- With Halo Infinite seeming like a disappointment for everyone involved, rumours are spreading like wildfire that 343 are already working on a new Halo game on the Unreal Engine. Do these rumours have any merit? And is there enough goodwill for people to accept another Halo game?

Gonna be honest, I don't think we'll be seeing another Halo game anytime soon. This feels more like the rumour mill has gone out of control. The only thing I'm seeing that's Endless is the pain of what it feels like to be a Halo fan.
I agree. I keep seeing countless videos about a "halo game" or "new halo infinite content". Why would a new game be in the works when infinite isn't even finished anyway😑. Infinite really broke the halo community and its really sad to see...It's gotten so bad that I personally don't care about the lore in regards to halo infinite. 343 also needs to apologize and cut the crap.

Honestly it feels more like robbery, spent the $60 for campaign when it first came out, beat it in 3 days, tried multiplayer, never touched it again. Campaign was better than Halo 5 but theres nothing else to do in it other than shooting Banished without any real story line. Difference between Bungie and 343- Bungie came from nothing.

Good vid. I think the only way 343 will get any good will from the community is if they fix Infinite and relaunch the game. Acknowledge they screwed up, offer some kind of compensation to players who have been around since launch and commit to transparency. No more of this "monthly updates" shit only to get a drop pod once every two or three months instead.

@@Long_Fang Heavily cynical attitude, especially coming from you of all people. But I think they just need time to make a good game, as much time as they need. They need to combine the campaign of 4 and the multiplayer of 5, make tweaks to those, and perhaps it will be acceptable. Or maybe it won't, I don't know. I don't think restarting is the best option though, especially considering that Infinite is supposed to be a sort of "spiritual reboot" and the Reclaimer Saga has been discontinued. Several plotlines from the latter have already been wrapped up in Infinite's campaign, and I'm still waiting to buy some books - you guys should probably read them, they're pretty good.

Happy to see you back and hope the new job is going well. I personally would not buy another 343 Halo game unless other people (like you) recommended the game and were giving it high praise. Infinite burned a lot of the community, and I don't have faith in 343 to make a quality Halo game. Which is a shame because I've spent over 10 years watching my favorite franchise die a slow, painful death.
Unfortunately, my stupid ass is always gonna buy the next Halo regardless of who's making it. So, you can depend on seeing a review from me!

Not just games, but boycott *all* Halo products and anything with 343 Incompetencies’ logo on it. That includes clothes, cookbooks, console accessories, and books. I have no regrets refusing to give them money after the Disaster Chief Collection.
I said to myself I'd give 343 3 chance's to do right by halo I gave them 4 halo 4 5 MCC and infinite they refuse to learn im done been done for awhile got sick of the disappointment lies and general misunderstanding of what made halo so good so I doubt anything 343 does ill return for if a new dev comes in I'll give them a chance hopefully Certain Affility could do a game like odst with Joe leading it

No amount of leadership changes will fix the baseline incompetence that seems to run rampant across every level of development, these fuck-wits can’t even code a UI without making it near impossible to add new gamemodes, or at least “UI limitations” is the given excuse for why they can’t add more gamemodes. Like holy shit on a stick, Halo perfected its UI 12 years ago with Halo Reach, why the fuck is this even a problem?
If they abandon Infinite and put out another game (even a few years from now) it better be both free AND amazing right at launch because no one is going pay a sticker price and no one will trust them so we'll be waiting for launch reviews.

Thank you for understanding the point of why I made this video! I Felt like it was important to put all this info together, but also add a bit of an opinion to it. And get the opinions of the fans as well. As after all, they're the ones who will be buying the next game!
I don't see Infinite being abandoned for a new game just yet. I think it would be another nightmare from a PR standpoint if they didn't at least try to fix the game like they did with MCC (hopefully a lot quicker than MCC though lol). Also side note, I'm so happy you gave props to Halo 4 for being content complete and being FUN! I love the game and always get annihilated for defending it 😅
A man after my own heart! I really enjoyed H4 for what it was. Not perfect by any means, but a lot of fun. Out of 343's games it's easily my favourite.
I haven't played a single game 343 has made, and I don't consider MCC something they made (I won't open 4). I have yet to be proven wrong in my general feeling since they started that they've ruined Halo. We should retcon every addition they've ever made.

