I know this is an old video but I just recently replaced my Mr Coffee 12 cup coffee maker and these filtration discs were included. Unfortunately, the manual did not say how to use them and didn't even show how they go into the filter basket. I'm sure it could be fairly self explanatory if you just tried to figure it out but I wanted to make sure because you don't want to end up with a mess all over your kitchen if you know what I mean. I filter all of my water with a Clearly Filtered pitcher but I am going to use these discs (mine came with 3) and see if I notice any difference. Glad I found this video though.
No I just got one and if I did not look up the video, I would not know about the whole month thing. They should definitely put that in instructions lol
Same deal with me. Not in the manual so I came here to figure it out. But hey man, the coffee maker was $19.99. At this price point it may be some time before the redo manuals. My old Mr Coffee machine lasted 20 years. We'll see how this one does.
I was so confused until I found this video, also mine didn't have a brewing basket so I guess I will be going back and finding that or the paper liners
Thank you!! I recently received a Mr. Coffee programmable Coffee Maker and as someone else said, the "manual" didn't say how to use the filtration discs. I am glad you posted to UA-cam!
This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.
Mine came with filters but doesn’t have the the filtration friendly signage on the bottom of the basket. The filter seems to still fit over the basket. Can I and should I still use the filter with my coffeemaker?
I honestly didn’t think there would be a difference in the taste but I can definitely tell. Brewed one cup without filter and one with. Yeah I can tell the difference.
i just got this machine and the replaceable filter doesn't seem to be insertable the way this one is.... what am i missing? does it just sit on the top?!
I got Dishwasher breakdown model. Bought the advanced filter and disk filter. On top of that I use filtered water. Gotta say Triple filtered coffee is 👌
Why wouldn't my basket in my mr coffee coffee maker not be able to use a water filtration filter when it comes with it? Just wondering what logic is that.
Making coffee without the filter made a mess with coffee grounds overflowing in basket and coffee pot with coffee grounds. What a pain it is to use with it.
It is a flat disk that sits on top of the basket. You do not have to use it, it's optional. The water goes through the filter before saturating the coffee grounds.
How many regular paper coffee filters are the right number to use when making coffee. My husband and I do not agree to the number. I say 2 or 3, he uses up to 6 or 7. Does using more coffee filters slow down the filtration system and make richer coffee?
even after rinsing it and using multiple times the filter made my coffee taste like chemicals, i even tested it over a glass of water and drank it and it tasted awful idk what's up with it
bad coffee pot accidently bought. I now have the cheaper yet still MR. Coffee in my opinion better coffee pot. Always use purified water when making coffee.
Confusion abounds. There are 2 filters. One is for the basket to hold the grounds, the other sits on top of the basket to filter the water. Using the coffeemaker without the basket filter will be a mess!
Have not even used the machine yet, but I was not impressed by the lack of information in the manual. Not a single bit of info. to help place the water filter in the correct position, lousy positioning of the filter basket (hard to tell if it is seated properly). They want to sell you more filter discs without any mention of it in the "manual". I feel like throwing the whole thing through the window at the store where I bought it. What ever happened to good coffee makers?
I guarantee I'll never buy another coffee maker with this design. In fact. The JW series has made absolutely sure I'll never buy from Mr. Coffee again. If I can't even find a Black and Decker with one filter and one on/off button, I'm buying a french press.

Thank you for this video. All the other videos and even instructions didn't explain how to use the filter or even where to put it.

Same! I was so confused...

Thank you for your video nobody told me to fill the side of it with water... now I know ❤
Thank you! I was so confused on what to do with this piece. BTW the manual does not mention this at all so thanks again.

Same...not sure if it can be used if there is no mark.
Do you have to use the filter
I am wondering the same thing, coffee seems very weak
No
@@wilmachristy9142 how can the coffee be "weak" when this filter is before the coffee grounds?
No you don’t HAVE to. But if you don’t want coffee that tastes like it was brewed with pool water I would suggest using this or purified water
chris haffer what if I filter the water before hand?
I honestly didn’t think there would be a difference in the taste but I can definitely tell. Brewed one cup without filter and one with. Yeah I can tell the difference.
instead of water i use vodka
i just got this machine and the replaceable filter doesn't seem to be insertable the way this one is.... what am i missing? does it just sit on the top?!
Julian Walker I had the same experience and my brews were * watery*. Not certain why?
I noticed the same but you have to press it in a little. My lid wouldn't close but once you press it now, it'll close
There are 'slots' it sit in, in the basket..
I bought the 12 cup coffee maker and it came with a filter and the things isn't W F friendly lol. Wtf
same here smh searching youtube videos trying to figure out how to put it together for nobreason…
I have a water filter pitcher. Don't need this but it's a cool idea if you don't have a pitcher.
Buenos días En El Salvador Dónde puede comprar el filtro ?

i came here with the same problem, if i dont use the water filter, my pot gets coffee grounds, have your found the solution?

You use one .

I recommend not using same filter more than 10 times
10 times? No way.
How does the filter do it's job, if the filter is made to sit on top of the Brewer area?
It’s under the spout that water comes from it filters through to the grounds
