In Japan, the phrase “The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” is popularly understood to mean “I love you.” This interpretation comes from an anecdote about Natsume Sōseki, a celebrated writer who was once featured on Japanese banknotes. In the scene where Shōko confesses, their conversation seems out of sync, yet it feels as though they are expressing mutual feelings for each other. This creates a profoundly beautiful moment.

Do you really think Kawai is a good person??!??! Don't be fooled by her lies and tears. By the way, the reason why Nishinomiya made a mistake while practicing the chorus was because Kawai deliberately shifted the timing of singing. Please take a good look. There are many things that you can't understand from the surface alone. The most scumbag in this story, the one with the worst personality is Kawai.
Why are you acting like she's the villain? Like, you watch this beautiful story and feel the need to make comments such as these? I feel like some of yall are stuck in Naruto mentality. It's not about being right or wrong jesus... Plus Ali said she didn't like her, and you are not supposed to like her personality but understand it, same way as Ueno. And the end is a bout growing as a person. The movie is not about discussing who's the wrong one
2 minutes in and she's sobbing when literally nothing has happened yet 😆Movie is about to destroy Ali. ⚠*BY THE WAY! PSA! Silent Voice is coming to theaters across the USA! GO WATCH IT WHILE YOU CAN IN CINEMA'S!* ⚠
Please ignore all the Your Lie In April suggestions. That show might actually kill you. Saddest thing I have ever watched and even though they telegraph it right from E2 the ending is still the most beautiful and devastating scene in any anime I have seen. That being said, if you love music (classical) it is one of the most stunning shows you will ever see, and the animation switch during the performances is insane. Most beautiful anime out there...but so heart-breaking that it's hard to recommend to anyone with a gentle empathetic soul. I would go with A Sign of Affection - also beautifully animated and with a deaf MC.
my summary and analysis ------------------------ Ishida's mom is still very young, and is the blonde haired one (yes, that's Ishida's mom, lol), and trying to be a single-parent-mom too, barely making enough money to support the family, as a hair-stylist, using her home as her business (or vice versa, living in her/the hair style shop, meh) Ishida does have an older sister too (we never really get to see her, aside from the scene of just seeing her bare s'xy wet legs, likely just coming out of the shower/bath, hehe, hope she wasn't naked in front of her younger brother Ishida, lol, and also during the fireworks, we see a side view of her, but never her face), who married that darker skinned guy that we briefly see from time to time, and who has cute sweet adorable child, Maria, with the darker skin from her father. The darker skinned father, might be a foreigner (or not) and soldier/military (navy maybe?), so he's often gone, on deployments, why he pops in and out during the anime. Ishida's older sister does seem to be doing pretty well, though Maria is constantly being taken care of by Ishida's mom, as Ishida's older sister seems to not be around too much either (maybe she's in college still, meh, who knows), but maybe they too don't have much money Elementary/Grade school years: when we first see ishida as a little kid when he was popular and had his group of "friends", and when Shoko (the initially partially deaf girl in both ears) first showed up as a new student, and into shoko's abuse, and ishida finally getting called out on it in school (due to him ripping out her new first time using hearing aid implants, with her bleeding down her arms) and losing all of his "friends", with both, (first) sahara, and (then) shoko transferring schools due to the bullying they received Ishida was actually generally a good kid (due to his mom trying to raise him well and with how much she struggled to make ends meet for them, with how poor she was, and having 2 kids to raise as a single mom, though we only see ishida's older sister when she's much older, married, and as a mom of maria, and taking care of herself, herself, but still years before, when younger, ishida's mom was raising both of them), though he might have always had issues with socializing, or maybe that just happened later on from the "events" that will occur, however, he wanted friendship/companionship, so he would try to be cool and do things to get noticed by others, to show off to them, and etc, becoming the bully-ish leader (in the intro, we see him, as the alpha-leader, bully-ing/wedgy'ing his chubby omega friend, in the pecking order, as "friends", not maliciously, as the chubby omega friend was somewhat taking it playfully too, despite getting wedgy-bullied, just the pecking order of their group