1:07 Why you may be deficient in histidine
    2:25 Co-factors of histidine
4:48 Top Foods to prevent hair loss
In this video, we're going to talk about the importance of histidine in helping to prevent hair loss and what foods you should incorporate into your diet to support healthy hair.
A study has shown that over 90 percent of people suffering from alopecia are deficient in an amino acid called histidine. This essential amino acid is a precursor to histamine, which plays a vital role in immune reactions, allergies, and inflammation.
Deficiencies in histidine can lead to anemia, while excessive intake can cause premature ejaculation. However, the right amount of histidine in your diet can promote healthy hair growth by helping to produce keratin and regulating copper and zinc levels.
Certain medications and alcohol consumption may lower histidine levels in the body, while inadequate stomach acid can hinder its absorption from food sources. To counter this issue, betaine hydrochloride can be taken as an acidifier.
But to fully utilize histidine, specific co-factors must be present, such as vitamin B6, proper copper and zinc ratios, and folate.
The top three foods that can help combat hair loss are:
    1. Organ meats, including liver, due to the histidine and other essential nutrients they contain.
    2. Animal proteins, such as beef and chicken, are rich in histidine and other amino acids necessary for hair regeneration.
    3. Shellfish, particularly shrimp, scallops, and crabs, provide high levels of zinc and copper that can help maintain proper ratios in the body.
It's important to note that having enough folate in your diet is essential for hair development. It's best to obtain folate from natural sources, as taking supplements such as folic acid may inhibit the conversion of histidine into its active form.

Increasing my protein intake is causing my hair to grow back. Due to 30 years of dieting, it turns out that I had been depriving my body of sufficient protein for a very, very long time. Even Rogaine only helped a little, but tripling my protein intake since last summer is not only restoring my hair on top, but my hairline is coming forward, too. A quarter of an inch so far. I know, because I have a little birthmark that was exposed and now it's covered up by hair again. Also, my resting heart rate is down by 30 beats/minute. That one floored me. Without any extra exercise, mind you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing this video today. I knew my diet could be my fastest recovery to hair growth and Im proud to say I'm eating most of the things you listed except liver and shellfish. So, i will make these adjustments and hope for the best. Thank you again. And...I love you. 😮

I've always had long hair and I suffered the same high stress-related hair loss on 4 different occasions over a 12 year period. Luckily, most of it grew back; but my last attack was the worst (many years ago) and now I have a bald spot at the top that won't regrow. Easy enough to hide, and I'm just grateful that any of it grew back.

00:40 🍲 Hair is made of protein, but simply eating protein may not be sufficient for hair regrowth. Amino acid histadine, a precursor to histamine, plays a crucial role in making hair strong and hydrated. Over 90% of people with hair loss were deficient in histadine.
01:50 🌿 Co-factors for using histadine include B6, proper copper and zinc ratios, and folate. Folate is found in dark leafy greens, and liver is a good source for those not consuming enough vegetables.
02:18 💊 If deficient in stomach acids, use Betaine hydrochloride to aid in breaking down and extracting amino acids. However, be cautious of potential side effects like indigestion, gas, and bloating.
03:00 🚫 Avoid supplements with folic acid, as it may inhibit the conversion of folate into its active form, essential for DNA protection and preventing potential hair loss.
04:53 🥩 Top three foods for hair health: 1) Organ meats, especially liver; 2) Animal protein like beef and fish; 3) Shellfish for zinc, copper, selenium, and trace minerals.
05:59 🎥 If concerned about hair loss, watch the video on folate for additional insights into factors that could contribute to deficiency.

Aside from the example of many other people, Ive actually seen my own hair, here and there plucks turn white after some periods when i went through a lot of stress and depression. Carnivore is perfect for skin, hair and nails, since the gut is the root cause of hair growth or hair loss, if you’re here on a keto channel it’s likely you’ve run into digestive issues. I’m bad at carnivore lately because of the freedom I have to experiment, but it works like nothing else for hair. Red Cabbage is good for L-Glutmaine, Onions are also good, but if your gut cannot tolerate greens at the moment but you’re worried about your hair, carnivore is the best response, it’s quickly becoming my only response.

