So, this is how I find out that Snoop Dogg is selling cereal now 😂 I haven't seen it in stores, I think they haven't gotten down here yet. The large wheat squares are still available in some places. Post and Nestlé still make them. They're called shredded wheat.
I'd love to see the orange juice and cereal taste test. It probably works better with the "healthier" cereals than the super sugary ones, but you should try some of each just to be sure.
this was honey nut cheerios. once, when i was really young, i poured my cereal before checking if we had any milk in the fridge. to my horror, we did not :) so i thought, "i mean, i just need a liquid, right?" so i used orange juice. WAS NOT GOOD. terrible, in fact. i must have really wanted to eat cereal, bc i poured another bowl and tried with water, now thinking, "liquid, but flavorless, right?" NO. now, i only eat cereal dry, or with milk. also, i won't touch orange juice. LOL
I believe both Froot Loops and Apple Jacks have gotten thicker in recent years. The loops used to be thinner like in Snoop's version. My current favorite cereals are Chocolate Toast Crunch and Count Chocula.

Froot Loops smell like bergamot to me (the flavor in earl grey tea). I'm surprised the Snoop cereal doesn't do more overt marketing to young adult stoners as opposed to kids, though I also kind of love that each of his cereals has a different dog mascot. I'm glad you compared the nutritional information but I wish you would have compared the ingredients lists. Just read a review that mentions the proceeds go to charities that help homeless families and fight food poverty. Pretty cool. I was telling my husband about this and showed him a box and he said he saw them but they weren't in the cereal aisle (they were on an endcap) so he thought they were promoting a dog treat. 😂
I've tried orange juice with cereal (raisin bran, cornflakes), and it's ok. I definitely prefer milk, but if I couldn't have milk I'd go for orange juice over water. (although realistically, I'd do an alternative milk like macadamia!)
Snoop cereals are nothing more than malto meal cereals packaged for him. They are both made by Post cereals. Just buy the malto meal bagged cereals. Same exact cereal. Both brands are distributed by Post consumer brands.
@@auntlynnieI was a backwards ass kid... Raisin Bran was one of my favorites lol I hated Lucky Charms or any cereal with those nasty ass marshmallows.
I actually thought Snoop was like a Post off Brand version. On the side of the box of the shredded wheat snoop it says " Post". When I bought the snoop cereal the other week it was on sale for $1.00 in my local regular non discount Grocery Store. I'm one of the weird ones who eat Snoop Shredded Wheats dry. I work early so it's easy to eat out of the box on the way to work.
I am allergic to dairy, and have been known to have my cereal with juice (usually apple juice though) when I have run out of my non-dairy milk. It does taste good. I would not want to have it on a sweetened cereal though - but something like cornflakes or cherios, it is good.
@@recoveringsoul755 They partnered with Post to produce the cereal and Post owns the Malt-O-Meal brand which has the same type of cereal. It's possibly the same product or a slightly modified recipe I'm assuming.
My only guess as to why the Frosted Drizzlers tasted sweeter despite having the same amount of sugar is perhaps whatever variety of wheat they source is just inherently sweeter on the palate? I doubt they used spelt lol, but as a baker I notice spelt adds a sort of mild nutty sweetness to whatever it's in, and definitely comes out even more in the presence of any additional sweetener. Perhaps the Drizzlers started from a sweeter base grain.
I always keep Frosted Mini Wheats (or the Malt-O-Meal version bulk bags) in my pantry, along with Oops! All Berries and Grape-Nuts (yes, I'm one of the freaks who like those). I kinda like the mini wheats dry as a snack. I tried Fruity Cheerios when they came out, but they weren't as good as Froot Loops.
All things being even, via taste, I would purchase the Snoop cereals as they seem to be a lot cheaper. I would need to check for red dye #40 because I have a severe allergy to it. But Froot Loops were never my favorite so I should be okay. LOL Cinnamon Toast Crunch is a favorite as well as Apple Jacks!
Regular Shredded Wheat large biscuits are eaten by being soaked with boiling water. This was passed down from my grandparents. The water was poured off, then the biscuits were buttered and sugared, even a sprinkle of salt. That's how I like them. They sometimes added cream. A family member dilutes nut milk with water and puts that on their cereal.
I remember there was directions on the box for hot cereal. It was good I tried it. I liked soggy Wheaties when I was tiny. I remember letting it get soggy first. Strange child😊
The price of Snoop's cereal alone is worth giving it a try. I once had a thing for froot loops but my children love cinnamon toast crunch and frosted mini wheats, me not so much. To each it's own 😊. Thank you for sharing this was a fun little comparison and brought back some fun childhood memories.