dynamics) of a group of "friends"... Ueno always loved Ishida, but he never had any interest back in her, and she knew it, no matter how much she loved and wanted him, she would never have him, she knew this deep down... oh, he would do stuff to show off to her, just wanting to be cool, and get the friendship/companionship with her, but that was it, he never had any actual interest in her, while she was completely in love with him... she too would do things, to try to get Ishida's attention/interest, hoping it would be the romantic type of attention/interest, but sadly, Ishida never ever had any romantic interest in her, and again, she knew this deep down... but she still loved him with all of her heart... So, when this new girl (shoko, the initially partially deaf girl in both ears) entered the class, Ueno tried to use his young-boy (puberty) embarrassment, to hopefully push him away from liking this new girl, by teasing him about her, in kinda a reverse-psychology: ~ "hey, look a new girl, you like her, ishida?", but Ueno is extremely perceptive and mature for her age, she instantly knew that ishida would like this new girl, that this girl had stolen ishida's heart at first sight, and she would fall in love back with ishida at first sight, while she so desperately loved ishida and tried so hard to get him to like her, but he just had no interest in ueno at all, and so, this new girl, was instantly a rival/threat to ueno, even though she and ishida would never be a thing, ueno wasn't going to back down, nor let this new girl have Ishida, whom she loved with all of her heart, without a fight... so, there was going to be bad blood between them automatically, as the two girls were both interested in Ishida, fighting over him... ueno is even more upset, as she knows shoko better than anyone else, she knows shoko isn't a "dumb deaf girl", euno knows that shoko would know that she-euno is in love with ishida, yet, shoko kept trying to steal ishida away from her... shoko was knowingly encrouching upon "her" guy/boy (even though that guy/boy had no interest in euno, lol)... also, shoko knew that she was ruining their group's friendship too, by continuing to want to be "friends" with Ishida (as a girl, and a perceptive and mature girl at that, it was clear as day to ueno, that despite ishida's bullying of shoko, she kept wanting to be "friends" with ishida, no girl would endure such abuse, unless she was in love with that boy), yet she kept trying to be "friends" with ishida and the rest of them, ruining their group of "friends"... so ueno was angry at shoko for not leaving their group of "friends" alone, especially ishida, as euno was in love with him... and she knew shoko was not a "dumb deaf girl", euno knew that shoko knew what she was doing, knew the trouble that she was causing to their group of "friends" and to her and ishida's "relationship" (which also would effect their group of "friends" as well too) but unfortunately, Ishida was interested in this new girl at first sight, but he couldn't communicate with her as she was initially partially deaf in both ears and he could not sign either, she was just too strange for him, he didn't know how to understand her, but he did like her very much, and was interested in her, romantically, but liking a girl at his age (puberty) was embarrassing, so he hid his romantic interest in shoko by being mean to her, as his "friends" say that his face would turn red around shoko, as he did like shoko, trying to hide is red face of liking shoko with cruelty and abuse... and despite all of his cruelty and abuse, shoko also kept wanting to be "friends" with ishida, as she also liked him, as no girl would endure such abuse and keep trying to be with a boy/guy, if they weren't interested in the boy/guy, if they weren't romantically interested or in-love with the boy/guy... middle school / junior high school years: these are the flashbacks of ishida now being seen/shown getting bullied and losing all of his "friends", due to him finally getting punished back when he was in elementary/grade school, he went through his entire middle / junior high school, as a loner, and being bullied, as he was the "$hit filth" that had brutally bullied an innocent sweet deaf girl back in elementary/grade school, as his "friends" all betrayed him and turned on him, not wanting to be seen "associating" with him even more, and telling everyone at middle/junior high about ishida too... ya, some "friends"... ishida thought he had... aside from his guilt for what he had done to shoko, this betrayal and back stabbing by his group of "friends" (to "Cover Their Own A$$e$", as they all participated in it or just watched the bullying of shoko too), caused him to no longer understand what "friends" were anymore... this betrayal by his "friends" really f'ked with him... he couldn't/wouldn't ever trust anyone ever again... and then add to that the rightly horrible guilt from every vile thing he had done to shoko... rightly believing he had no right to breath/live, to be happy, etc etc etc, we can see how he would want to kill himself, going into now high school... high school years: (easy to follow along content within the anime movie-film)