I lost so much hair when I started keto, and it did not come back for 2.5 years, which was the total time I had been doing keto. I took a break and focused on extended fasting with a diet including carbs in between. I did gain some weight back, but my hair came back as well. Now, my hair is as it was before, and I have been doing keto with prolonged fasting, and have not had any issues with my hair whatsoever. I think the problem was that my system was shocked when I first went on keto, because I was insulin resistant and prediabetic. The shock caused me to lose the hair, and the fact that I stayed on ketosis for so long, prevented my T4 proteins from turning into T3 proteins which meant my hair simply stalled. I tried supplements of all kinds and even durma rolling, but going back to carbs for a few moths was what did it, and I know for sure as I had stopped taking all of the supplements I had been taking.

Losing hair is so painful. I am 27 old guy with a bald head who started losing his hair after turning into like 21. It would have been so good if we had any proper tests or something to diagnose the cause and reverse it 🥺. This hair fall sucked out the whole energy and my youth out of me, left me with only stress etc.

Hey Doc, a few months ago I began losing my hair. I mean like (gulp) big chunks of hair. I freaked out as I’ve always had beautiful, thick glossy hair. I upped my biotin & vitamin D dose. Began taking silica, protein powder and collagen & voila… my hair is no longer falling out‼️ In fact the shedding is now less than it’s ever been. Neither is it breaking. It pays dividends to listen to hair videos & get onto it ASAP. Thanks for another informative video. 👏👏

    4.Copper ans zinc.
It's important to note that having enough folate in your diet is essential for hair development. It's best to obtain folate from natural sources, as taking supplements such as folic acid may inhibit the conversion of histidine into its active form.

@ahbub499 I think any nutrient deficiency plays key roles in the body, so if you give your gut microbiome what it wants then it will return the favour and you will absorb the necessary nutrients your body needs.
Eating healthy and diverse foods, cutting out sugar where possible increases the absorption of nutrients, since we all know sugar decreases the absorption of the healthy stuff, exercising helps blood flow all over the body, that can increase healthy hair, but biotin nutrient is important for hair regeneration.
I took a biotin supplement that was good for 12-15 months noticed thicker hair, but took me 12 months to notice changes, I combined exercise daily with that, fasting but eating 1-2 meals a day that was large 1950-2950 calories and filled with healthy food only.
The calories were dependant on splitting 2 meals a day with 2 hours inbetween each, I did that cause it was sports nutrition back in the day, kept me fit young and I never gained any weight and leaned out with lean bulking.
Bare in mind, I've tested the exercise theory, I stopped exercising over the pandemic and about 4 years now of non running/cardio, for that blood flow everywhere, I noticed that my hair has become more thinner and falls out more than before, it does regrow back but thats because I take a lot of supplements for hair growth Biotin being the main one, I do take collagen but thats more for skin, joints and bones.

Here's another tidbit: with the pharmaceutical companies heavy marketing of antihistamines this could definitely be a part of the problem since it blocks histidine from working. It won't help one bit to eat foods or take a supplement for histidine if you're taking a drug to block it.

You dont fast with lemon water it has small amounts of calories and is acidic so it tells your body that food is coming. Not a true fast electrolytes should be fine, but try again without lemon water it will be better. With lemon water your teeth will feel weak and you will feel lethargic and achy joints. You don't need oil and protein every day. People need to fast. I would do a dry fast but that's up to You

I have been taking some collagen supps, which seem to work somewhat, but I pretty much knew that my diet had something to do with the thinning and such, as well as some deficiencies in my diet, (and stress..lol), as usual. I haven’t dropped by your channel in some time, and my life has changed so much since I watched your first video, Sir, but I knew if I came back, you would have info that would be useful, yet again. I had got the Gastric Bypass surgery 20 years ago and about 12 years ago I started loosing my hair on the front of my scalp. It was nearly as bad as a babies butt and someone told me I needed to take Collagen pills for men so I ordered a bottle of them and started taking them. After one month I noticed when shaving my face that I had new hair growth on the front of my scalp. Now I have been taking it for two months and I have hair long enough to fold over on my scalp and cover the front. The Gastric Bypass really caused me a lot of issues. But I'm going to keep taking the Collagen pills for men and see if I can grow a full head of hair again. I knew that I was missing a few minerals but I didn't know which ones.

Dutasteride is even more effective at blocking DHT. Diluted Castor oil and Moringa Oil are good too.

Cooking beef liver with onions and bell pepper tastes like beef pepper steak. I used to make this years ago, so I'll be including it in my diet again. My hair has become noticeably thinner over the past few years, and I'm prone to seasonal allergies. So hopefully eating liver once a week or a couple of times during the month will help.
