This is a beautiful beautiful work, that background makes the stunning dog pop......if I could paint a tenth of your ability, I'd be ecstatic.....the shine on this dog is just amazing....I love your art......thanQ.💜
@@TmHudsonArt I used water soluble oils, (I also currently have stage 4 breast cancer so need to be careful.) The misconception with WS oils is that you use water to dilute them when you don’t. You simply use WS oil mediums which are designed to be much less toxic than standard oil mediums. You can rinse your brushes in water so cleanup is equivalent to acrylics.
Can I ask, you always use hot press paper … I have tons of cold press heavy paper from my watercolour phase … could I use this up with acrylic painting or does it need to be hot press?
I guess you can use it but the texture would drive me nuts trying to do fine detail. Much more suited to loose watercolour stuff....I like a smooth surface.

Gorgeous work as usual!
Ah thanks for watching...:)
You're turning me into a big believer in acrylic. Is it just me or are those paints just so much more illuminous? Your portraits are amazing.
I've only really used acrylics so I can't say. Most say that oils have more vibrant colour although I heard they are less archival..
Amazing
Thank you...:)
this hit the algorithm. you are about to gain thousands of subs
We shall see haha....it is my new no. 1 video though...

Love your work! It would be nice if you do the 3 part tutorial . Can't wait

I think a mahl stick would help with shaky hands, it helps with mine. You can make one cheaply enough 😊
Yes I have thought about something for the charcoal too as it smudges so easily...but there's still the other issues with oils...