continued... ----------- Aside from Ishida's (rightly/justly/thankfully) massive guilt at all the vile stuff he had done to Shoko (we don't need to get into all this stuff between ishida and shoko, as it's so much easier to understand): ------ Ishida was also ruthlessly betrayed and stabbed in the back and thrown under the buss, by all of his "friends", to selfishly... COVER THEIR OWN A$$ES from getting into trouble and being seen as the '$hit-filths" that they are too... Ishida's entire concept of "friends/friendship" was snapped apart, he no longer knew what a "friend" was any more... he could no longer ever trust anyone ever again... hence all of the "Xs" on people's faces, any "friend" he would make, would just end of betraying him and stabbing him in the back again, just like all his "friends" had done, as they only cared about themselves, COVERING THEIR OWN A$$ES, throwing him under the buss ----- sadly or thankfully, the only person who never betrayed him... was the very one he bullied... shoko... she was the only one he could trust, hence why we NEVER saw an "X" on shoko's face, shoko was his one and only, friend, his one and only true friend, was shoko herself, he brutally hurt his one and only true friend, while all of his "friends" brutally betrayed him and stabbed him in the back and threw him under the buss, he could never ever trust anyone ever again, except for his one and only true friend, shoko (when ishida bullied shoko, back when they were in elementary/grade school together, Shoko had never snitched/tattled to the teachers nor to her own mother, upon ishida, not even about each of all of the hearing aids she had "lost", despite how vile he was to her, she truly had a heart of gold, shoko was the one and only person ishida could trust, and due to his vile acts upon her when kids, and then subsequently upon him in middle school / junior high school, they do share the same horrendous experiences, they both wished they were never alive, they both wanted to k1ll themselves, they shared a kinship with each other, that could never be duplicated, ishida could trust shoko absolutely, as sadly and thankfully, "misery loves company", and so they had each other and only each other, they both destroyed each other's lives, and only they both could restore each other's lives) ----- I didn't even really notice the light at the end... unfortunately... I think the "happy ending" that we saw... was what ishida wished for, for Shoko's sake (and his own fantasy/dream/hope for himself with shoko too, lol) but, I think he really did die (now that I've been made aware of the light at the end)... and can easily imagine shoko not being able to handle it... she always wanted to kill herself and nearly did so (and that wasn't shoko's first time either: shoko's younger sister never got to attend school, as she had to babysit shoko 24/7, as their mother couldn't do so, to keep shoko from k1ll1ng herself / trying to kill herself, which is why it showed shoko's sister asking ishida to teach her, now being able to attend school for her first time as shoko wasn't going to try to kill herself anymore as she tries to help ishida recover along with herself and his relationship with his "friends", in ishida's "wish-scene-of-happy-ending" at the end), with the guilt of ishida actually being dead, because of her, she will kill herself, no doubt, she will make sure she's dead, a very unhappy ending...
Such a great movie! Thank you for your reaction! Have you watched "I want to eat your pancreas" yet? They name is certainly interesting but it will make sense. It's a great movie! For me it builds a great anime movie trilogy with "A silent voice" and "Your name"
I didn't like the MC at all, and i know people might try to justify and tell me why he isn't a bad guy, people change, etc. But to me bullying is never gonna be ok and nothing will ever justify it even if it happens during childhood. We were all kids at some point and most of us were not bullies. Although parents and teachers are also to blame on allowing things like that to happen, the past cannot be changed and the suffering was done. The only reason i tolerate the mc is because the bullied girl forgave him and i respect her decision. But i don't like him at all. Just because you don't understand someone or something, doesn't mean you have to hate or be violent towards that thing or person, even if you are a kid. A kid that bullies someone is simply showing their true nature in my opinion. If they change during adulthood, great, good for them, but i still don't trust or like them. That's just my take on the movie, but i respect those who disagree and believe in 2nd chances.
