Carole King, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, All three are multi instrumentalist singer/songwriters of the Highest Quality. Everything they did was/is GOLD.
This is one those songs that we Boomers mean when we say so much of the music from our era is timeless. I cannot imagine a time when this tune is not regarded as beautiful.
Carole King's Tapestry spent 318 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, including 15 consecutive weeks at number one in 1971. This made it the longest-charting album by a female solo artist for over 40 years, until Adele's 21 broke the record in 2017.
"You're so Far Away. Doesn't Anybody Stay in One Place Anymore? It Would Be So Fine to See Your Face at My Door. But it Doesn't Help to Know That You're So Far Away" That is another huge hit from Carole's historic album "Tapestry" which stayed on the Billboard chart for over a year back in 1972.
Carole King wrote You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman. Aretha performed it at the Kennedy Center Honors when the honored Carole King. A legendary performance to react to.
With the number of award winning songs she has written for various artists, I can almost guarantee that you've heard at least one of them! She is one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. I was drawn to her piano skills! I've played piano for as long as I can remember. And I thought with enough practice i could be that great! Well, that was 45, 47, years whatever, it was a long time ago and I'm STILL practicing!
🌻🎶🌼evervytime I hear a beautiful song from my youth, I tell myself how lucky we were to grow up with these incredibly talented singers!! So sweet! 🥰 "I Feel the Earth Move" 🎉🎉
Close to ten years ago I was fortunate to see the play "Beautiful"-The Carole King Life Story on Broadway It was phenomenal and I couldn't believe how many hit songs she wrote for so many artists One extremely talented lady
Carole King grew up in a fertile musical environment. Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick... the Brill Building inhabitants. The women wrote, "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" when she was fourteen! When ya got it, ya got it. Tapestry is an epic album...every cut is fantastic. Check out James Taylor's, "Fire and Rain"... similar genre. King and Taylor were good friends. Nice reaction of a massive classic!❤
As a songwriter and composer, Carole King plays the piano. Soft rock = adult contemporary pop. King definitely infused elements of jazz, folk, and rock in Its Too Late as she does with most of her songs. If you check out her song "Corazon" you'll hear Latin influences on that track.
Carol King was a prolific songwriter. True story: Carol was walking down the street in New York City when she saw a producer she knew passing her on the busy sidewalk. They waved and she passed him by and suddenly heard him calling her. She stopped and he yelled,” Carol write me a song for Aretha. Something about a natural woman.” She wrote the song Natural Woman. It became a huge hit for Aretha Franklin. She was that great of a songwriter that producers have that much faith in her. She was a treasure.
Hey JM, I just want to say how seriously cool it was when you did this EPIC song.... GREAT STORYTELLING!! | Alice's Restaurant - Arlo Guthrie (Reaction)
Oh my Lord! I listened to her. Aswell as all my girlfriends, obsessively in the 70's. Women's lib and all that. I haven't thought of Tapestry in a long time. Revisiting time. Thank you.
Every track on this album is classic-treat yourself to the whole album-everyone who had a record collection in the 70s had this album and for good reason.
Friday Night, 8:37 pm... It's a nice night to sit outside, spark up my pipe, turn on the outside speakers so the entire valley can hear it and watch your reaction to Boz Scaggs - Loan Me A Dime.... Then... C.C.R. - "I Put A Spell On You"... TOO COOL
Most saxophone solos are played on "alto saxophones" or occasionally "tenor saxophones". This song featured a "soprano saxophone" which is fairly rare. It almost sounds like a clarinet due to its similar size. I love the instrumentals on this song, along with great lyrics and melody.
When I was in high-school in the late 70's a girl I dated turned me on to this album and is was a great album to listen to while hanging out at the park. Great reaction.
There's a club in West Hollywood called the Troubadour , It's where artist went to try to be discovered , That's where Carol king ,Carly Simon , James Taylor , Elton John , Don Henley , Just to name a few who got their start there ! It's still there to this day , I used to live 3 blocks from there , It was cool to walk past it knowing its history ! That's the first place Elton John played in August of 1970 !
This woman is even beloved by the Metal community even the guy's in Metallica and Slayer and even old school bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden all love her music. I believe James Hetfield once said if you listen to her music can hear Metal riffs in her music, just pick a song any song and you'll hear a riff you've heard in at least 1 metal song somewhere.
One of the most prolific sone writers of the 20th Century. Some of her earlier works, some co-written with Gerry Goffin, JM Boy - you might have heard some of these, or heard OF some of these: "Go Away Little Girl" (Steve Lawrence) "Oh No Not My Baby" (Maxine Brown) "Take Good Care of My Baby" (Bobby Vee) "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman" (Aretha Franklin) "Up On The Roof" (The Drifters). JMBoy - you'll be pleasantly surprised if you take some time to listen to maybe four or five other Carol King songs.
A National Treasure wrote this; Carole is from my generation. We are all in our 70s and 80s and these musicians have gifted you some of these best songs you will ever hear. 50+ years ago and the songs still stand out! Here's an updated version of this by Gloria Estefan of Miami Sound Machine. She honors Carole beautifully. ua-cam.com/video/ey_ha_ovso8/v-deo.htmlsi=FUOBIdqUl1bLVzJ5 ✌✌🎶🎶
Huge Album , Most noted writing songs for others in the 60's . Something like 12 certified hits including Supremes Baby Love & You make me feel like a natural woman for Aretha Franklin ! Which she recorded on this record
I'm very pleased that I got you nearly Addicted to Boz Scaggs, so lets add the last song on Silk Degrees album, You are going to really like... "Harbor Lights"
I will Smile a Mile Wide if you are able to do a "Triple Play" of three songs only 2.5 minutes each... Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - "I Second That Emotion"... "Oooh Baby Baby"... "More Love"... and you will smile too.
I thought this was such a great no fault break up song. Sometimes there isn't a bad guy. As you say love is a choice not the "feeling". I wish my first hubs & I knew that. We got back together many years after our our divorce. We were friends first but got caught up in what we thought love and marriage should be like (honeymoon) rather than being grateful for how comfortable we were.
Carole King wrote or co-wrote 118 top 100 songs and recorded 25 of her own albums. World class career.
Wow

Yeah, I would call this folk-rock, a genre that was much more prevalent at tge time.

Every track on this album is classic-treat yourself to the whole album-everyone who had a record collection in the 70s had this album and for good reason.
Yes, I think this could be soft rock. A really great songwriter singing some of her own tunes. ❤
Such a beautiful artist!! Her music is awesome. Such a great writer for LOTS of artists as well. 😊
For most of her songs, that will also be her on the piano. Tremendous musician,

Great reaction.
Great album. The begiinning notes on the piano is unique. I don't think that there's any other song that has a similar intro piano part.

The number of Carole King authored songs that other singers made extremely popular is mind-boggling!
I don’t know anyone back in the day that didn’t have this album. Everyone had this album. I think I even bought the cd too.

What a great song, beautiful voice! Next, you gotta check out “Both Sides Now” by Joni Mitchell, vocals are also beautiful, released in 69. ✌️
I'm very pleased that I got you nearly Addicted to Boz Scaggs, so lets add the last song on Silk Degrees album, You are going to really like... "Harbor Lights"

The “greatest” breakup song of all time
React to Natural Woman written and sung by Carole King
