice on it.clean be hind it.some one told me inside of refrigerator there is a thing that go to both refrigerator and freezer.
@joycebarnard393 if your freezer is icing up. It could be the thermostat that connects to the freezer coils. Its not expensive and a pretty easy change out
Same problem. Anybody find a solution? I was advised to turn the whole unit off for 24 hours for it to defrost with doors open then turn back on. I’m just not convinced it will work. I read someone else tried that and stayed somewhat cool but then a few days later back warm. I don’t want to keep losing food
@@Mike420Cav2008 my damper into the fridge from freezer was stuck in the closed position. I replaced it so the air could flow into fridge again, working fine now. Whirlpool gold side by side.
Did that ordered the part always get the wrong part. It's china parts. They said the part was on back order. I got two separate orders and they never send the right ones. The part number on the old part but still doesn't matter. Can't fix until the right part is installed . That's China made parts for you. I guess
👌 Great video. Helped alot.
How did you determine that it was a bad capacitor ? Should replace the relay too ?
Are all capacitors the same?

My Whirlpool Fridge (2015?) Isn't cooling anywhere. Could it be the problem with yours in the video? Or might it be the compressor?
@cf8959 possibly multiple things wrong. Both freezer and fridge not cold?
Where did you buy your part from?
The part I used is a capacitor. Get it here! amzn.to/3Affvzg

@idkmoytime4424 is the freezer showing frost in the back, it could be frozen up and blocking airflow to the fridge
