2021 here!! i'm really enjoying your videos and I'm learning a lot! Very not skilled in mechanics and I can't thank you enough for all the valuable input you are providing and I like the way your videos are not just "mechanic theory" and just regular chatting to the audience while at the same time, throwing some very well explanations. Keep going Louis!
Best teardown vid I've seen. Would like to rebuild mine too but seeing all the work it makes me wonder if I want to put that kind of time into a $700 sled.
I always like to shove a rag in the crankcase around the connecting rod when I'm installing the wrist pin circlips. That way if they pop out they don't fall down inside the crankcase.
on our fanner cats I pull the whole pump out and make a block off plate with a gasket, less parasitic drag. and less of a chance for a moving , non-used-pump to fail
You should make a video about that massive clearcut to power California I'm sure there's a story there. I haven't head much of anything about it, but we live in Oregon and I know we send California power as well.
I have the same sled =- 340 indy Lite and was wondering how to rebuild the secondary clutch. there is only a "C" clip holding it, but nothing is coming apart. Also wondering if you ever got the bog fixed on that same machine. Last video I saw was 'sea foam' which didn't work it seems? Love watching your videos, but really cannot find anything on the vintage sled secondary and how to get them apart. Primary is simple on these old sleds, but the secondary seem to be a sealed unit so any help would be great.
I have a Polaris 98 XCR 600 Tripple and i have problems with bogging , there was water in the gas and drained the tank plus i cleaned the carbs jets and all , would bad spark plugs still make it bogg , for example i start it fine and and i give it trottle it boggs and dies out then problems starting it again , , maybe a clutch problems ?
how did you torque the cylinder base nuts to the top half of the crankcase. They are hidden and you can't get torque wrench on it. You didn't show that in the video
PowerModz my dad's snowmobile will roar bit won't move if he goes full gas then his snowmobile won't move but sounds like it is crossing you know why it dose this?
My friend just broke a track on his 92 Indy lite 340. If anyone knows where I can find a replacement track, or can tell me the pitch of the drivers, please let me know!
The part is discontinued sorry about the many texts the part is just discontinued but I thought maybe one of your ski Doo dealers up there may have it I appreciate
Yes, a digital multimeter ( set to ohms ) will be required and the specs for your particular machine to test the circuits of the stator there are several that will need to be checked and it can also be used in AC voltage mode to check output of the stator if the machine will run.
you seem to be on a little bit of a rant fest, I think the last 3 vids you have been randomly ranting about what people say in the comments... is there something your trying to say to the powermodz army? I wouldn't let comments get to you everyone is entitled to their own opinion, wrong or right, you can't change someone else's mind so don't dwell on it, it's a waste of time don't ya think?
CrazyCaiman lol I was actually talking about something else before that that got me fired up...the poor fellas busted in new Hampshire for water-skiing behind the sled....I got a litter over the top so I didn't post that footage. what you saw was the aftermath. I don't much care about what people say in my Vids but I am getting tired of our rights being taken away.
Sorry to hear that, I'm from Island Park, Idaho and the forest service closes things down on us all the time with gates, ditches, boulders, in fact there's a dirt road next to my cabin where they stopped "maintaining it" so now there's erosion ditches in it that are 2-3 ft deep to keep people out because they legally can't close it but its not gonna stop me; you wont quote me saying this but "some people" would say you can do anything just don't get caught ;) P.S. Im turning my ttr125L into a 150cc and putting 26mm carb, lightened flywheel, and Barret "dirt digger" clutch kit in it this summer. lets hope for 10-13Hp out of a 7hp 50mph bike
I'm restoring a 1976 Polaris TX 440. Your Polaris 340 engine videos have been extremely helpful.

I'm impressed Louie! Nice work
great job louie keep them vids rolling i like watching your channel
The beam torque wrench is actually pretty accurate. Simple and effective.
OIl pump dose lube the bearings. i was going to do the same thing after my oil pump kicked the bucket forcing me to rebuild my 488 fan indy.
Was it just me but when Louis was oiling the inside of the cylinders with 2 fingers it got me a little moist. XD XD =P
Hello,Good work, quality restoration. It's look like simple! Thank's for the vidéo.
Louie, I have a Indy hood from a classic. It is brown, has a small crack in the knee guards but is otherwise good.
love the long video keep up the great job have a great day.
no ring end gap measurement ? I personally wouldn't have skipped that part for the sake of the young viewer crowd building their first motor.
on our fanner cats I pull the whole pump out and make a block off plate with a gasket, less parasitic drag. and less of a chance for a moving , non-used-pump to fail
Watchin in late 2021 love the vids cant wait for this coming sleddin season
Is that a new tunnel in the back round ?
You should make a video about that massive clearcut to power California I'm sure there's a story there. I haven't head much of anything about it, but we live in Oregon and I know we send California power as well.

im amazed how much more simple a sled motor is to a 2 stroke dirtbike motor
Yea so what you make an extra couple bucks from your syrup smuggling operation, I got my eye on you canada
put the y pipe on snugly before head torquing -keeps cylinders aligned
The part is discontinued
Let it Snow let it Snow!

Woppz
Torq the happy little bolts:)
For sure, you can relax to this.
Do you not need to check piston ring end gap?
GeoFrank I was thinking that two maybe he got the cylinders gone over by somebody and they checked it for him
Uses kids pyjamas as a towel😂😂
your doing a great job awesome video
I want to find a 1982 Kawasaki Interceptor 550 that thing was THE Kawasaki race sled
Do you have a way i can contact you i have qustion and need to send pics of crank case and see what you think i should do to fix it
Will the rings seat properly if the cylinders aren't at least honed?
I spotted that as well. Yes, honing is crucial for ring seating.
Hey bud I'm looking for a set of intake boots for a 2002 ski Doo 500 fan
Lol i like this guy hes funny keep it up
what did you torque the head to?
Price of the rebuild?
The polaris 340 needs a jaws can
Why didnt you set the ring gap?
I always do - its in other videos.
@@PowerModzOfficial do you know where i can get some rings for a 1970 Olympic 399?
hey when are you turboing this Indy lite beast
Owen Stahlbaum n
how did you torque the cylinder base nuts, if you can't get the "torque wrench" in there?
Andrew Horwood supposed to use a crow foot ratchet attachment
Okay awesome Thanks!

Steven Vanheel may be i can sell you my track
jamie ballantyne what size is your track? I am looking for a 116" long by 15" wide. I am unsure of the pitch though.
The part is discontinued sorry about the many texts the part is just discontinued but I thought maybe one of your ski Doo dealers up there may have it I appreciate
does anybody know how I can test a stator to see if it's good
Yes, a digital multimeter ( set to ohms ) will be required and the specs for your particular machine to test the circuits of the stator there are several that will need to be checked and it can also be used in AC voltage mode to check output of the stator if the machine will run.
Next time put a rag in the case holes. Nothing worst then dropping something down in the bottom eh!
Exactly
good vid louie
awsome vid
Haha, sound like trailerpark boys
side businesses? you told me you just go in to debt like everyone else.
You forgot to use Loctite on your bolts and nuts
