You might just be right...I've been around for many decades and have listened to hard rock and metal for pretty much my whole life and I dearly love many bands. But I've found for many years now that Motörhead has become my go-to band to get me feeling right...you know, when I need a kick in the ass to get me going. And when I listen to them, I just have to think, "My God, these guys are beyond good, and beyond cool, it's like their music is attached to my soul." Lemmy was the genuine article and was truly born to actually become Rock n roll and to not really give two shits what anyone else thought about it. It comes through in the music. Think about it...name a band that is actually "better" at what they do than Motörhead was. There are few other bands with the extensive catalog of music they have and there isn't one single bad album. People don't care for Snake Bite Love, but I've listened to it over and over and it's a better than decent album. If that's their worst, then they may well be the best band ever.
Try The Ramones It's Alive. You can see why Motorhead and The Ramones were such good friends. Both played fast, stripped down guitar-oriented rock'n'roll.
I remember watching this aged 14. I was as intimidated as fuck - especially after what had just been on before. Just look at them, they're not playing instruments, they're discharging weapons. I was hooked from this moment onwards.
I've just seen Lemmy on the BBC documentary about British Heavy Metal, and he stated that he plays the bass like a guitar and showed what he meant. I then realised he is truly original and the way he plays, if I am correct no one has ever been able to copy-remarkable and ground-breaking, no one even comes close.
What I can't figure out is how Lemmy growled and bellowed out the lyrics like a cross between Popeye, the Cookie Monster and maybe a T Rex, but it's still a melody. It's right on the note most of the time. Who else can do that? There have been lots of great screamers but very few bellowing roarers.
Blood curdingly brilliant, my favourite track of these boys. These guys were massive 78/79/80/81 remember walking around leeds on sat aft before elland rd, heaps of motorhead tshirts everywhere. Happy days..
What I really love is when Motorhead had Lemmy, Philthy Animal and Fast Eddie is they had that great fast sound...and when they weren't together it was different but still great...
I never get tired of Motörhead. Was lucky enough to attend Motörhead shows for the last 12 years of the bands existence. I have my CDs now turned to mostly a collection of all the albums on vinyl. Never gets old to me, just beautiful fucking music - all eras
trouble is, i'm fkn old enough to remember Motorhead on this programme - - Top of the Pops. You just have to remember that usually it was filled with $hit like Donny Osmond and the Partridge Family. And then one day Motorhead came on, and it was like "what the fk was that?" - and then a light went on in a lot of fkn little heads. And their world was never the same again...
I'm glad the UK had the guts to put this on TV, because I guarantee in the USA at the time, this would NEVER have got on national TV. NO WAY! When audiences wanted to see bands with balls, instead of bands with no balls.
Motörhead at their coolest. Love Philthy playing an invisible (floor tom?) left of his hat. And Lemmy playing a Burns 6-string? No-one's come close to rocking as hard or being as hardcore!
I was at the Bomber tour gig at Lancaster on 17 November 1979. I remember the date as I had earlier that day been at Otley to watch the All Blacks get mullered by the North Division. Fantastic day. But Taylor never wore a fedora and he was anything but cool!
"Bomber" [I. Kilmister, E. Clarke, P. Taylor] [Motor Music Ltd.] Ain't a hope in hell Nothin' gonna bring us down The way we fly Five miles off the ground Because, we shoot to kill And you know we always will It's a Bomber It's a Bomber It's a Bomber Scream a thousand miles Feel the black death rising moan Firestorm coming closer Napalm to the bone Because, you know we do it right A mission every night It's a Bomber It's a Bomber It's a Bomber No nightfighter Gonna stop us getting through Sirens make you shiver You bet my aim is true Because, we aim to please Bring you to your knees It's a Bomber It's a Bomber It's a Bomber
just noticed the carlsberg special brew in its own special holder on the drum kit at 2.44. get five of those bad boys down yer neck and cranck this up. then youve lived my lad
I am going to see Motorhead tonight in Aberdeen, last time i saw them in Aberdeen was 27 years ago at the capital 16th June 1983 .....Rock Gods then ... Rock Gods now
Probably its a tv show:they are playing in ""playback"" along the track only because its, probably,a tv show. You can also see in megadeth peace sells tv show. The crow is dead probably because of that. They used to put the song upon the band for be sure that anything go wrong
Motorhead is NOT Punk nor is Metal,it's simply PURE,RAW,FAST,DIRTY ROCK'N'ROLL .Motorhead has a UNIQUE sound and i LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!
Speed!
They are just bad ass ! That’s the only label they need.
Yea total rock n roll Ray.lem used to get annoyed when they kept referring to Motörhead as heavy metal-interviewers never did their research.
Amen
I love It too!!!
Motorhead - the best band ever.

I totally agree, mr. Tajtas !!! Phenomenal Motorhead !!!!!!
Your right
ACDC for me but yeah I mean... It's Motörhead. It's freaking Lemmy!! There are too many good bands.
I remember watching this aged 14. I was as intimidated as fuck - especially after what had just been on before. Just look at them, they're not playing instruments, they're discharging weapons. I was hooked from this moment onwards.

R. I. P. Lemmy! We miss you so much!
It's cool that Philthy Animal Taylor is playing the drums in the front of the band instead of the back.....what a refreshing change....

Bad Boy Bubby that’s rockanroll
He was a musician.
It’s not a phonogram?
Coolest band on the planet at the time. Awesome.
Phil so ticked off he was being made to mime. Best. Drummer. Ever.
The great days as s kid running home to watch top of the pops cos you knew Motorhead. Saxon or Priest were on🤘🤘🤘
Or rainbow whitesnake or Gillan!
Blood curdingly brilliant, my favourite track of these boys. These guys were massive 78/79/80/81 remember walking around leeds on sat aft before elland rd, heaps of motorhead tshirts everywhere. Happy days..
The crowd are like a room full of dead people

To think all three are sadly no longer with us. Bet there having a ball upstairs gone but will never be forgotten.
Flowers on Eddie's guitar strap, very metal. :)
he didnt give a fuck
I think he was always more like a blues rock person, both by his guitar playing style and personality, so why not:)
never seen Lemmy play with base and Fast Eddie with Thunderbird guitar anywhere else...
Bordered equipment ?
Borrowed equipment. And it wasn't plugged either. Damn Top of the Pops!
R.I.P Fast Eddie

Phil’s hat is probably the best thing I’ve ever seen

[I. Kilmister, E. Clarke, P. Taylor]
[Motor Music Ltd.]
Ain't a hope in hell
Nothin' gonna bring us down
The way we fly
Five miles off the ground
Because, we shoot to kill
And you know we always will
It's a Bomber
It's a Bomber
It's a Bomber
Scream a thousand miles
Feel the black death rising moan
Firestorm coming closer
Napalm to the bone
Because, you know we do it right
A mission every night
It's a Bomber
It's a Bomber
It's a Bomber
No nightfighter
Gonna stop us getting through
Sirens make you shiver
You bet my aim is true
Because, we aim to please
Bring you to your knees
It's a Bomber
It's a Bomber
It's a Bomber
Que estilo!!!!!