Another great video! Texture is such a huge part of eating cereal and I'm curious if they absorbed liquid at similar rates or if one got soggier after soaking in the milk for a minute or two than the other.
I'm celiac and can't have gluten so I appreciate that you are able to try them for us whom can't eat them. I'm from Australia and some of these cereals are available but not all.
Wow! I've never heard of cereal and juice. I'm definitely odd in that I've never been a fan of liquid with cereal at all. I've ate it dry for as long as I can remember. Even mini wheats! Would love an orange juice and raisin bran taste test.
You need to check where the Snoop cereals production is done. Many large food companies will make the same cereals in for various food labels. Kind of like Trader Joe’s and ALDIs are under the same umbrella. Just because the “brands” are different doesn’t mean they don’t go through the same production company.
Now Im craving some good old kiddie cereal. We are so much more health conscious then years ago but I would love to treat myself . Snoop cereals sound like true contender.
Ever since John Green said he eats cereal with water instead of milk... I have started that because he's right: despite how disturbing it sounds to many, the difference is not as much as you'd think. Definitely best for any cereal you like the flavor enough to eat dry... because now with water that becomes the main flavor! And there's so much sugar and other flavoring on fun cereals that it turns the water into a candy-like beverage still anyway just like it does with milk.
I love (d) the little marshmallows in Lucky Charms. I purchased a bag of the marshmallows on Amazon. It was a childhood dream come true. 👶 Thanks for the comparison video Emmy.
One of my favorite things about you is that, unlike some other food related channels, you finish chewing before speaking. The sound of food smacking is one of the most horrendous sounds and I really appreciate that you don't do that. Also, it makes total sense that Snoop is making cereal. When one partakes in elevating their altitude, cereal is the perfect snack.
The snoop fruity hoops look exactly like the ones you get here in England (minus the blue as theyre banned) overall the ingredients are slightly different, especially with only natural food coloring and less sugar.
I have eaten my cereal with iced coffee. Not too bad. 😅 My dad was very lactose intolerant so he ate his cereal with juice. He said it was delicious. I'll take his word. To each his own, I guess .
Ice coffee sounds a hell of a lot better in cereal than tap water like I've heard some people (like John Green) use. I've never tried that either, but I have tried Half and Half and various kinds of plant milks.
When Emmy was talking about not eating dry whey cereal my thought was don’t eat Chex cereal not in a chex mix we had a box of left over Chex cereal from making a thing of Chex mix I had a bowl of it and plain it was awful and because in Canada for some reason we have the cereal in stores but we don’t have the premade Chex mix the closest we have is called bits and bites
As a kid, my sister and I would have Muffets cereal, porridge, oats or as a treat a few times a year, Cap'n crunch cereal. Muffets in the US are known as Quaker Shredded Wheat. In my 20's, Cap'n crunch was my go-to breakfast 😂 I'm going to look and see if Snoop's cereal is available in C 🇨🇦. I hope so 🤞
Perhaps almond milk would be a good alternative to orange juice? I recently found I really enjoy almond milk. It also doesn't cost as much as it did when it first came out. 😁 Try the vanilla version.
I like eating frosted shredded mini wheats dry. Makes a great crunchy snack. A few times per month I used to take a serving in a baggy and eat them dry for breakfast while driving to work!
I am a lactose intolerant-ish and I don't often drink milk. I usually use oat or almond milk. But when I've been out of nut milk, I normally eat cereal without milk. But... I have been known, when I don't want to cut up the roof of my mouth to use cold unsweetened tea. I don't mind it. I sometimes tell this factoid to friends to see who's paying attention.
Back in the day, my struggle meal of choice when my family ran out of milk would be water on Corn Flakes. Put some sugar & bananas on it, it was edible, but not a favorite. Later, I would dilute some evaporated milk with equal parts water & that was better or just as good as regular whole milk
There's no one i trust more on the planet as far as cereal than Snoop. I already know they're gonna be banging🎉 (also, cinnamon toast crunch DOES have that waxy/oily residue that I just can't get past. I always thought that was just me)
As a kid growing up in New York when it would snow my mom could not get to the store she would trick us with powered milk. I sometimes find myself using it to eat cereal. Just got use to it. Keep in mind this was the 70s and we lived in Long Island before it became so expensive.
I recently bought some powdered milk cause I remembered my mom having it on hand for when we were out of milk. I've had too many times where my milk had gone bad and I wanted a bowl of cereal. Now I'm covered.
9:47 I sometimes have cereal with yogurt instead of milk. which makes sense to me, like a parfait type situation, ya know? BUT... I know someone who doesn't like milk, she prefers her cereal with heavy cream (she doesn't eat cereal often, don't worry) and she also mentioned she enjoys a bowl of cottage cheese with cereal. I guess it's not too weird, it's all dairy, so I won't judge.