I think it’s more nuanced than that personally but I can understand how you feel. I think all people are capable of redemption, not everyone WILL redeem themselves, but everyone CAN, we are shaped by our circumstances, there’s no evil inherent to anyone that causes them to become a bully it’s the conditions around them, I think the Japanese school system and the teacher are far more at fault and irredeemable than Shoya could ever be. Deaf students in hearing classrooms should have interpreters, other students should not be taking their notes, that puts an extra burden on other students that they then take out on her, it’s not acceptable that that take it out on her but they’re kids and it’s the responsibility of the school system to catch and correct that behavior and they completely failed Shoko and Shoya Also it’s the responsibility of parents and teachers, and adults in general to teach kids empathy
If you watch this movie carefully, you can understand Ueno's actions, although you don't approve of them. The biggest scum in this movie is Kawai.

In pretty sure it’s because moon and like sounds similar in Japanese.

i would never forgive this movie's director/author cuz the day i watched this the first time, I was sliced to piecess this movie is sooo sadd
Ueno was a shit with shoko but she never deny about that, but kawai ...agh, i hated that kind of person
+1
If you go to 1:26:34 I talk about how I didn’t like her hehe ❤
I recommend "Your Lie in April" if you enjoyed this movie :)
Masterpiece
Seeing you cry after the first 5 minutes? Oh lord the rest will be tough
"Look Back" reaction video please
Please watch YOUR NAME you will love it !!!
I recommend Fruits Basket too !!!
Your Name next!
Whenever a reactor crying.. I"ll be there
Please ignore all the Your Lie In April suggestions.
映画「君の名は」を見てほしい
必ず感動すると思います

my summary and analysis
------------------------
Ishida's mom is still very young, and is the blonde haired one (yes, that's Ishida's mom, lol), and trying to be a single-parent-mom too, barely making enough money to support the family, as a hair-stylist, using her home as her business (or vice versa, living in her/the hair style shop, meh)
Ishida does have an older sister too (we never really get to see her, aside from the scene of just seeing her bare s'xy wet legs, likely just coming out of the shower/bath, hehe, hope she wasn't naked in front of her younger brother Ishida, lol, and also during the fireworks, we see a side view of her, but never her face), who married that darker skinned guy that we briefly see from time to time, and who has cute sweet adorable child, Maria, with the darker skin from her father. The darker skinned father, might be a foreigner (or not) and soldier/military (navy maybe?), so he's often gone, on deployments, why he pops in and out during the anime. Ishida's older sister does seem to be doing pretty well, though Maria is constantly being taken care of by Ishida's mom, as Ishida's older sister seems to not be around too much either (maybe she's in college still, meh, who knows), but maybe they too don't have much money
Elementary/Grade school years:
when we first see ishida as a little kid when he was popular and had his group of "friends", and when Shoko (the initially partially deaf girl in both ears) first showed up as a new student, and into shoko's abuse, and ishida finally getting called out on it in school (due to him ripping out her new first time using hearing aid implants, with her bleeding down her arms) and losing all of his "friends", with both, (first) sahara, and (then) shoko transferring schools due to the bullying they received
Ishida was actually generally a good kid (due to his mom trying to raise him well and with how much she struggled to make ends meet for them, with how poor she was, and having 2 kids to raise as a single mom, though we only see ishida's older sister when she's much older, married, and as a mom of maria, and taking care of herself, herself, but still years before, when younger, ishida's mom was raising both of them), though he might have always had issues with socializing, or maybe that just happened later on from the "events" that will occur, however, he wanted friendship/companionship, so he would try to be cool and do things to get noticed by others, to show off to them, and etc, becoming the bully-ish leader (in the intro, we see him, as the alpha-leader, bully-ing/wedgy'ing his chubby omega friend, in the pecking order, as "friends", not maliciously, as the chubby omega friend was somewhat taking it playfully too, despite getting wedgy-bullied, just the pecking order of their group dynamics) of a group of "friends"...
