3:39 "I don't understand why there is no effort made"
This is one aspect that gets better conveyed in the Manga. But basically: it is uncommon for handicapped people to go to a normal public school in Japan but rather to special needs Schools. The only reason Shoko is in "normal" school is that her mother wished for her to go there, to get used to the real world which she knew can and will be harsh for her daughter.
Adding to that: the teacher is clearly an burned out asshole that doesn't give a fuck anymore just going through the motions of his job.

To be fair, I was pleasantly surprised by Boss Baby, but that might be because I watched it shortly after trying to watch Sausage Party(and giving up in disgust after 10 minutes), so in comparison Boss Baby was a goddamn masterpiece! 😄

Some people think that you watch anime they think you're weird. But for me anime has lots of real life situations. And lots of learning and lesson after watching it.

Had a teacher like that in middle school. She'd watch me getting hit with hornets (wads of folded up paper, shot with a rubber band or two), and she'd just continue on like nothing happened... Every day. I cherish the memories of the teachers I had that actually gave a shit. I know they get paid absolute garbage, but still man, some people just suck.

when i was that age i was the class bully target too, and i tried telling every adult around me to do something about it and every single person in the school just told me to "ignore it." except you can see in this very movie what happens when you try to ignore kids bullying you
the really screwed up thing is this was in florida where it's mandatory for public schools to have anti-bully procedures and every school will have those chipper posters about "speaking up" and whatever. but it's all performative apparently bc nobody actually bothers to enforce the laws about it

From being a bully, to start hating yourself so bad to the point where you want to kill yourself, then apologize to Shoko, save her and help her live to finally forgive yourself and then LOVE yourself. How can you not love such a REAL human.

Another movie that goes well together with Your Name and Silent Voice is "I want to eat your pancreas" (despite its odd title).
I'm not sure if i'd suggest Grave of the Fireflies (as a few others did) as this was a level of sad that made me want to throw up. It surely is an experience, but not a very fun one.

Erin, if you want something really soft and heartwarming to watch, try Spy x Family... It's funny, cool, has a good fanbase and it's not that long too (yet). There's no crying here, at least of sadness, maybe tears from joy.
But if you want a masterpiece, try Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, or Steins;Gate or even Sousou no Frieren. Both are GREAT and really worth your time.
And if you want another anime movie recommendation to cry like a baby, try The Grave of the Fireflies. It's a little bit old but the emotional damage still hurts like a bomb.

I wus bullied my whole life in highschool just cuz I luved and grew up watchin power rangers on Netflix and cuz I wus the only Asian kid in an all Aussie skool….. so I stopped watching power rangers and removed them from my watch list all together to try and change so I could maybe grow up a bit more. tht same depression/ anxiety & social anxiety follows me thru my adult life, but I’m trying cuz thts all anyone can do ^-^!

"Suzume no Tojimari" is by the same creator as "Your Name", and in my opinion it's better.
I would highly recommend that movie.
As for a comedy anime, I would recommend "Daily lives of high school boys", it's so funny. It does not have ay real plot, from what I remember, it's just pure hilariousness. I don't know if it would work for the channel, but you can definitely watch it in your free time.

@@braynnwinter4019 The main lesson is that snitching on bullies is a good thing. It always baffles me how much bullying can go on unchecked, when there are so many witnesses. My first day on the job as a substitute teacher I saw a kid try to kick another kid in the back, and I grabbed him by the collar and yanked him back. When he went home he told his dad how "the new teacher strangled me", his dad called the school and after I explained what actually happened the kid got grounded, and I never saw him attack another kid again. It's really not rocket science...