Doesn't count as not-milk necessarily but whenever we were out of milk and I craved cereal (or cocoa) mom told me to just... water down the evaporated milk she uses for coffee. It doesn't really work but honestly it does add an additional dimension in cocoa. (Evaporated milk is not the same as condensed milk, its not thick or sweetened, it has higher fat content and I think as the name suggest less water, more milk solids, at least as I understand it. Great for tea or coffee) I also don't like soggy cereal but I don't liike it too hard either, since my favorite cereal is just cornflakes (yes I know, boring, but hey) I always wait a bit so they just about soften but not completely. I have to be fast because when they DO start to get soggy they're inedible.
Fun video Emmy, I've never seen the Snoop cereal before. Milk alternatives, I don't remember exactly what cereal it was but I think it was something chocolatey. I had a big craving for cereal with milk but no milk of any kind. I did have cold brew coffee in the fridge though. I poured some on and it was really good! It probably wouldn't have been as good if it wasn't a chocolatey cereal but I would totally eat it like that again.
Have you ever compared the name brand vs the malt-o-meal? I've always said that almost all of the M-o-M cereals taste better than the name brand counterpart. I'd be very into seeing a side by side for as many flavors as you can, lol.
Growing up I had issues with milk so when I had a cold I use to eat cereal with apple juice or apple cider. It isn’t that bad it does depend on the cereal though
Maybe Snoop has gotten rid of the dye ahead of the health department wanting it gone. I used to be able to buy the cereal marshmallows in the store. Haven’t seen them in a long time.
Yeah the Snoop Dogg Hoopz actually look exactly like Kellogg's Fruit Loops now look in the EU, where I believe regulation on food coloring is much stricter than in the US.
When you were comparing the calories of the frosted wheat cereals, the serving size of the frosted drizzlers was at 21 biscuits while the frosted mini wheats were at 25. That may have given them a similar amount in calories.
I just did a taste test on my channel specifically using OJ on cereal to try it out and see if it does work. I found that it's best consumed dry if giving only the choice of OJ as the floating liquid. You can do it but Pick cereals that would be a good combination with an orange flavor.
I still buy and eat the large shredded wheat biscuits!! They're great if you pour boiling water over and then top with butter and some seasoned salt (I use Tony Chachere's). YUM!
Watching this made me realize that I am very weird..lol. I Love eating Frosted Mini Wheat right out of the box dry. I also love it when it is nice and soft and full of milk.
My sister is lactose intolerant so she eats her cereal with almond milk. I tried it and it is so light and pure tasting that you can really taste the cereal, but it is not dry. It's good in coffee too if you like something that is fat free. Now I buy almond milk too. Yum 😋
I wanted to see if they're fortified like regular kid cereal (they are) and learned that portion of proceeds go to those in need through Post Consumer Brands "future bosses" program.
I use vanilla almond milk because dairy doesn't sit well with me. But wheat doesn't sit well with me either these days, so I eat mostly oat and corn or rice based cereals now.
Emmie I had a friend who always put orange juice on her sweetened cereal. She said she didn't need milk because it was sweet. She was 80 years old and most definitely set in her ways
I wud def grab snoops cereal ...its def worth a try ...the classic name brand cereals dont even taste the same ...too many gmo by products...fruity peebles aint the same ..cinn toast crunch ...so bad u see golden grahams retro recipe ...i hope they win ...
I like to top my yoghurt ( Its called "Dahi" in India) with cornflakes. Sometimes I sweeten it with honey or even sugar. 😅 In fact that's the only way I eat it. I don't know if its common or not. 😀
You should do a series on cereals with other liquid options. Like I am an unsweetened vanilla almond milk lady, but I have heard other people use orange juice, apple juice or whole knows what else. Try different cereals with different juices! Healthy and sugary kids cereals to get an even assessment. And different textures. Your shredded wheats types, raisin brans, fruity, cinnamon somethings with an apple cider? Waffle crisp, cinnamon toast crunch, etc would be good possibly with an apple cider! In other news, Honeycomb is by far my favorite cereal of all time and I eat it every day. But growing up I ate ANY cereal. It is and always has been my comfort food. And I ate the healthy adult targeted ones and the sugary children targeted ones. I loved them all. Anyone else remember Honey Graham Ohs by Post? They changed them a while back and they are different now.
If the Snoop cinnamon cereal was more cinnamony then I’d def start buying that, because I actually add cinnamon to my Cinnamon Toast Crunch when I eat it. I also add more cinnamon to the Cinnamon Life. I guess the message here is that I love the flavor of cinnamon on cereal. 😂
Orange juice maybe in Cheerios . But it would be way too much sugar and acid for y tase. Oat milk, Almond milk you don’t have to add as much sugar. To an unsweetened cereal.
