Your theory is correct. The reason why you can hear Anasko is indeed because you touched an artifact. Bring Barrett (he touched one as well) along for the sequence and he too can hear Anasko.

The whole idea of people lost between universes immediately stood out to me as having something to do with the unity, even the underlying grav jump details. Perhaps house varuun tried creating an artificial way to travel to the unity with these technologies, without really understanding it. Causing them to fail and create the mess they did

Barrett can hear anasko as well i heard. Its to do with having touched artifacts.

Ok, here is my argument for why Jinan Varuun being a starborn makes sense.
    1. He has a complete personality shift after the experience, with him admitting to being distant and quiet beforehand. Now he is a charismatic, empathetic person who the herald says knew the exact coordinates to find shelter on Varuunkai. (as if he is now a high level character that now has invested into the social tree.)
    2. He clearly witnessed the unity, and the snake iconography is likely due to the way the circle of Eternity appears from the bottom and slowly rises into a circle, which would look like a snake eating its tail.
    3. His disinterest with the artifacts is actually a good reason to suspect him, because as Starborn, we know that eventually it just isn't fun to keep collecting the artifacts, and it is a very lonely experience to do so as seen with The Hunter. If he were Starborn, the Jinan we find in our universe wants to create house Varuun more than collect artifacts, and my next point works with this.
    4. He defeated the Unbeliever repeatedly suggesting incredible strength since we know the Pilgrim has already grown tired of being the Hunter by that point. Additionally, the way Jinan talks to the nurse and the people in the hospital bed implies that he knows things he should not know. He knows the nurse's name, and is self-aware of how they perceived him beforehand.
    5. His maniacal laughing could suggest that he feels as though he was victorious in what he wished to achieve.
Edit: 6. The people who record his maniacal laughing note that he was in the Astrogation club, and astrogation is navigating outer space according to google. This could be a context clue for why it would have been possible for him to become Starborn in his universe. (he was a space nerd in a time before Constellation's founding)
To argue against myself though, Victor Aizi only touched an artifact when he saw presumably the unity. This raises the question, does the Unity treat each individual differently? We know that some feel as though the Unity is judging them, Cora played tag with The Unity. Is the Unity orchestrating events for a specific purpose?

All good points, especially the idea that he would get bored of searching for the artefacts and that might be why House Va'ruun has no interest in them. Victor Aiza's whole experience is definitely a sticking point though. I'm definitely inclined to think there was some sort of divine intervention from somewhere which allowed both him and Jinan to see the unity without building the armillary...

I love when "Not playing the game anymore is canon"
Reminds me of Spec Ops: The Line.
I've assumed the snake was some sort of reference to the causal chain, like if you were able to view something in a temporal dimension. The costume thing would certainly have been in character for bethesda.

Should have been able to convince the council that Jinaan was a madman and to change their ways, the opposing members could leave and join up with the unresolved Zealots and we could have felt a sense of changing the world.

The whole "he was wearing a serpent outfit when he entered the Unity" concept is frigging AWESOME!! That is the exact type of zany goofiness that this game needs. He's not Starbourn because the Unity saw him....knew that he was shithouse crazy....and sent his ass back!😂😅🎉

Unrelated to the video, but something that I keep coming back to in my mind; I feel like the temples are a networking device, and what you're actually doing when flying through the lights is connecting different universes to the web of the multiverse.
The reason I think this is the mission Entangled, where you use the identical floating lights to travel between universes. The device that is used to see the lights does so through vibrations, and to solve the experiment requires you to balance the frequencies in both universes. I believe this is why the artifacts and temples resonate with a sort of music.
I would hazard to guess that the temples and artifacts were created to ensure that once a species was intelligent enough to connect (or reconnect) the multiverse, they'd be ready for.....something....
You talking about why we can hear Anasko is what sparked this. It's like we can just hear and interpret the sound across dimensions.

I th6the next DLC being about Starborn will finally piece together the contact between Keeper and Jinan. That battle is what is the Varuun obsession with the serpents crusade. Bethesda gets a lot of smoke for all the plot holes. However I need the open holes to role play. I feel Bethesda games made like Startield gives so much more than other RPG games that paint the whole world for the player. I think it's a 7 out if 10 like the base game plus it gets a bonus point for the ability to use my imagination with numerous characters in so many ways.