So, when this new girl (shoko, the initially partially deaf girl in both ears) entered the class, Ueno tried to use his young-boy (puberty) embarrassment, to hopefully push him away from liking this new girl, by teasing him about her, in kinda a reverse-psychology: ~ "hey, look a new girl, you like her, ishida?", but Ueno is extremely perceptive and mature for her age, she instantly knew that ishida would like this new girl, that this girl had stolen ishida's heart at first sight, and she would fall in love back with ishida at first sight, while she so desperately loved ishida and tried so hard to get him to like her, but he just had no interest in ueno at all, and so, this new girl, was instantly a rival/threat to ueno, even though she and ishida would never be a thing, ueno wasn't going to back down, nor let this new girl have Ishida, whom she loved with all of her heart, without a fight... so, there was going to be bad blood between them automatically, as the two girls were both interested in Ishida, fighting over him...
ueno is even more upset, as she knows shoko better than anyone else, she knows shoko isn't a "dumb deaf girl", euno knows that shoko would know that she-euno is in love with ishida, yet, shoko kept trying to steal ishida away from her... shoko was knowingly encrouching upon "her" guy/boy (even though that guy/boy had no interest in euno, lol)... also, shoko knew that she was ruining their group's friendship too, by continuing to want to be "friends" with Ishida (as a girl, and a perceptive and mature girl at that, it was clear as day to ueno, that despite ishida's bullying of shoko, she kept wanting to be "friends" with ishida, no girl would endure such abuse, unless she was in love with that boy), yet she kept trying to be "friends" with ishida and the rest of them, ruining their group of "friends"... so ueno was angry at shoko for not leaving their group of "friends" alone, especially ishida, as euno was in love with him... and she knew shoko was not a "dumb deaf girl", euno knew that shoko knew what she was doing, knew the trouble that she was causing to their group of "friends" and to her and ishida's "relationship" (which also would effect their group of "friends" as well too)
but unfortunately, Ishida was interested in this new girl at first sight, but he couldn't communicate with her as she was initially partially deaf in both ears and he could not sign either, she was just too strange for him, he didn't know how to understand her, but he did like her very much, and was interested in her, romantically, but liking a girl at his age (puberty) was embarrassing, so he hid his romantic interest in shoko by being mean to her, as his "friends" say that his face would turn red around shoko, as he did like shoko, trying to hide is red face of liking shoko with cruelty and abuse... and despite all of his cruelty and abuse, shoko also kept wanting to be "friends" with ishida, as she also liked him, as no girl would endure such abuse and keep trying to be with a boy/guy, if they weren't interested in the boy/guy, if they weren't romantically interested or in-love with the boy/guy...
middle school / junior high school years:
these are the flashbacks of ishida now being seen/shown getting bullied and losing all of his "friends", due to him finally getting punished back when he was in elementary/grade school, he went through his entire middle / junior high school, as a loner, and being bullied, as he was the "$hit filth" that had brutally bullied an innocent sweet deaf girl back in elementary/grade school, as his "friends" all betrayed him and turned on him, not wanting to be seen "associating" with him even more, and telling everyone at middle/junior high about ishida too... ya, some "friends"... ishida thought he had... aside from his guilt for what he had done to shoko, this betrayal and back stabbing by his group of "friends" (to "Cover Their Own A$$e$", as they all participated in it or just watched the bullying of shoko too), caused him to no longer understand what "friends" were anymore... this betrayal by his "friends" really f'ked with him... he couldn't/wouldn't ever trust anyone ever again... and then add to that the rightly horrible guilt from every vile thing he had done to shoko... rightly believing he had no right to breath/live, to be happy, etc etc etc, we can see how he would want to kill himself, going into now high school...
high school years:
(easy to follow along content within the anime movie-film)
continued...
-----------
Aside from Ishida's (rightly/justly/thankfully) massive guilt at all the vile stuff he had done to Shoko (we don't need to get into all this stuff between ishida and shoko, as it's so much easier to understand):
------
Ishida was also ruthlessly betrayed and stabbed in the back and thrown under the buss, by all of his "friends", to selfishly...
COVER THEIR OWN A$$ES
from getting into trouble and being seen as the '$hit-filths" that they are too...
