- In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2023 #Subaru #Ascent and take it out on my test drive. The new Ascent gets the large touchscreen (still a little glitchy), updated lighting outside and a new fascia. Is the largest Subi too good to be true?

I honestly don't know why more cars (and trims) don't have the thigh extension for long legged drivers. It makes all the difference in getting comfortable.

I test drove the '22 and I loved it, so seeing this refresh is awesome. I have seen a lot of negative opinions on this car but like you said..* a lot of standard * especially for a 3 row vehicle that looks really good to me. It's not meant to be luxury, but a utility vehicle that offers a whole lot w/ good safety features. Thanks for the review!!

The Highlander has adaptive lighting on the platinum model, does the hybrid with this , the front blinker signals are extremely small
I agree the Highlander has some good features but overall value and pricing is better with the Subaru

Is it possible to programmatically increase its power? chip tuning.
Because of the cvt, not really, you would spend the money and not get extra performance. The CVT makes it a lot harder and if you reprogrammed everything, including the cvt it would pop the internal pulleys.
I would love to see Subaru build an All Purpose Vehicle (APV) all wheel drive, back country, sliding door van. Honda and Toyota would be the only ones to compete with them and I think think a vehicle like that would absorb a lot of the van/SUV market which is most new vehicles on the road.

Nice video. I drive the 2021 ascent limited. However i saw the video if the new Toyota highlander hybrid max. I think i will teade my subsru for the hybrid max because it beats subaru in mpg, horsepower, space in 3rd row and trunk space behind the 3rd row seat. That is ehat we call a family cross over. It also has usb each side of the 3rd row unlike the subaru. I also think awd system is as good as subaru awd. Also safety system is as good as subaru. The good thing it doesn't have a cvt which is good so i will wait to see what subaru will do in response.

The hybrid max does have a CVT. Hybrids can only use CVT transmissions because they can accept multiple inputs, in this case from the engine and from the electric motor. Traditional automatics are only capable of receiving input from one source, making them incapable of supporting a hybrid power train.
The grand highlander also costs at least $5,000 more.
Subaru AWD is superior. Symmetrical full time AWD vs asymmetrical AWD that I believe is not full time.
I recently purchased a 2023 Subaru Ascent, limited. The only complaint I have are the seats. Mine are a bit different than in this video and have already scratched.
The leather seat are not as strong as the Star Tex, I would take it back to the dealership they should repair for you 👍

I would note the turbo kicks up at a very low 2000 rpm if you want it! There is no turbo "spooling", it's just ready to go!

but it has lesser mpg when on highways?..... totally opposite to naturaly aspirated engine.
Of course not! If I run 65 mph I can achieve around 25 mpg.

@@bogart5131You seem to have a bone to pick on the turbo. I have a 2023 Ascent and counter your claim. I get much better mileage on the highway. Have no issues with it or the CVT.
Price will be it's advantage over pilot and highlander

when your in highway, the lesser mpg would have cause of the turbo..... doesnt make sense. why not just put 3liter engine, nothing else..... naturaly aspirated engine tends to have more mpg on highways.

20 inch wheels suck i got flats when going up jeep trails , you want my 20 inchers im going 18 inch for a real sidewall that gives me a better rider and wont get flats!!!!!!!!

My 2022 was a lemon. Subaru didn’t care. They offered me $2500.00 to keep the car with faulty brakes. This is the reason we will never buy another Subaru.
