It's due to precise positioning. As you can see before at 0:35 on the top of the first hill, I stop pushing forward for some frames (when image tilts a little) to get over it as fast as possible without leaving the ground as this would cost time. I assume I enter the wall due to position and speed, but I am actually not entirely sure. There has to be a check whether AiAi hits a wall or not. On one frame, I am very near to the wall (still in front of it), but did not trigger this test yet. Because of maximum speed, I am placed slightly inside the wall on the next frame. However, the area that would trigger the bump into the wall is not hit by me. So basically I am just a tiny bit in front the trigger area on the first frame and a little bit behind this area on the second frame. As the wall is not a completely solid object, I don't get stuck, but could go right through it. At 1:40 the same thing happens again.
Hi! I'm a super monkey ball jr speedrunner and i was wondering if you still have the input files for the TAS videos you made 4 years ago? It's a bit of a tall order, but it would really help my research of strats for the game. Your TAS has already inspired me to test out a bunch of things, and has been super helpful, so even if you can't help with my admittedly difficult to accept request, I want to let you know that those TAS videos are very cool and you're cool for putting the time in to create them. Thanks! I sent you this on twitter as well if you're getting de ja vu reading this, i'm not sure if you check your twitter too often so i figured i'd send it here too :)
0:38 HOW do you pass through that wall
