If you are of a certain age this song and album hold a special place in your heart and memory. Her music left an indelible mark throughout the 70s. 'Tapestry' is one of the top selling albums of all time, and in 2020 Rolling Stone magazine ranked it 25 on its list of the *greatest* albums of all time. You are in rarified air here my friend. Check out "So Far Away" by Ms. King next.
OMG, the entire Tapestry album is a masterpiece! The musical "Beautiful" is based on Carole's life. Beautiful is a song from Tapestry. This album came out during my difficult high school years, and Tapestry helped me keep my sanity. I sang songs from Tapestry when I was anxious and it chilled me right out! She is my role model, and I became a singer because of Carole. She is a powerhouse!
Carole King is truly a world-class songwriter. Her Tapestry album was on the turntable constantly for years. Everyone from Soul Groups, The Beatles and even Grand Funk Railroad have covered her songs.
It can't be understated how big this album (Tapestry) was. Still one of the best albums ever. It had so many incredible songs, powerful and meaningful, just hit after hit. These songs were on the radio all the time. This is a great one.
Tapestry is such a fire bit chill album. When I was a child I learned all of the words to all of the songs on the album. So Far Away was my favorite on the album.
Multiplatinum album from one of the many great songwriters of this generation ....... my favorite from her..... Neil sedaka, Paul Simon, Randy newman,,jim croce, ,james Taylor, and on and end on
Thanks, Shawn.. Carole remains one of the most celebrated and talented songwriters.. not only for her beautiful voice, but her contributions to other amazing singers.. Aretha Franklin.. "Natural Woman" for one.. I love that you appreciate her... (check out the incredible King-Goffin catalogue)
Shawn, I was 12 years old and in 7th grade, when this song was released on April 16, 1971. This song finished the year at #4 on NYC’s 77 WABC Radio’s Top 100 of 1971.
Great reaction again…love watching you feel the music. Obvious you have a very intentional and astute ear. You aren’t working at it, which makes me feel like we just popped in the 8 track of Tapestry (one of the greatest albums of all time) in my VW van for the first time, and it’s the 70’s once again. Should have been your decade bro.
James Taylor did feature in other tracks from the album Tapestry, playing acoustic guitar in "You've Got a Friend"(Taylor recorded his own version too)、"So Far Away" and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"(He sang background vocal too).
Jazzman please, and I would really love to have you listen to Smackwater Jack, it’s Carole King at her storytelling best. You will love both of them I’m sure.
React to Natural Woman the song Carole King wrote for Aretha Franklin and then recorded it herself on the song you're playing now she's playing the piano she was born with perfect pitch which is very rare
Timeless. It never ever gets old...stands the test of time. 52 years later since it was released and still sounds fresh.

Absolutely.
The power of music is special! Definitely had my music growing up that helped me breathe in difficult times

Carole is one of the greatest songwriters and a fine singer in her own right!

Tapestry is one of the best albums ever written, a masterpiece
One of the best breakup songs ever ❤
Living in those days was phenomenal,,sorry this new generation has nothing so sad
I love how you react to songs. You're a real person. Some people just smile at everything and give no real thought to the songs.
Shawn is fun to watch. A duo who are brothers
called AirPlay Beats are also really fun
But I wish he would do more Karen Carpenter!

Every song on this album is gold.
Another great great song/album from 1971 ...the best year in music
Tapestry was such a huge album back in 1971!❤
Simply an amazing album.
This song is my favorite by Carol King, although all her songs were good.👍👏👏👏💜
One of the few perfect albums. Carol King : Tapestry Pink Floyd: Dark side of the moon Fleetwood Mac : Rumors
Steely Dan :Aja Boston : First album

I don't know why, but this album always struck me as the perfect background music for a rainy day while cleaning the house or making a big meal.

Appreciate it man, I love diving in and listening and feeling this music ❤ thanks for hanging
Love Carole King👏🏻🌷 this is such a beautiful song!! ♥️🎼
YES Carole was on fire Great reaction
A real Masterpiece. 🎶🎶🎶👍
Born in early 70s but this album and song sounds relevant every time I hear her. Her induction in the hall of fame was so cool!😊😊
Her more significant role is as a composer.
Yet another gem.
James Taylor did feature in other tracks from the album Tapestry, playing acoustic guitar in "You've Got a Friend"(Taylor recorded his own version too)、"So Far Away" and "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"(He sang background vocal too).
Everyone needs a Solid, check out her BBC In Concert from 1971. Things will not be the same ... Truly! ... :)
My favorite Carole King somg. At the age of 6!! I’d put this record on and these songs were in my soul. I can’t describe it.
Carol's best LP. Listen to it two or three times in a row.
Try her "So Far Away." Fair warning, that one is a tearjerker.
The Whole LP is really good, I have it. And yes this is one of the songs on it.
AHHHHHH YES, HERE YA GO SHAWN!!! 👍😊THE WHOLE ( TAPESTRY ) ALBUM WAS FYYYRRR! 😊
Just a masterpiece. What a talent she is. Thanks for hitting this one and nice review.
Your reactions always delight me.
🥰🥰🥰
There's not a bad song on this album but one of my favorites is Smack Water Jack.
Her voice. If I could wave a magic wand I would want her voice or Bonnie Raitt.
Taylor Swift has got nothing on Carole. Took my mother to see Carole and James Taylor during their Troubador tour. What a killer show.
If you haven’t already done her song, jazzman and another song called smack water jack kind of a story song
Smackwater Jack!
Jazzman please, and I would really love to have you listen to Smackwater Jack, it’s Carole King at her storytelling best. You will love both of them I’m sure.
Bought it new
This song always gave me Todd Rungren vibes for some reason.

Jazzman!! Check it out
i got dumped to that album still a good one.
She sings slightly off-key, but the songwriting and the musicians are top notch.
You wish you could sing off key like Carole!
@@joelliebler5690 It's just a fact.
@@rhwinner You can take your so called fact and shove it up where the sun don’t shine!😡
Wow imagine that a singer singing without auto tune. I’ll take it any day over the real crap we hear nowadays.
@@mikerichards67 I agree.