Ishida's entire concept of "friends/friendship" was snapped apart, he no longer knew what a "friend" was any more... he could no longer ever trust anyone ever again... hence all of the "Xs" on people's faces, any "friend" he would make, would just end of betraying him and stabbing him in the back again, just like all his "friends" had done, as they only cared about themselves, COVERING THEIR OWN A$$ES, throwing him under the buss
-----
sadly or thankfully, the only person who never betrayed him... was the very one he bullied... shoko... she was the only one he could trust, hence why we NEVER saw an "X" on shoko's face, shoko was his one and only, friend, his one and only true friend, was shoko herself, he brutally hurt his one and only true friend, while all of his "friends" brutally betrayed him and stabbed him in the back and threw him under the buss, he could never ever trust anyone ever again, except for his one and only true friend, shoko
(when ishida bullied shoko, back when they were in elementary/grade school together, Shoko had never snitched/tattled to the teachers nor to her own mother, upon ishida, not even about each of all of the hearing aids she had "lost", despite how vile he was to her, she truly had a heart of gold, shoko was the one and only person ishida could trust, and due to his vile acts upon her when kids, and then subsequently upon him in middle school / junior high school, they do share the same horrendous experiences, they both wished they were never alive, they both wanted to k1ll themselves, they shared a kinship with each other, that could never be duplicated, ishida could trust shoko absolutely, as sadly and thankfully, "misery loves company", and so they had each other and only each other, they both destroyed each other's lives, and only they both could restore each other's lives)
-----
I didn't even really notice the light at the end...
unfortunately... I think the "happy ending" that we saw... was what ishida wished for, for Shoko's sake (and his own fantasy/dream/hope for himself with shoko too, lol)
but, I think he really did die (now that I've been made aware of the light at the end)... and can easily imagine shoko not being able to handle it... she always wanted to kill herself and nearly did so (and that wasn't shoko's first time either: shoko's younger sister never got to attend school, as she had to babysit shoko 24/7, as their mother couldn't do so, to keep shoko from k1ll1ng herself / trying to kill herself, which is why it showed shoko's sister asking ishida to teach her, now being able to attend school for her first time as shoko wasn't going to try to kill herself anymore as she tries to help ishida recover along with herself and his relationship with his "friends", in ishida's "wish-scene-of-happy-ending" at the end), with the guilt of ishida actually being dead, because of her, she will kill herself, no doubt, she will make sure she's dead, a very unhappy ending...
Drink some water , you lost so much 😂😂😂
Watch Your Name. And I Want To Eat Your Pancreas.
You need to watch clannad if you liked a silent voice or at least check the opening
Clannad is for sadists. Til this day i don't get the point of both seasons other than making the viewer sad.
@tiagoh.4120 that's why I actually want her to see it
@@DTMaboy Fair enough. I respect you for being honest. Most people would deny and say it's just because it's a good show. Kudus to you.
don't watch "i want eat your pancreas"
You should watch I want to eat your pancreas to cheer up
Girl you've been watching so much sad anime lately, are you ok? 😭
You gonna go broke with all the tissues and make up ruined lol 😆
Assista Túmulo de vagalumes
Such a great movie! Thank you for your reaction!
Have you watched "I want to eat your pancreas" yet? They name is certainly interesting but it will make sense. It's a great movie! For me it builds a great anime movie trilogy with "A silent voice" and "Your name"
I hope she watches it omg it's so good
Please watch your name 😊
😭👍
This movie is so good
Kawai is the worst in the manga. I am sorry that my boy Satoshi got most of his character cut from the movie.
its time for I want to eat your pancreas
I actually have it on Patreon! I watched it back in Nov.
Deaf students in hearing classrooms should have interpreters, other students should not be taking their notes, that puts an extra burden on other students that they then take out on her, it’s not acceptable that that take it out on her but they’re kids and it’s the responsibility of the school system to catch and correct that behavior and they completely failed Shoko and Shoya
Also it’s the responsibility of parents and teachers, and adults in general to teach kids empathy
