basslines?? this guys atmosphere in his tracks is insane ...one of my production idols ! gonna get on the level
I love conversations like this. I feel like it validates what I do somewhat. In terms of playing more underground tunes in my sets as opposed to main room bangers. Need more of these. Keep it up, long live the underground
100% agree with him on Americans searching for more underground music. Described exactly what happened to me and I'm sure many others. I have basically nothing to do with EDM now but that's where I started.
Same here. Same thing happened to me. going on 2 years now. don't listen to big room at all now.
@@garbanzo9799 Congrats!!!! Welcome to life!!
'Kids on the dancefloor'. perfect description.
Hadn't heard of this guy before this interview, checked him out on iTunes... now basically own his discography

FUCKING LOVEE THIS GUY!
Wow... You can see so clear when Hot since 82 got comfortable in the convo. Brilliant talk 😌🥂
He made another great point about the new following of dance music has allowed DJs to reintroduce crowds to older sounds like deep house and garage which is awesome for older DJs who love that classic music. Cool interview
Hot since 82....I kneel before thee, ..YOU ARE GOD IN THE LIVING FLESH...respect man..your talent is wicked and your compositions / sets make my widget wiggle....yet another fan in Bournemouth been converted..
Yes HS82 its IS your basslines.
What a quality conversation. I personally think that it'll take more than just introducing people to new subgenres; you can play a funky glitchy track for them, but they won't necessarily like it unless they appreciate this new stuff that's being pumped into their ear holes.
Two visions of the art of dijin', im very agree with Hot since, after all is subjective matter, and the discussion of the becoming of the industry is very interesting... FOR ME, the work of the DJ is about make people passing good moment and DANCE!!!! and searchin' for this wonderful objects called AWESOME SONGS, this piece of art who conect us with the trascendetal or metafisical sense of JOY, I'm amateur DJ of DEEP HOUSE, Thanks Ean Golden for your wonderful chanel.
Keep the underground underground 🎉!!
Complete gentleman...... '82 keep it up!!!
like the use of 'world wide web' for some reason stood out for me...
Amazing interview - love this guys perspectives and his reaction to Ean's "Kids on the Dancefloor" comment lol - AMEN.
Cool interview guys...
ean gets lost in all the knobs around him
ahahahah
great interview. thank you!
love your music mate. keep on rocking
Underground scene will always stay and should stay underground. That is what makes it unique and special. Once you want to make it a get rich quick type of thing is when things become a problem. Commercializing underground music should never be the end goal. Once big companies get in touch of this is when we end up with EDM crap all over again. or the Disco sucks movement in the late 70's. Also the stigma Americans have about underground house/techno ect ect taints the color of the music. so at the end of the day Europeans will always dominate this industry even though Americans were one of the pioneers.
He's also rocking the Versace for H&M, that jacket cost a cool 1000
He over paid.. looks like something Brad Pitt would have worn in Snatch.
Love his tunes and DJ sets though!
it could cost 100000 $ it just sucks hahahha
chris combe You're sayign he's over paid even though you love his tunes and dj sets? Makes sense...
no I'm saying that the versace jacket could cost 100000$ that it would suck anyways. the comment wasn't at all related to the artistical point of view. I think he's a very good artist that dresses shit hehehe
top dj,producer..and nice guy
sick sweatshirt, where can i find one?
I went to watch hot since 82 live in Vancouver a couple weeks ago. :p He was sick as fuck.
Such an intelligent interview
Haha, I was staring at that controller on the right for ages, wondering what it was, and then suddenly an annotation came along and told me :-D.
Cool talk guys!
Love the enthusiasm.
This is excellent
I love Hot Since 82 :)
glasshouse leeds
I totally agree with what he said about DJ becoming a Producer versus the other way around. Its not the rule or always that way but there is definitely a benefit of DJing first. I hate how some producers "DJ" and make crazy money, which is why they DJ and im not hating on that, but they seem to not really care about the DJing aspect of their career beyond the $. It just sux for those who have put time into their craft and dont get the proper respect for their skillz.
Great video 😊
nice conversation!
