Thank you Arihant for raising this up I am from Jammu province and this is a reality that the whole focus of militants has shifted to Jammu province esp Rajouri and poonch and sadly the central govt still wants to make naya kashmir and appease Kashmir special thanks to Ajay sir the govt needs to wake up and give focus to those people of Jammu who brought them to the place where they are today rather than appeasing shit in Kashmir 🙏🙏

Such military veterans like Col Raina are wasted by retiring them at Below 55. These hardcore military guys precious experience is badly needed for Bhaarat - re-employ all retd faujis till they are 60-65 yrs, in multiple roles as best alternative for all IAS/IPS in various central govt Ministries - not just MoD, these military veterans are useful assets for National security , Judiciary, MEA, MoFinance, even PMO, etc.

There's this culture that civilians cannot question the tactics of the army. This is absolutely weird, public question because we don't want our jawans and officers to die or get injured. The number of officer deaths is unacceptable for a country with such massive economy and resources. We need better tactics and be patient like Col Raina mentioned. I hope there's accountabilities for our losses

It's a daft take. It's not some guys in uniform dying it's our brothers sons and fathers, and it doesn't require going through boot camp to see that there is something wrong.
Such high casualties are unacceptable, it shows that the leaders are taking shitty decisions (as they have been since Kargil), with 0 repercussion because nothing is changing. We lose 4 SF boys for 4 hajjis in flip flops and you expect us not to question such appalling statistics?

Now thats what I called experience, which is far more than training and learning...This man has beautifully pointed out the faults, which needs to be rectified. And the important point which has emerged from this convo is that the 'SF' and the name nitself suggest special forces..Why we use it for each and every situation rather than what they are expert at....Infact as sir has told, instead of fast paced operation, we need to focus on efficient and effective operation, which is best know by company commander of that area coz he is familiar with the terrain...and yeah SF can assist them in Operation but cannot replace local army...In fact I feel high officials of the military needs to analyse each and every operation ,casualty, and many other aspect of an operation at local unit level and at bigger level as well from other units experience, can have a joint meetings of the corp and brigade and must discuss about the faults and ways to become more efficient, less casualty amd good output..Thanks Vaad for bringing such amazing insights of our army and the problems they face apart from operations..And as far the public is concerned, public may not know the real ground situation, bit overall they get an indea when something doesn't work out...👍❤️🇮🇳

These incompetent Indian civil servants - IAS/IPS are the root cause of terror attacks & military casualties due to unaccountable military decisions by Civil servants.
The ruling BJP political leadership is best advised by empowering military officer's in all military matters.
Failed civil admin is the reason why military is handling disturbed areas, hence the incompetent babus are best kept out of all micro issues.

I would like to point to the Col that this scheme of keeping the best has been tried out many times in the Corporate world. It never worked. The reason is that in reality the not-good guys work together to pull the good guys down. So, on the ground, the best guys get demotivated & are happy to leave, because they are capable & can get work elsewhere.

I am from Rajouri there are a lot of army units in. Rajouri specialy RR posts are every where you can get a army camp within 5-10 km everywhere .so sir saying lack of army in Rajouri is misleading.

Bro agniveer is an amazing scheme. The average age of Indian Army operators is approx. 30 Yrs. and not all are combat ready. Infact can't fight anymore, bcs they have lost the fitness. But, if a soldier is 40 yr. old and not fit to serve, they cant be laid off at this age, because they wont get proper jobs at that age, other than, being a mere gate keeper or a private security gate (not even a body guard).
Now, in Agniveer scheme the soldier leaving the army will be in early 20s with a few lacs in his bank account. He can marry and start his life with that money. Or he can study further and become engineer, doctor, lawyer, entrepreneur etc.
Now, the best part of the scheme. Just like Israel, the boys who went out, are still trained and battle hardened soldiers. At any point of time, in the moment of crisis, they can be called back and given a refresher training for 30 days, and they are again ready to fight for their country.
Brother, 60-70% of your army budget is going in salaries and pensions. And at any given point of time, not even 20% of the army was deployed in any of the 3-4 wars, that we have fought. And pls don't forget, we have huge para military capability. CRPF, RAF, CISF, Assam Rifles, Establishment 22, PAC, State police forces, ITBP, BSF, SSB, Territorial Army etc. are all armed and trained.
By Agniveer, we will gain on many things-
1. Reduce average age of army, so we will have young, strong, agile operators.
2. Incapable or inefficient operators are relieved with handsome bank balance to live their life comfortably.
3. Most of the boys will be unmarried, so in case somebody is martyred, he will not leave a helpless wife with six month old babies behind.
4. Huge saving in Defence budget, to buy latest and modern equipment.
5. Ex-army citizens, who can be brought in for battle, after a refresher training in desperate times. But he is not on active payroll.
6. After getting relieved from active service, a 22-23 yr. old, highly disciplined young men, working as engineers, teachers, police officers etc. Highly motivated and target oriented and efficient in anything he does.

Apart from significantly reducing the road distance between Poonch and Uri to just 56 km compared to the current 282 km long revived old Mughal route via the Poonch Valley, Shopian and Srinagar, the Haji Pir Bulge provides a direct ingress to both the Jammu region and the Kashmir Valley. And it is through this since militarily heavy fortified Pass, infamously returned to Pakistan five months after its capture, that Islamabad has been infiltrating terrorists into J&K for the last 27 years.
