You are doing wonderful, Pedro! Be encouraged. You will have some good days and you will have some bad days. But be encourage. Never regret the choices you made and how you end up where you are today. I had to learn that and I had to be kinder to myself and you need to do the same. If you did not have any purpose or no meaning and no impact on others Then these changes and the things that you’re learning about yourself would never come to pass. So remember encourage. Don’t regret because it’s just as worse as anger. They will bring you down and they will imprison you. Be blessed

Being humble instead of insisting that you already know everything about how to handle every situation is a good thing.

you should be proud of going to AA, it's a step in the right direction. and You're right it wouldn't be cool to retell the stories others at AA tell you without their permission.

The shame you're feeling and carrying is the starting point. To dig deep and find the original source of it. Why is it there? Much of these things stem from wayyyy back in childhood. Something you blocked out, etc. It's like peeling layers of an onion. Each one you peel off reveals something new to address and heal. Also, in any kind of awakening, you're going to lose some friends and gain new ones. It doesn't mean they're bad people, it means that they have a journey and healing of their own to handle. Maybe one day, your paths will cross again and have much healing behind you.

Please don’t feel bad. This is something out of your control-but you can, now, take control. Help your daughter see you are taking care of yourself so she will. Please do this now, because if you don’t, I can guarantee life will be rough. My husband waited to long to take care of himself. I miss him and so do his daughters.

My all time high A1C. was 16. My initial diagnosis at the hospital was unexplained vomiting. After my body finally calmed down, they were able to figure out I had diabetes.
My A1C. is now 8 several years later.

Type 1 was started for me at age 3. Now have had it for 41 years. One device that has helped greatly is continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Freestyle libre is somewhat affordable but once I got a cgm my A12 dropped from 9.8 to under 7. Add an insulin pump and it is incredible how much better I feel.
However if your insurance sucks check with your state. In Idaho gig workers can deduct their mileage and other expenses which allows your income to be lower to qualify for Medicaid.
Every state is different but I will say it is so much better now than when I got it in 1983.

Knowledge is key when it comes to health, and in some instances we have to question our doctors, because they are like your local auto mechanic, its hard to be 100 percent all the time, but the question is when did we go wrong with our eating habits ect. as of people where we started to elevate these diseases throughout our history, and do we need to go back to that lifestyle in order to live a longer life, we need to educate ourselves and our children because thats where it starts, take all the emotions and convert it into knowledge Pedro, you got it, first thing is acknowledge the problem as you know

Whatever you do, beware of the alcohol relapse. Im not trying to scare you or anyone else but its a real issue. If you were drinking 6-8 drinks in a day even on occasion its building up an unbelievable tolerance to booze. When a person gets sober that tolerance drops rapidly. Thats a good thing because it means your body is recovering rapidly. But also a very dangerous thing, because mentally an alcoholic can be ruminating subconsciously about drinking. Its only a natural occurrence. So when people relapse it can get ugly real fast because the tolerance is gone but the herculean feats if strength with booze are not. I know several people who went through a stretch or stretches of sobriety only to relapse and one friend didn't make it. Its that dangerous. Sobriety is not to be taken lightly. Greatest thing ever for many but its not a joke.

The dexcom sensor was a game changer for my girl. It tests your blood glucose every 5 min so you always know where your sugars are and alerts you if your sugars are hi or loe. Plus it will dispence insulin. It saved my gf life. It can also alert people you choose via text message if your sugars are off. My gf had A1C close to 10 but now it runs 6.5. I almost lost her when her sugars went to over 1000 a coupple of times. Since she used the Dexcom that has not happened once. Wish you good health and hope you gain control of you diabetes.

There is a major length discussion of shame and guilt in a book I like "Drive Drunk Walk Sober "
This Irish young man drives drunk and causes a tragedy that removes a random father from his children on the way home from an office party.
He spent decades wallowing in shame before he got the counseling he needed to forgive himself in a rehab center.

Type 2 diabetes isn't always caused by diet. Type 2 can be genetic as well. You can't make Type 2 "go away". Once you're diabetic you're always diabetic, but you can definitely control Type 2 better with diet.

I know many people who have completely reversed and eliminated type two diabetes. The biggest lie that the conventional medical industry wants people to believe is that health issues cannot be reversed or cured naturally.