I have been rather busy with my work and Graduate Class which has hindered me from commenting on your videos. I feel torn about 343 Industries and their current situation. They have had a significant amount of restructuring recently, and I think that some the promoted and hired members have a great history with Halo that makes me somewhat hopeful for the series' future. However, the improvement of Halo is not a certainty, and 343 Industries has a record of failure that they have to overcome to inspire solid confidence. Like you I would love to see Halo: Infinite repaired and be made content complete, but the technical debt of the Slipspace Engine and the severe lack of workers makes the goal seem almost impossible. Concerning the development of a new game, the Unreal Engine could definitely fail to capture the grounded, punchy feel of the past Halo titles. Also, I would probably not buy the game on release unless Halo: Infinite reached a stable state and almost every report about the new game was positive. I look forward to your future videos, and I hope you are able to reach 10,000 subscribers by the end of this year!

And you're absolutely right. 343 have got a big hill to climb over, but the worst part is that they made that hill themselves from years of digging to find gold, when Bungie had already found diamonds for them. They've gotta do something to entice good will for their studio and the brand of Halo. No idea how they'll manage that though 😅
With the free multiplayer, starting over from scratch could be a good idea.

The Old changing the engine changes the feel arguement always baffles me because even with blam in place as the baseline for the slipspace engine the Legacy feel of the product is missing. The underlying mechanics friend and nothing like the original games using an alternative solution for aiming as a whole. Similarly the physics are completely overall and nothing like the older titles. People really need to stop putting all the expectation and the engine and framework and realise that the issue is entirely down to the engineers. Its a very uninformed position to have and is far too common.

And ALL of the old code is present to be referenced and replicated. It all co.e down to the engineers and their understanding of what is important to maintain. Something that wasn't handled in infinite or guardians to an acceptable standard.
Placing any doubt on UE shows a lack of understanding of the actual issue. And considering the freeze on hires for now that's a major concern for future projects.

I think 343i should finish Infinite rather than abandon it, with or without the ten year plan. I don’t think those tend to work out in the end anyways to my knowledge.
And I think it might be for the best if Halo: “The Endless” is the next title and makes the switch to UE5 if it’ll make things easier on the devs. While it could potentially lose that “Halo” feeling the Blam engine has like you mentioned, I think it’ll be worth it if they can bring out content at a quicker pace and if it’ll stop giving the devs brain aneurisms. So long as 343i learns their mistakes for once.
But at the risk of sounding slightly contradictory, I hope Tatanka (whether it’s a BR or not) will launch on Infinite merely because of the fact Infinite has been going through a rough patch shortly after launch, to put it lightly. The more content Infinite has the better.
It would literally be a brain decay move to just up and make a new game after this was promised to be a live service game which has the core fun gameplay of a halo game it just needs the modes and content. If we have to wait more after waiting 7 years for Infinite I'm gonna lose it.
I think we all are, man. Patience is going to drain faster than my hopium levels.
At this point, Creative Assembly when making Halo Wars 2 had more love for Halo than 343 has. I'm also a lot more skeptical of these things. I think Microsoft needs to do what Disney did with Star Wars, give Halo to someone else and restart from Halo 3 or 4 (I like 4, and like Infdinite's campaign with many criticisms. but what a convoluted mess of a story we're in.)
I'd love to see Halo make a return with a new replacement and people with new ideas, but also a love for Halo. Make this current one the uh.... Bronze timeline?

The timeline that would be the restart would be Iron timeline. It comes from historical ancient ages. Bronze, Silver, Iron. etc
TV series is already Silver, so, Iron would be the new one, reborn into greatness.
Hell. Ensemble Studio did *not* want to make a Halo game, and Bungie hated that the idea was not green-lit by them, but ironically Halo Wars is among my favorites. Ensemble must have felt the pressure to do the franchise justice in the eyes of Microsoft, Bungie, and the fans. 343 Incompetencies on the other hand is like a lazy kid who suddenly became a millionaire because a relative died, but with a sense of elitism to go with it.

Good points well made as always. To answer your question- would I buy another 343 halo game, no. I honestly feel as if they should just stop now. No more Halo, they tried (I say tried I’m not sure how accurate that is given the half arsed efforts we’ve received) and messed it up a load of times.
Imma be honest. Halo 5 was my first halo. I was also like 8-10. So I was not mentally able to comprehend a bad story etc. I liked it, never really played multiplayer. I saw infinite coming and I was like cool. I get MCC to fully understand story and I instantly understand the hate. But. I love infinite. I don’t know why. I just find joy in it. It needs to be better but it’s the first halo I was apart of the hype train for, so I kinda need it to succeed.
343 have lost me with Infinite. I was foolish to even buy that. They fucked up with Halo 4,5, MCC for the first lot of years and Infinite. I can't say that I'll never play another Halo game again but personally I'm not paying 343 for a Halo game again in full.
Any future games by them I'll just play on Gamepass and even then I don't know. I've been really let down by Halo for the past 10 years now.

