@@tinman6182 THe key - I have found - is the tire size. rarely is a 22.5 tires NOT dock high. The floor height for most tractor trailer is 54" - so most any dock that receives tractor trailer will be right at that 54" level. This truck is equipped with the 22.5 tires. And it is a dock high truck.

I've been a driver for 34 years. Recently I've been looking at FTR's wondering if I could get one with this type of sleeper. For the last 20 years I wondered why they didn't offer it that way. I thought maybe it was a structural problem. Turns out that it was just a lack of imagination. Who knew!

RE the FTR - The do not have the 24" of depth required by DOT. The can be a rest bunk for sure. BTW I prove the Ford Isuzu and International.

The front overhead console presents a problem with curtains on rails. Pricing for rear and side after market in track curtains are in the works, but the tracking for the overhead console are a work in process. Once the kit is fully researched, I will have a number and option for that need. In the interim, I have what I have.

My company used to own international trucks I use to drive one of this My owner hate these trucks every second week we have to take to the dealership everytime with new problems
I appreciate the comments AND I agree at one period of time International had an issue with the Max Force engine. And I know that you appreciate that a company or person who does the same thing over and over and expect a different outcome - - well - insanity!!! SOOOO, you will be happy to know that the lunacy ended in 2015 with the advent of the Cummins engine - and the abandonment of the MaxxForce.
Your point is greatly appreciated as it WAS true. For a period of time. And the mathematics of the engine would work with 45 feet of tail pipe. We did not have the room for that length on any truck.
The short end result was the leader of the company were released - and new leader ship moved to an accepted engine in the market. CUMMINS. This is the same Cummins that is in Freightliner, Isuzu, Hino (2023), and more. It has been the standard engine in the NON CDL trucks for SIX years.
An apology continues to go out to customers and clients that own the MaxxForce.
In closing YUP - the engine sucked for a while. We manned up and changed. We grew and adapted. We are swiftly returning to THE premier truck on the road for class 6 - 7 - 8.

The camera is locate in the header of the roll up rear door. This location provides a excellent downward view of the rear door frame and rear blind spot. The base has a small foot print and the camera angle adjust slightly - though a ladder and tools are needed.
A point of reference at ua-cam.com/video/J67uCfppvbo/v-deo.html we see the rear door latch mechanism. The camera is located in the header above the door latch.

Great question - and in a different year I would still be hard pressed to answer your question. This configuration is very popular. I have not had one on the yard since February. As they are almost always direct delivery.
And, the order log is now the end of Q1 2022.
Anyone know if it’s safe to leave the truck running for a while? I’ve been OTRing for the past 4 days now and I have kept my truck pretty much running the whole time because I need the AC. It gets pretty hot in the cab.
As an OTR I would like to suggest consideration an electric power APU when your cash flow will permit. The add through the factory partner is $13500. I have to defer to the aftermarket vendors in your area for their price offering. They are available through both carrier and thermoking. I also suggest working to upgrade your alternator if you can. There is a diesel APU as well, but the motor might become a nuisance if you have sensitive sleep habits.
Now back to your question. there will be an increased amount of soot captured in your DPF - lower RPM speeds have more soot than road speed heated engine exhaust systems. To help mitigate the soot. I suggest requesting a manual regeneration at first light, and before your go into your evening idle.

At this time - No. The pathway to a LOW mile used box truck with sleeper is either as after market process ($18,800) or a sacrificating of box space on a 28 or 30 foot used box.

The curtain offering from the factory is the one shown. The wrap around curtain is an after market add. The interior molding along the windshield limits the amount of available surface to adhere the tracking. This resulted in a larger investment for the semi style curtain - but there is a path.

Is it possible to get the storage boxes on the side, underneath the box?
Great Question! and absolutely!!. The undermount boxes - and the items stored there will reduce the available payload a bit. But, Yes! undermount boxes can be installed.
The pricing for the undermount boxes vary base on size, mounting and bracing, and the need for insulation and more.
The Pricing point starts at $365 and progresses up from there.

An interesting point - and thank you for the question. Is you are running a single driver operation, where only one occupant will be in the truck at a time, there is a fix for this.
If you are in a team environment, two persons at a time, there is an alternative option that might work too.
The Single operator decision - passenger seat versus configured cabinet to manage a refrigerator and microwave.
The team environment would add a roof mounted attic - an aftermarket compartment above the cab.
Do I need cdl, cause sum states will require a person to have cdl if truck has air brakes and how much do u want for that box truck with sleeper?
So for most states, though you do need to check with your primary state, you have to be above 26,000 pounds to worry about requirements for ai brake certification.
So if you’re pulling a trailer above 10,000 pounds if you’re GVW R is a 26,000 pounds yes you would have to worry about airbrakes

@Rab, you better be careful when u sleep inside your day cab truck. If u get caught by a DOT officer, u will get a tickets, it will dent your safety rating, and your insurance will increase significantly upon renewal.

The current pricing is for new - 109 without apu 123500 with APU.
This would not apply to modifications nor the surcharges that may come to exists during the order to production and delivery process.
An example is the body companies provide pricing as if the chassis is on ground (static to today) but their pricing is adjusted to the market price once the chassis is actually available and on ground. The greatest body increase from order date was a whopping $3950 due to liftgate and steel prices.

