    Thank you for your tutorial, it was really helpful!
    I was wondering, with the nhair method, is it possible to attach the curves to a scalp so that if I animate the character the hair moves along with it?

    I don't understand why you export one file, and then you import two files, i miss one step, i don't know how to continue :(

    This is awesome. I really doesn't understand xgen. It's too complicated and crashes all the time. I Think, this is a great way to create hair for my characters

    Thanks for the tutorial !
    Any idea why the aiStandardHair is making Maya not responding ? Or has this ever happened to you ?
    It generally works until I try to pick a basecolor..

    • @3dsculptingtutorials
      @3dsculptingtutorials  4 роки тому

      How does it not respond? It doesnt render correctly? Usually I did not have problems with it. What are you applying it to?

    • @Raamad
      @Raamad 4 роки тому

      Well, it seems like it's happening to me only in Maya 2020.
      Everything goes well until I assign the aiStandardHair to the hair. Maya freezes, for about 5 minutes. After that, if I try to do anything with the aiStandardHair, it freezes again.
      It did work on Maya 2019 tho, so everything's not lost !

    • @3dsculptingtutorials
      @3dsculptingtutorials  4 роки тому

      @@Raamad Do you assign it to a xgen description or plug it in nhair?

    • @Raamad
      @Raamad 4 роки тому

      I plugged it in nhair hairSystem, just like in your video

    • @3dsculptingtutorials
      @3dsculptingtutorials  4 роки тому +1

      @@Raamad That's strange.. Maybe you could try and hide the painteffects in your outliner. Because then it should not have any effect on maya until you render. Maybe you can wait with the assignment of your hairshader until you render. Not the best solution , I know. Maybe post in the Maya subreddit or another Maya forum with a screenshot or video. Good luck!

    Hmm this isn't working for me. The hair imports really small and bald looking and looks like carboard cuttings when rendered

    Question here can you import zgen hair into zbrush ?

    • @3dsculptingtutorials
      @3dsculptingtutorials  4 роки тому

      if you convert it to polygons, you can import the hair that way, but you cant import curves if thats what you mean

      That's exactly it.. For purely artistic purposes it's definitely great with all the control you have