The summary is again, on point. Even if this UE5 monstrosity turns out to be the best thing ever, I still wouldn't give 343 a nickel. We need to stop funding AAA companies that regurgitate garbage (EA, Blizzard and Ubisoft) and band together for things we honor instead (indie and fan projects).

Apparently most Devs from Infinite have been moved onto the battle royale that is stand alone like warzone. And it is on Unreal, but some 343 Devs are porting Infinite to Unreal too.

343i are kind of in a lose lose situation, at least for me. I would rather them move on from the broken mess that is Infinite as its clear that game is a broken mess not worth salvaging. However, its clear 343i still don't know how to make a game let alone a Halo game, and even with management change, I do not trust them to finally pull their head out their ass and make a good game.
It does feel like we're pretty far gone. Especially now after so many false starts.

The only thing - literally the ONLY thing - stopping me from playing Halo Infinite right now is desync and the UI. If the UI was quick, responsive and snappy, and didn't take 10 minutes to load each page, and if desync wasn't an issue, then I would still be playing Halo Infinite, because I still love the game. Regardless, if another Halo game came out, I'd still buy it, just because I love Halo.
We are not seeing a new Halo game for a bit. The current one is not really holding up and diverting resources away to another game is not the right way to go

Planning ahead is basically the most important aspect of project management in any industry, how the fuck did they release the live-service game with no content plan? Season 3 should’ve been ready to go in February latest. Chris Lee must’ve been lying his ass off for years…
Because Frank O’Connor founded 343 Incompetencies by hiring people who hated Halo. There was Bonnie Ross too, but good riddance to that waste of space. Still of few other toxic holder overs there too.
There was a tweet talking about how Microsoft wanted a piece of the live service game area and wanted to compete with Destiny.
But how can you compete if you can't provide a dlc campaign every 1-2 years and pvp content on top of that? Lol
While I do think dropping Infinite and making a new game is the best call as Infinite is a lost cause at this point.
I'm personally not going to buy the next Halo. Halo Infinite has made me lose all trust in 343i and they'll need to work damn hard get earn my trust back.
I'll try the next Halo via Gamepass sure, but I'm not buying it.
For the next Halo they will need to make a feature complete Halo game with all the features fans expect and none of this F2P Coatings and Armour Core BS. Only then will they earn my trust back. But all that happening is unlikely.

I will explain why. Halo 5 was portrayed to be about someone other than Master chief.... meanwhile halo 4 was ALL about chiefs emotional character development... so who the fuck is loch and why do I care? I want to learn about why cheif is a.machine not a man.
So halo 4 was, o.k. but halo 5 marketing ruined it for me. 343 has no idea what they are doing.
but like, what's even the point in demanding they funnel all this time and resources into resuscitating the dead turd of a game that is infinite? this is literally a move that goes against halo's best interests as a franchise. all we ought to care about is what it's going to take to get halo back in a good spot again instead of wasting time that could be spent on a better game that learns from the mistakes and successes of infinite, on a game that will never see any more than 10k players again no matter how good of a game it becomes. it's too late, people already had their taste and moved on. stop trying to brute force this game.

We shouldn’t buy *any* official Halo product as long as 343 Incompetencies are in charge. The includes clothes, books, and Halo themed console accessories. Go to the used market or buy fan made products.

The new halo games are as synonym as the iPhone features keep getting removed.
I love Halo, I really do, but I never enjoyed Halo Infinite, nor had any hope it would be good. Beyond the lack of content, the game doesn’t have much going for it. There are clearly many issues under the hood, and it may be too difficult to update going forward.
These companies have to plan far ahead so it wouldn’t surprise me if 343 is starting to move on to the next title. I bet “Halo Endless” is going to be a separate battle royale like Call of Duty’s “Warzone”, because it’s using Unreal, and would have to run as a separate game anyway. From there I think it’s only natural that they use Unreal instead of the troublesome Slipspace engine moving forward.
Honestly, I think they’re unsure of what to do and are probably waiting for the reception of Forge and the Battle Royale to make further decisions on how to proceed. I guarantee one of those potential options is to use Unreal 5 for their next Halo title, and to divert most of their resources into doing so.
I don't believe ANYTHING 343 says. I'll believe it when "The Endless" is loaded onto my Xbox.
I don't know, if it says Halo on the box, I'm probably going to buy it. I don't really care who the dev is. I'm in for the campaign/co-op campaign as opposed to the VS multiplayer.
I was ok overall with the campaign as is, kind of open ended but I assumed that was purposeful to leave the opening for DLC, if that goes into a new title as opposed to DLC, sure.

