Cool breakdown! Saw this guy Live last night at club Sound. Damn!! Hard ass Set. He killed it.. All these Lazy DJ's need yo take notes. This Cat was all over the mixing board and knobs.. Very Dope!!!
@@timmteller871 I think both is correct, a good track may and should breath even at peaktime, but sometimes the dj just overdoes it with the breaks. just give the people what they want. I mean its like sex, teasing is fine and everything but come on, at some point, you just have to put it in.
i get what you say, but i never said mixing different styles at once made me a better DJ but mixing different styles whilst keeping a common ground whilst challenging and making your audience discover new rhythms and music...thats what makes a great DJ.
I'd love to see a 10 year follow up! I recently saw Loco Dice play @ Hideout Festival in Croatia and he was mind blowing. I couldn't really see what was going on in the console but I suspect he may have been playing on 3 decks and using a Pioneer RMX-1000. Would love to hear a breakdown of how he plays now!
@ 3:04 ean throws up a sweet chin jab to the cameraman who's missing the most valuable part of the video, and then @ 3:08 shoots a last second dirty look at the cameraman. So loco.
If you look at all of Richie Hawtins video's from the last year he has MIDI mode engaged on the 2 kontrol X1's (indicated by the green light in the centre) You may know more than me, but as far as I know some of the controls are programmed to control Ableton's input routing from the mixer to Traktor to create his unique Pitch bend effect.
pretty sick. wish they wouldn't have zoomed on the guys face instead of loco's hands. The point of the video is to see how he works his loops and delays. tight video nonetheless.
Berlin is a huge center for electronic music. if you look at history of the culture, there was the chicago school and the euro school that centered in berlin. thus, a lot of the software made has been through berlin as well, such as ableton
True, True. I quite enjoy the confusion of it myself mind you (always with the laptop as far away as possible). using 2 X1's, 4 channels and now attempting to program Touch OSC to allow macro programming of the effects to take over from the little akai I have been using.
anyway in general is it true that most of edm djs are fake djs, they just press play, adjust some filters during the set(that last 1 hour màs o meno) and they define themselves as djs... edm is the ruin of electronic music. im not a very big fan of techno but i have to recognize that techno djs are way more skilled than edm ones
HEY DJ TECH TOOLS A QUESTIONS WE ALL HAVE PLZ ANSWER why haven't you guys givin a pioneer ddj sx review like you did for all ther other controllers videos wise this is a new controller that's out and is selling out fast at every store i have been to ... it be awesome if you could thanks
awesome sauce video... love me some loco dice!! do you think it's possible to have a similar setup without the looper and analog delay so it could all be tracker driver or would you still need to have another delay via a VST plug-in in live or something similar... maybe you can create one of those super knobs thingy's for us ;)
Nice video!!! But i have the same sound card by NI and with the new M1 MacBooks bye bye I can’t use anymore; it’s not compatible, if someone found another alternative let me know😢
This video is great! Anybody know what kind of volume pedal he uses by his feet? The 'magic' LOL Also, you think it's worth getting it? I'm definitely looking into getting a dd-7 because I've seen this guy play live and the sound he makes with that thing is incredible. From what I understood he only uses the foot pedal to adjust the volume just so that he can have an extra hand. Am I right? Can someone explain the function of the foot pedal in detail? Thanks in advance!
i think i have enough to do with my own djing to look THAT close on other djs work :D last thing i've seeen about richie hawtins setup was those X1's and the maschine :D
How can he remember how to setup this equipment the right way every time? I saw some labels for inputs on the mixer, but all that analog stuff (pedal, etc.) must be a nightmare. It's like building IKEA furniture without instructions for every gig! God Bless Him!
I’m devastated that my parents didn’t call me Loco Dice
Would like to see more interviews of DJ's who will actually show their gear and demo it's function. The foot pedal is BOSS, thanks Ean.
Loco Dice parties are always unbelievable
world class dj , just knows how to play to a crowd
loco is really the first person saying that if you play long breaks it kills the crowd!!!!! ive been thinking this for a long time!!!
Cool breakdown! Saw this guy Live last night at club Sound. Damn!! Hard ass Set. He killed it.. All these Lazy DJ's need yo take notes. This Cat was all over the mixing board and knobs.. Very Dope!!!
loco dice seems like such an awesome dude to hangout with
@Bennyb It is fair to say you can determine a mans demeanor pretty quick. Maybe you could be fooled - fucking idiot.
That Redsound Soundbite XL looper is the bomb. I'm never ever ever getting rid of mine. Best looper period.
The best Tunisian techno producer ever.
We love you, Yassine
his bass is out of this world!
It hits!
_Long breaks kill the vibe._
wise words!
in the house
I hate the "lets change the track every minute" attitude

That is why "real" dj's mash together tracks to avoid these breaks... Music is an art, not all people posess this talent. Simply..
True but the only other genius that can break that is Ricardo Villalobos!
Every time i watch this video I get goosebumps at 4:10
He needs a real isolator if he wants to play with the sounds.
Would've been much more helpful at 3:00 to show Dice's hands and not ian getting his groove head on.
the best part of the video and the camera guy showing their faces :/
a magician never reveals his secrets..
Dice cleverly hid his trick.
all of what you said!!!
I moved down the write the same thing. What a cringe shot.
dice is a true artist
Thomas Lee yea i can tell. he loves it. i gotta meet him
He is! Not like that fkin Fisher posser
that xone mixer is just gorgeous. i have the 42 but want that model so much more

great video! always good to see how the professionals do it
Why moving camera away from his hands in the most important moment?! :/
+dej4n because the camera man was a woman

met him on IBZ, he's an awesome mate! Really cool guy!

Coming from a guitar background, I find it so intriguing that Loco uses the same delay pedals I grew up with in his DJ sets
That's really cool how he implemented the pedal
yeh its a dope idea
wow didn't realize how complicated his setup was... more how i play videos DJTT! please!
Love that Mad Professor reference, Big up!
True, True.

im sorry, what is a break ? this part after the drop ? Loco says '' i dont play long breaks in a party, i do in afterparty or in the morning''
It's when the music is more calm. Nornally doesn't have kicks and has risers to do the drop. Something like that
DER MEISTER!!
hertzliche grusse aus Schweden&Bosnien!!
This guy is a boss!!!!