Yes, we know! (For those who 'pay attention.')
yeah big up shm for the breakthrough
Official DJ of pirate ships everywhere
🔊🔊🔊
Cool guy!
My nice fellow Brit having a nice cup of tea :) lol.
Also, the volume of the talking is extremely low.
Track ID from 2:00min? Please!
Hot since 82 - Sundown
Love it!!!
Shadow Child - So high ( Hot Since 82 remix)
selling traktor? ah, no i have other questions..
Get the poor guy a tissue, 82's a class act
is it weird that i see dance music genres just kinda generally amongst the larger spectrum of music genres, and then ultimately just all becoming music?
COOL!!!
Believe me we will know exactly what you are doing at ExchangeLA in october... bring your A game
lol. as if its about intimidating the dj...?
oh yeah someone told about Kontrol today
Ean is so attractive.
What's the first song
Personally, I somewhat object to the notion of starting off as a DJ. A DJ primarily caters to the individuals attending his set, which really inhibits you creatively.
no
no
Incorrect, crowds go to watch the DJs, they do what they want and that's why we go to see them!!
You don't get it.
It’s so funny what I see through this interview the difference between Europe Dj’s vs American. Daley’s so chill, happy, fun, open. And the American guy on the left seems so ignorant, stuck up, total ego. That’s why our music scene in America is so fucked compared to Europe. It’s not all about you it’s about the music and the people. Squash the ego djs! 🤣
Americans definitely seem to have to put on the ego to compete (there *everything* is a competition). Left guy is also a bit hipsterish snob type. At least he comes across that way. might be a nice guy though who knows?
Trying to out do Ean here, I'm guessing he doesn't know Ean is a super tight vinyl mixer.
When did deep house come bak lol?
more
lollll. this just sums up how americas don't get deep house.
Commercial side of things i do agree man we do not know much about it. But i will say people that originated from Chicago and Detroit/ New York do know deep house roots vs other cities.
We created it Homie LOL and it thrives hard here just fine here.
You just know he hates the big room bullshit. underground has the most space.🇮🇪
HS82 is underground? I consider him pretty mainstream, well in terms of deep house.
Where do you draw the line, exactly?
BooshayLIVE dresses like one. 😂
Hes underground enough to make money and mainstream enough not to be a sellout.
No true underground.
They Know! 4:23
A scarf? Next video, a wooden cane and a cigar to top it off. Like a sir :-)
the second track*
So high (hot since 82 remix)
what track is playing in the background
Derek Lewis Error 909 - Hot Since 82
what song in the background and at the end?
Shadow Child - So High (Hot Since 82 Remix)
ohhh... we rave kids know whats going on...
what s the track in intro?
Hot Since 82 - Error 909 (Original Mix)
why does it have to be kids on the dance floor !
the mainsteam kinda ruined the underground for me. What people think is techno is not the techno that I grew up one. I hold the times and the music I had when young close to my heart. I will never get that back.
Is there a mainstream version of techno?
Is there a mainstream version of techno?
Funny. I just started to watch this and commented to my mate ""look at what shit DJ"s are wearing these days"" lol and THEN read these comments! btw I have to mention I am a contractor in the middle east and money isnt tight. I go for the old school look of Paul and Shark etcetera before any snidey comments get said!
wtf do cloths mean, exactly? He's a good mate of mine and has been for years. He's, honestly, one of the most talented DJ's I've ever known. And he started on vinyl about 15 or so years ago, before anyone barks out the "no talent because raarr rar raaar" nonsense.
It was an observation. I love what he is doing and will be doing in the future. I've even paid for his music before. He's great and keeping the scene well and truly alive. It was an observation on what someone had said previously. Nothing more.
shit. can't understand a word dis dude sayin
i was a dj and then got into production. pffff... everybody knows that he is using ghostproducers.
Nahh you just jealous mate.
@@fellasboyz1272 Yeah im reeeeeally jealous :( that comment really hurt me
@@stevenmiller213 what makes you think he’s using ghost producers?
@@fellasboyz1272 cuz my friend has produced one of his biggest track (and loads of other «artists»
@@stevenmiller213 Hahaha nahh