If you want to separate yourself from Halo for now, I don't think it would be a bad option. Things are subject to change. Rumors are amuck and big decisions have not been made.
Halo is in purgatory. Nothing has been confirmed, and all we are doing is twiddling our thumbs aimlessly. Many other content creators have distanced themselves as well.
The decision is up to you. Of course.
Future uploads are going to have more variety, for sure. I've got a few Call of Duty related vids in the works and more general gaming stuff that I'm writing up script for.
I really hope they dont make another game going off the tandem of how its going now. The endless is a cool concept in surviving the halo blast, but enough. The game failed miserably and as a major fan of the franchise, I think it'd probably be best for them to just let it fade away already. Master Chief should have just gone to sleep and that should've been it.
They would have made so much money if they linked thier revenue to halos niche of being fun instead of trying to copy everyone else badly. Forge is the core of what halo is. It should have been priority no1.
343 is too corporate, their philosophy (pushed by higher ups) is too much for profit. There's plenty of money to be made. Hell, all of the dopey products they are releasing like the rc hog wouldn't be so stupid if they made a decent videogame that they didn't monetize like hell. Ideally I'd like them to just release forge, give us a custom games browser and full customization of colors, and fix the desync and leave the game. I don't want those sleeze ball corpos touching something that's more than just a money machine. They have a legacy to uphold and they have shat on it.
343 Incompetencies just don’t respect the Halo IP. There have been non-stop retcons since they took over, including their own lore. I doubt corporate higher ups are forcing that Frank O’Connor POS from enjoying the smell of his own farts and shit.
I would honestly prefer a new halo made from scratch in Unreal, I do not like Unreal engine specially with how many issues it has on PCs, but that compared to Infinite on PC??? I would take those stutters anyday in comparison with how bad Infinite is , and if it was lead by Joe staten from the beginning it would be great, I think it would be the only way I could be excited for halo again
I understand why the Blam engine is ICONIC, and I totally agree, same with source, valve games would not be the same if wasn't for the engine with how physics work,etc. But the difference with valve and 343 is that it was made by people that are not working on it anymore, 343 just took the engine and tried to understand it, and after 3 games they still don't know how to handle it, and with the state of how 343 is with the hiring process and 18 months contracts is not feasible to train people to a new engine that only is used in this specific game to then be fired in 12 months. It hurts but I think is better to just make a custom branch of unreal :/

Unreal Engine 5 is not a silver bullet, sure, AAA devs can replicate Titanfall's movement and/or Halo's mechanics in UE5 as long as it is competent

And that is why I refuse to buy any game unless it is three to four years old. It doesn't matter if the game is harder to find or it is no longer talked about, or even if no one is playing it anymore, I won't fucking buy a game if the content it has at the moment doesn't logically match the ludicrous price tag.
It's the reason why I don't have Infinite and am still playing Halo 5 for the foreseeable future. But I don't think handing off the Halo franchise to another developer is going to make things better (keep in mind that the last time this happened, we got the DCEU, which I'm fully believing should just be burned to the ground and started over, not because it's bad, but because it's not worth the arguments).
343 should stick to their guns, listen to feedback and make a game that matters. I don't give a fuck if we have to wait 20 years for another game (or what anyone else thinks of waiting for another 20 years), make it worth it!

Man. I can say with absolute certainty, if we see an announcement for a new Halo game in the next 2 years, I will have zero hype for it. Infinite will be the last Halo game I ever buy. I'll just stick to the MCC where everything is perfect right now. I can still play my favorites the way I want to play them.

Add some new stuff
Fix bugs
THEN make a new game😂

Lol heres me hoping for them to get up and go from halo infinite. If the engine is that hard and broken to work with why bother wasting years of time dealing with the engines bs when u can just go to a new one that hasnt got the same issues, make an entire game in the same amount of time as it would take to fix all the issues with the current engine and game. I get what ur saying about them needing to create good faith in them from an outside perspective so people actually buy the next halo game knowing oh well they can make something great eventually instead of oh the last thing they made was terrible. But, honnestly I think we r beyond redemtion arks for 343, they already had 1 with MCC, even porting it to PC and then infinite came and put them back to the start. Idk they had 1 redemption ark and it didnt matter anyway in the end and with the past showing they have fixed another one of their titles already and still screwed up thje next one, if they fixed infinite whats making people not remember that moment and think to themself, this has happened before so the past could repeat itself. This was terrible english but I had typed this out once and accidentally delted it so here is a terrible rushed version of what I said before but it makes enough sense hopefully.