A new unit is currently priced at 137,000 USD. The addition of an APU adds 20,000 USD. The delivery is 4th quarter 2023. Expected market adjustments to pricing. To place order is $2500 order commitment with balance of down payment or 15% within 120 days of the projected chassis build - once established. The body build adds 11 weeks from the manufacturers receipt of the chassis from the transporter. The balance is due prior to pick up or from release to driveaway company for direct transport.

Great question! So there are a few things to know about this truck - it is a non cdl as the GVW must be below 26000 to claim it as non cdl. Another is that payload use is much different than GVW. To have an opportunity to meet federal bridge laws and transport 35000 # of payload will require a CDL tandem axle non refrigerated truck . Which this is neither refrigerated nor a tandem truck. Its limit is 8900 to 9400 pounds of payload. The range is established by taking the tare weight (including fuel and driver) from the GVW rating.

@@darrange6093 Great Question, By now this truck has definitely moved on. BUT - I have other in the pipeline. The current pipeline is August for new. - $99700 before tax and registration. The used trucks of this style are also gone (for today) as so many kind people have viewed and sought out this truck.
Options for mostly immediate need have been booting to the box and sacrificing some box length with an interior wall and bunk "kit"

Working with me on post documentation (55 days avg) for - removing the body, extending WB, installing sleeper, reinstalling body. Which add 16,800 - 18,800. you sill have the 26 foot useable body AND a 33" sleeper.
What is the gross vehicle weight ratings on this truck?
The GVW is 26000# - It is a NON CDL GVW - the payload can manage 12 pallets with enough room to also transport a pallet jack. Tare weight changes with the seasons and moisture content. so it is best to establish the first of the year and the middle of the year to weight the truck.
At the first of the year remember to send a copy of the odometer to yourself and your accountant for tax purposes.

Could you please help.This truck can carry how many pounds? Is it the 26ft 24ft that cant carry 26,000 pounds or is that a bigger truck
Great question! The reality of 'payload' - what you can carry, vs GVW for non cdl - i.e. 26000#. CDL driver license requirements start at a GVWR rating of 26001#. If you are operating a 26000# and NOT pulling a trailer then you are NON CDL. BUT! if you carry hazardous materials that require a placard all bets are off. (Why mention this? - well making definitive statements will bring a lot of heat from viewers who would rightly point out this very important rule).
But for the rest of the driving community that will not be carrying said hazardous materials.
So body length does no impact CDL or non cdl status.
The amount the truck can carry - rated GVVW - less body weight - less chassis weight - less fuel - less driver ======= useable payload - or what you can carry. This is why sales professional provide a range weight estimate. With a 100 gallon tank - you can transport up to 800# of fuel. After a big lunch - the driver - believe it or not - also will weigh more. The constants become the chassis and - fore the most part - the body.
The payload evaluation I ran on this truck ended at 8940# of payload.
Yeah, I know - I could have started with that, but I believe the full explanation is warranted.

Are 26ft box truck drivers required to have IFTA License?
No, the IFTA stickers are required for any carrier crossing state lines with a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000lbs.
Now, if you get a truck that requires a CDL, then yes, you will need IFTA and apportioned registration, and random/pre-employment drug testing.
"What is IFTA certification in trucking? IFTA stands for The International Fuel Tax Agreement. IFTA is an agreement between the lower 48 states and 10 Canadian provinces to help simplify fuel tax collection and reporting for interstate commercial carriers."
Alaska, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia are not a part of IFTA.
What is the fine for not having an IFTA sticker? Note once you have an IFTA sticker on your vehicle, you must file quarterly reports, even if you did not operate your vehicle out of your home state. There are penalties, including a $50.00 fine, for not filing the quarterly report.
So, there is not a requirement for IFTA on a NON CDL truck.

Terry, Thank you for the question. The truck will have DOT requirements as its GVW exceeds 10000# and will be driven on public roads. The drive will have to comply with the DOT medical card requirements. There are some exceptions to agriculture, but when you state furniture - it bypasses any connection to the silo.
The Public Good is what the law enforcement will be sighting - as even rental trucks above 10000# GVW have to comply with the Local, State, and Federal regulations.
I this case though NO CDL IS REQUIRED as long as the GVWR is under 26001, and the full load does not exceed 26000.

This truck is available to order not available to deliver. The current pre-surcharge pricing is $126,900.
The delivery of the chassis to the body company is projected in the second quarter of 2023.
The process to place an order is $2500 non refund on the order slot.
At 120 days from production the greater of 10% or the approved down money from the funding source is required.
Once the chassis is received by the body company, they will forward their market surcharge adjustment. This amount is added to the cost of the truck.
It's also at their receipt of the truck that the lending is reconfirmed.
There are two delivery options available at the time of order. Direct delivery or Pick up at Lee-Smith. The delivery costs are 3rd party quoted as an addition to the price noted above. And, it too is market adjusted prior to delivery.

Great question!. NOPE. At least Federal roads - Nope. There could be a state regulation where domicilied.
But lets looks at the federal notes.
If OVER 26000 (i.e. 26001 GVW and UP) then air brake certifications are required.
If pulling a trailer over 10000# rating - Then, air brake certification are required (if equipped) and CDL too (yep the 10000# trailer is the marker).
Else, NOPE.
