I had a boss back in the late 80's who gave his graduating hs daughter a fully restored '66 Mustang almost identical to this one but with black rolled and pleated seats. She hated it and refused to drive it. I learned this a few months afterwards from the mom when I spotted it in their garage. When she asked, "It just sits here. You want to take and drive it this weekend?", there was no way I could turn that down. I drove over it to the Auburn University campus on Saturday and heard many wows! And 'helluva car, dude!'. The fantasy was short but sweet.
Great job as usual and I’m always amazed at the talents of their crew, especially Ryan, who is phenomenal painter. I had a chance to meet him a few years ago and what a great guy.
THAT is a very high end "Driver". It will "show" and "GO!" ....without breaking down. I wanted every single drivers aids they added for comfort and performance. Well done on that!
“There’s not any tears or a thing” Lady you would think for $50k-70k there better not be. This has got to be the most expensive 6 cylinder 66 convertible mustang. You can get one in this condition for $30k-35k. At first this was 50k and I bet they added another 15k-20k . Dayum.
@Jack Russelle Lewis 100% agree. I mean, if it was the C1 Vette with the Blue Flame motor I'd understand because those are rarer than hen's teeth, but for a mustang it's a bit of an undershoot.
My BMW is 255hp my friends keep telling me to upgrade it, straight pipe it and etc.. I don’t wanna do it I wanna keep my car stock, for me stock cars are beauty unless it’s a project car
@@ScubaDiverMan711 well with exhaust it's not really that big of a deal, if I were you I'd try it, and if you don't like it then get some proper racing exhaust
the power of the P.... i would have definetly made sure it was a k code. even restored this run of the mill mustang is worth half of what he put into it. Either way, great work by the guys.
Ohh, that's awesome!!! My favorite automobile, Mustang!!! The last one i had was a 66 coupe, poppy red, 351c V8, two barrel, duel exhaust. Nice looking on the inside and out but, eventually the rear end was going out and i had to get rid of it! I couldn't afford to fix it or set it aside and get another car. I can do that NOW, of course. I was so sad to let it go but, had no choice. I miss it. It didn't have the original engine in it. According to the vin number, the original engine was a 200, straight six (just like the one in this video)!! I can only imagine how beautiful it would've looked restored to factory settings!! I have pics of it. Not sure how to share them with you all. Oh, one thing it DIDN'T have was power stearing! I hated that! Haha!
Customer:i have a 1966 Mustang convertible to restore Danny: Ok bring it in (finds out metal fabrication problem) Danny: (calls customer) Come get it out of my shop
@@52BuickBoi For that price I would have to! May be a great price, but I'd have to see the resale value to OK something like that. Still a cherry though!
I myself would love to see the full restoration videos. You should do one car and see how many watch it. You’d be surprised. I’d watch how ever many videos it took.
Love your choice of dog ! I grew up with a Bull Terrier in the 70's. He was a real character. My Pop was a Veterinarian, and he delivered the puppy. Back then, not many people ever saw or knew the breed. We received many strange looks and comments everytime we took "Jake" out for a walk. Great memories I'm sure yours has a cool personality too 😎 Cheers
@@paulyrepa2046 You probably know having so many..but always use a stainless steel food and water bowls with them. Some will get an allergic reaction that looks like acne around their chin.
It's a shame how people want to jackleg vehicles and whoever done that car like that has no heart or concious. Thanks to Danny and his crew that car can live a long long time. God bless you all
Fun fact is the Ford Mustang horse was designed and sculpted by Bill Swan at international fiberglass along with many other iconic fiberglass statues like Paul Bunyan. The only thing Bill got for it was a Thank you card from Edsel,a3D print out of the horse and Ford paid him 100 for it and this is the exact horse the emblem was COPIED from but the man who made the emblem worked at Ford therefore took full credit at least Bills family got the horse
The inline-6, well, with what they had, the phone call to me would have changed from the total restoration to a custom. I do not like the idea of changing old metal, but once cut, it has been cut. And, with the mangled old work and 6-banger, I would change it. Add the power, gobs of it.
Yeah, it's a waste of money and not worth anywhere near what they have in it right now. If you're going to spend that kind of money, at least have a fast car when you're done.
Man I couldn’t spend that kinda money and still have a 6 cyl… If it was for my wife or my mother I for sure would have wanted fuel injection. It could be just a very mild 302 in the style of these older cars and just add an aftermarket fuel injection set up. I would just take a 302 from a 89-93 fox body Mustang just have the bottom end rebuilt, mild cam, cheaper aluminum heads, intake, then you would have a serpentine belt no crappy v-belts, power steering pump and ac compressor and all ur brackets are there, there is a plug that comes off the engine wiring harness for ur gauges and to wire in ur ignition wiring super easy to swap in! Also these injected Fox body 302’s get pretty good fuel mileage my last one got 26-28 mpg on the highway that was with a bunch of bolt ons prolly around 300hp nothing crazy. I just wouldn’t want my mom or wife to drive a car with a carburetor plus if the car ever broke down most shops don’t have anyone that can work on a carbureted engine and if it needs something every part store has parts in stock for a injected Fox Mustang.
Having had a 65 and a 67 Mustang, I know these years were rust buckets. I looked at a 65 Falcon once and it looked great until I looked down inside of the doors with the windows cranked down and it was rust city! I believe Ford never painted the inside of the body in those years, especially the cowls. Personally, for that kind of budget, I would've expected more.
every 65-70 is probalby thrice restored by a vartiy of differntly skilled restorers. OH MY THAT LOOKS FACTORY FRESH. cant believe they put that money into a 6cyl.
“Ryan made sure to dig through the many layers of repainted to find the exact factory red color.” You’d think a professional restoration shop would know how to just look at the VIN number to find that out.
@@OkayNiceOne i know, but more often than not, they are wrong. Well i do not know about Ford, but in 60-70ties the correctness of those data was not really top priority. Mine vette was blue factory, had vin code for red, only because one before and one after was red. People were really caring about those first when internet came along.

This couple definitely did it in the car😂😂

That's the best I've seen. This team is unbelievable!
Too many years ago I had a ride in my friends Mom’s brand new 64.5 mustang. I remember I loved that car right away.
