India was forced by USA and Russia to return the conquered territory. This was despite that Pakistan had more modern TANKS (Patton) and fighter aircraft (star fighter).

For your knowldge when you attacked kashmir in 1947. Indian army was not in j&k. When you attacked kashmir, mahara hari singh then he signed instrument of accession treaty with india. And joined indian union. Later indian army went to kick you ass in j&k. In that context entire j&k including pok is part of india

Another fact that Mr Hamid has conveniently ignored is that when cease fire happened Pakistani Army has just 3 days of ammunition left whereas Indian Army had approx 28 days of Ammunition left so imagine what would have happened had the war continued for more than 3 days. The Pakistani Army would anyways have surrendered and cease fire was indeed a mis step for India

There was NO uprising in India in 1964, there were no tribals but 100% Pakistan Army which was sent to Kashmir in CIVIL CLOTHES as intruders during operation Gibraltar. Air Martial Asgar Khan has s[ecified that all wars against India were started by Pakistan and Pakistan LOST them badly.

I have witnessed the 1965 war as a kid in jodhpur. Pakistan planes penetrated the jodhpur air space but they could not cause any damage. At Punjab border India destroyed so many Patton tanks of Pakistan that after the war American Embassy staff visited the site and were shocked to see the number of American tanks destroyed. Gen. Gurbux Singh didn't let Pakistan enter India's land

Factually incorrect. Pakistan Army had mission objectives while Indian Armed Forces took retaliatory/defensive actions. A military historian knows that any country which goes to war first lays down 'Objectives to be achieved through war'. Who is the aggressor & who is the defender gets defined by the 'Objectives' laid down by both the parties. In 1965 war, Pakistan Army had the aggressor's objective which was "To capture territory to force further intervention in Kashmir". Since India had no territorial ambitions, India laid down national objective of "Foiling aggressive attempts of Pakistan & prevent loss of territory". Pakistan failed in achieving all its laid down objectives. Indian Army just reacted to Pakistan's aggressive action. Defensive operations can begin before the aggressor undertakes it's offensive. Military historians know that 'Defence' is carried out with an offensive attitude. A well planned military defence is planned in a manner so that fighting is carried out in enemies territory. When the Indian Army tried to go to Lahore etc, it was a defensive operation against Pakistan's aggression. Thus, the end result is that India didn't let the Pakistan Army achieve its laid down objectives. India didn't lose its territory. Yes, in its defensive operation, India also didn't achieve certain parts of its plan. However, in this discussion, these two are not even able to differentiate between aggressor & defender. A war cannot happen between two defending forces !!

In 1948 Pakistan took what is now called Gilgit baltistan and AZAAD Kashmir.
In 1965, we defended Lahore and Sialkot against 3 times larger army.
1971 we lost.
1999, we took in battle the tiger hills. It was US pressure that we stepped back. Indian couldn't just do anything...

Mir sb you discussed and highlighted the heros of 1965 war but I am sorry to state that you ignore the main 2 brother Hero's, who were deputed at Chamb Jorian and Chiwinda. They were : namely one Lt Gen. Akhtar H. Malik and the second was Brig. Abdul Ali Malik (who both were belong to Ahmadya community) Also many many others exists who performed bravely in Air force n Navy also.
In 1965 the weakness of Pakistan was East Pakistan which could have easily been captured by India.
Mir Sahib does not mention that in 1947 tribal readers reached Baramulla which is only 32 miles from Srinagar on 26 October 1947 morning and could have captured Srinagar by noon. Instead tribal readers rested at Baramulla to loot . The Indian Army landed at Srinagar on 27 October morning.

hmm.. India lost the 1947-48 war with Pakistan and lost some territories with Pakistan. 1965 war was a stalemate as per the Tashkent agreement.
War is won politically. Again in the 1971 war, Pakistan forced India to sign the Simla agreement.
The only wars that India has won are the Siachin and the 1999 Kargil war.

1965 war was planned and started by Pakistan to liberate Kashmir. It failed to do that. The mission was not accomplished. On the other hand, India defended Kashmir brilliantly and prevented the Paksitani takeover. In the end, India won.

Pakistan lost 1965 because of hate for Ahmadiya Muslim. Pak Gen who achieved success was called back because he was Ahmadiya and was replaced by Gen Yayha so that Ahmadiya must not get credit of victory. Due to this pak army stopped for 24 hrs and this was enough for Indian army enough time to replenish itself and push back Pak army