Interesting perspective on choosing how to RP your character through the DLC story. I started a completely new game about a month or so before the DLC came out, and finished most of the Main Story, and faction and side quests (again) but did not go through the Unity yet. In playing the DLC, I gravitated towards my character slowly becoming a believer and mostly following the path of a true Va'Ruun. It helped that I had chosen Andreja as my mate and companion so that gave motivation to want to share her beliefs. And it makes sense that they might do that because they're still seeking answers since they haven't yet experienced the Unity. I'm thinking that next NG+ I'm going to go the other way and play it as a total non-believer because now they know the truth of the Unity not to mention Anasko's true nature as revealed at the end.

Way I took it. Jinan had a mental breakdown so intense from the grav jump that it fractured his psyche and made him believe in 'The Great Serpent.' He was driven so hard by this mental delusion that he founded House Varuun and it's beliefs. His belief were taken so seriously, that it finally pushed someone to actually attempt to communicate with The Great Serpent. This attempt literally caused the vortex to bleed into the universe.
I like the idea that all of this came from a mental breakdown which formed the basis of a religion, and created zealots who punched a hole in dimentional space to talk to a space snake which wasn't real in the first place.

  • @Morg2851

I liked the main story in this dlc, but it left me with many questions. I'm not sure yet if I like the idea of the Great Serpent being connected with the Unity. I loved those audio logs tho. I wonder what happened to the phantoms of Dazra, was hoping for a secret ending where I could bring them back (something like in Entangled). During the ending sequence I felt like I messed everything up, with the citadel going boom and that was it, very abrupt. The vortex is a cool idea that fits the vanilla game, but it doesn't have much going for it, teleportation shenanigans and monsters aside. It's weird, if the Unity represents everything, and it is a connection between all realitites, how come there is something outside of it? Maybe the vortex was created by the Va'ruun experiments, its nature could be artificial.
Lmfao at Jinan in a snake suit.

No comments on what the snake is, but I think your right he had a brush with the unity. If you think about it, grav drives are based on a rudimentary understanding of a single artifact. In a sense, grav dives are a primitive copy of the artifacts themselves. So having an experience where he encountered the unity is not out of the question. As to his seeming madness, one of things we know the artifacts do is alter human physiology. It’s possible that these alterations allow you to experience the unity without loosing your mind. Jinan wouldn’t have had this benefit, so it may have been more than his unmodified mind could handle. To the game, I do wish they had been more clear as to what the great serpent actually is/was.

What annoyed me with this game is that none of the "endings" gave you an achievement!
I'd at least expected an "All Must Serve" achievement for choosing to die at the spire, or a different one for opposing the new serpents crusade.
    Such a wasted opportunity.

Instead of reaching the unity, isn't it more likely that Jinaan might have accidentally reached the vortex?
The vortex drives phantoms mad and twists people into abominations. Could a encounter with the vortex have driven Jinaan mad?

With me in this game, I Always go ronin or merc, empathetic but at times emotionally stagnant/ clueless. Intelelectually pragmatic and tries too gain as many prospectives as posible and talk it out as peacefully as posible in a measure of spite too my neon street rat back round, but if u violently cross me or someone close too me your done!
I'll always rat out Francois as a manipulative sociopath to all except Hadi maybe!!!
Ron Hope is a self agrandizing jerk who deserves nothing but a swift death!!!
I sympathize with Delgado and Jasper Kryx, but what they built and spout is mostly poison!!!
Ryujin is in at least decent hands under misako, but still may need too tred lightly.
Dul keff maybe indessicive, but he's manageable and can be reasoned with unlike the mid evil Cardinal stereo type, the geo political tight rope walking Kadic, or worse house maleen!
My goal and hope for the game currently is we get some syndiacate, ecilptic, and more independant setelment story dlc. Try and set up my own faction, sign on too the armictice (though I want too piolit a mech), and create a MASSIVE valut too contain and study the armulary as a neutural forth party with full defense packs with the UC, Collective, and a reformed Va runn , after that its up in the air....

Well, I don't hate the dlc, but I was more disappointed to see that they didn't do anything to improve the base game. Shattered Space had a lot to do no doubt, but it just wasn't the same as going on a planet, setting up an outpost and just trying to find more loot to build it up. This dlc barely had any radiant questing which isn't even Starfield at all, it's almost like they were trying to get players who never played the game in the first place, honestly after everything there was to do and then it was done, it made me quite sad.

  • @biggiebagel
    @biggiebagel Місяць тому +1

The DLC was just kind of meh. It had touches of greatness but ultimately leaves you feeling disappointed. It was way too short and like the base game, feels so small in scope. When I am in Dazra or New Atlantis, I expect to feel like I am in a bustling Metropolis that I could not ever hope to fully explore. Instead I feel like I'm on Mackinaw Island where once you have seen one fudge shop, you have seen them all and you can bike around the entire place in no more than an hour and a half.
