This was an absolute fantastic sxs review and I'm so excited about this channel and all the atv and sxs reviews to come. So much better than the DT reviews where they just quote book specs and drive, ride like lunatics and only air a 10 minute segment. You are going to be a busy guy reviewing autos and recreation vehicles. TFL has done very well getting you on board. I loved the fly swatting scene at the end, great touch. What a laugh!

Hi Just watched your Honda Pioneer 1000 vid and now this one. I'm impressed(no, super impressed). Excellent communication skills, a tad of humour and a stack of information. Great work.
We, in Australia are currently have in a few issues with the heat. Too hot and to much of it(a few days of around 43-45c) so it's nice to be inside watching your fantastic videos.

Outstanding review. Dare I say the best I've ever seen in The Fast Lane. Agree that the camo paint job is expensive. The only reason I'd opt for it is when the machine gets scratched, the camo paint isn't going to look as bad as some shiny clear coat paint job. Thanks again for a GREAT review!

Everyone has their own likes. That's why we have different brands of just about anything. My son has a Yamaha rhino that has been a great machine. Brake job is the only thing a wrench has touched. It's 5 years old and really used on the farm and pleasure. I just bought my first side by side about a year ago. It's a can am 800 XT defender. Absolutely love it. No issues so far. I think all the name brands make good units. Treatment and maintenance are the key.

Jamie Shields The truck arguement doesn't hold up though, these can do things that trucks can't and vice versa. I'm not taking my truck up powerlines during hunt season, too large, too heavy, and too easy to break. These also make sense for certain work crews who have to get to remote areas like hydro crews, fire marshals, fish and game etc.

Good review...I would encourage you to review the specs for the Defender XT10 again and try one out for a while for comparison if the opportunity presents itself. The payload is the same with the XP1000 having a higher towing capacity (2,500lbs. vs. 2,000lbs.), but Can-Am increased the XT10 towing capacity to 2,500lbs. for 2019 so that's now a wash also. Now the biggest difference between the two is horsepower with the XP1000 having 82hp and the XT10 having 72hp. I have owned both and enjoyed both, but now only have the Defender. Personally, I pushed both machines hard and didn't really notice a difference concerning horsepower. I found them to be extremely comparable machines for both work and play. These manufacturers, especially Polaris and Can-Am, are constantly pushing one another in the off-road market which is good for consumers. I've notice it comes down to brand loyalty and when you decided to make a purchase. Because if one changes any performance aspect of their machine you can be sure the other will change within the next year.

Hi, great reviews. I understand that the machine is a work horse and can be pretty nice on trail riding but, you never talk about reliability. What about the clutch issue, hard shifting thing, multiple recall , the so many stories from 0eople that pass more time in dealership than trail Riding ? Do we need to worry about those or it juste some isolated issues. I try to decide if I pull the trigger on the 2019 1000xp or a Yamaha x2 2019 for same price.
