The evolution of the P1000 community is nothing short of extraordinary. At the outset, women would approach the workshop nervously and alone. But as their hard work and dedication paid off, they gained confidence and began bringing their children along. Husbands now drop off and pick up their wives with pride, seeing the value in their work. This workshop has become much more than a place of employment; it is now a second home to these women. The transformation is truly heartwarming.
The P1000 community serves as a haven for women from various communities to come together, interact, and work as a team. Their camaraderie has enabled them to form strong bonds, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. With each passing day, their confidence has grown, empowering them to voice their thoughts and opinions. The environment of free thinking has further boosted their creativity, resulting in remarkable growth and evolution.

In Essence:
Project 1000 is a social enterprise empowering rural women in the villages of Maharashtra (India). Our weavers handcraft home decor and lifestyle articles like Floor Rugs, Cushions covers, Baskets, Totes, Slings, Place Mats, Bathroom Mats, Laptop jackets, Bread Baskets, planters, etc. All products are handwoven by up-cycling cotton and other natural fabric yarns, making them luxurious and easy to maintain. Quality and utility are important; all product development is done meticulously under the Gainful Employment Program conducted in Shanti Seva Nidhi Trust under brand PROJECT 1000. The goal is community upliftment through job creation for women focusing on creating a sustainable product and economy.