Even though the Froot Loops have less sugar than the Fruity Hoops, they have more dietary fiber. Maybe that's why they have the same amount of calories.
Now I need to get some breakfast, I'm starving! Back in the 80s, I lived in Omaha, not far from the Kellogg's factory and had a neighbor who worked at the plant. I had to ask him what they were making a couple of days before when the air was redolent with the smell of stewed prunes. He told me they were making Froot Loops that day. I've never been able to eat them since!
When I ran out of milk i put cokd water on my cereal. I hate soggy cereal though. So i use very little liquid on cereal anyway. Raisin bran with maybe a few tablespoons of milk. Damp cereal I also don't want to waste milk or drink leftover cereal milk

I’m wondering if we’re cousins because my mother did the same.
Great for tea or coffee)
I also don't like soggy cereal but I don't liike it too hard either, since my favorite cereal is just cornflakes (yes I know, boring, but hey) I always wait a bit so they just about soften but not completely.
Hey you might be on to something there. I have to try that. 👍
But orange juice?
No. I just can't. It sounds like a horrible nightmare to me!
I just commented the same thing before I read this. It was pretty good, actually. 😁❤️
It would have been interesting if you would have added the malt-o-mean version of the cereals to the mix.
Frosted Corn Flakes with ice cold Buttermilk is a quirky pleasure of mine.
They are produced by post also, which is owned by General Mills so it’s all the same company
My Great Uncle ate his cereal with orange juice, coffee or plain water!
they sell fruit loops with marshmallows too apparently, and they come in a purple box similar to snoop's
*You should of got Fruit loops with marshmallows. They have that in some stores.*
Have you ever compared the name brand vs the malt-o-meal? I've always said that almost all of the M-o-M cereals taste better than the name brand counterpart. I'd be very into seeing a side by side for as many flavors as you can, lol.
I love how you hated eating the frosted wheat cereal dry, because I absolutely love eating them as a dry snack. 😅
But maybe I’m crazy.
Same!!
Yes you can still buy the regular large shredded wheat
Loved watching your video, Emmy. It was fantastic and so much fun to watch you react to the different flavors and textures. Great fun.🎉
Still have them here.
I can totally snack on frosted mini wheats dry. Not in large quantities but a little handful, for sure.
I actually bought Snoop cereal thinking it was the store brand 😂
I use vanilla almond milk because dairy doesn't sit well with me. But wheat doesn't sit well with me either these days, so I eat mostly oat and corn or rice based cereals now.
Emmie I had a friend who always put orange juice on her sweetened cereal. She said she didn't need milk because it was sweet. She was 80 years old and most definitely set in her ways
My late mother in law would use coffee in her cereal.
I've never done orange juice, but I eat cereal with water (I don't usually have milk on hand) all the time.
I grew up eating shredded wheat with hot milk and butter, the same with grape nuts
Love hot Grape Nuts too
I wud def grab snoops cereal ...its def worth a try ...the classic name brand cereals dont even taste the same ...too many gmo by products...fruity peebles aint the same ..cinn toast crunch ...so bad u see golden grahams retro recipe ...i hope they win ...
This lady is so knowledgeable. Her kids will grow up being very smart and eclectic.
Mini wheats are my favorite frosted and the shredded wheat my favorite without sugar
Glad you spoke about the calories and sugar content, that's usually the first thing I go look at. Thank you!
The best is frosted mini wheats with warm milk over them. My mom would do that for me. Its just wonderful!!!!
One of the Green brothers has their cereal with water, which even though I’m very curious just can’t bring myself to try as it seems so wrong.
“Nut, nut, nut, nut it up!” :P
I like to top my yoghurt ( Its called "Dahi" in India) with cornflakes. Sometimes I sweeten it with honey or even sugar. 😅 In fact that's the only way I eat it. I don't know if its common or not. 😀
Please try the orange juice and cereal ! Coming from a fan!
Favorite cereal snack: Post Wheat n Bran Shredded Wheat dipped in peanut butter.
9:48 I use ice cold water from the water machine for my cereal. No milk waste.
I feel Froot Loops have a bergamot scent/flavor, kinda like Earl Grey tea
Anything that is lemon verbena scented smells like froot loops to me. It's definitely a citrusy scent.
When I was 6 I accidentally poured orange juice on my cheerios when I was half asleep. It wasn't my favorite but that's what I ate that morning.
Damp cereal
I also don't want to waste milk or drink leftover cereal milk
I worked with someone who used orange juice in cereal. It’s good depending on the cereal
When I was a toddler/young kid, I couldn’t have milk, and would use OJ.
