Nerdy tip, I think the name Pico name comes from the metric (SI) prefixes - in order from largest to smallest there's milli, micro, nano, and then pico (like milliamps, micrometers, and picofarads)
I was about to write the same. It's funny isn't it. Everyone who uses metric is like "yeah, well, pico is just the prefix for a very small number". Americans be like "wow, it sounds expensive" :D
So pico represents 10^-12. Starting with milli, that's a thousandth, micro is one millionth.. then 1 thousandth of that is nano and another thousandth represents pico. Sorry it's just in my job description to represent my salary 😀

@@AndrewStottisTheIndiWerWlfYeah. It's funny how certain names take and some don't. No one calls the Queensboro bridge the Ed Koch bridge , but they still might call it the "59th St Bridge '.

These guys make great pedals! And, they're in my backyard. Elephant Foot Risers have fitted risers available for the Pico series now! Yes, it's pronounced Tri-borough - Pete is correct.
Maybe when you get the Deep Freeze you could shoot it out against other similar effects (Infinite, Gamechanger, multi-effects units, reverb freezes, etc)
Mr. Pete, I don't want to drink, "Pee-Cola." Pico- is a prefix meaning, "One-trillionth." Pete is correct. The Tri-Borough is a bridge in NYC that connects three of the five boroughs. I LOVE that drive sound. Update, I also love the distortion! I don't really like fuzz, ever. That's fine.
@@kunkmiceter Only if you want the filter knob and button that comes with this pedal or want a smaller footprint. Maybe use the pog like Thin Lizzy and Boston with thier dual guitar solos at different octaves. Especially as a soloist. There are other bands that use octaves regularly. Eagles etc. But as a soloist that pedal would be great. Just not the way you are using it
Pico => multiplier of isize, dimension. Look that: micro =10^-6; nano = 10^-9; pico = 10^-12. Eg.: capacitance of 100 picoFarads (very small capacitance); a chip has 2 nanometers technology (in other words 2,000 picometers). and so on...
These pedals are not in the Micro format. EHX already has a "Micro" format and a "Nano" format. These are in the "Pico" format. Milli = Thousandth, Micro = Millionth, Nano = Billionth, Pico = Trillionth. The next smaller pedal series would be the Femto series then Atto, etc.
Interesting that the Pitchfork is exactly the same price as the Pitchfork+, so it's really about whether you want either bigger with more features or simpler and tiny. I have the + and it is a bit daunting to dive into everything it can do, but just having 2 separate pitch shifters is worth it to me.
Pico is a million times smaller than micro ( micro is a millionth, or 10^-9) and a thousand times smaller than nano. You are likely familiar with a millimetre, which is a thousandth of a metre. A micrometre is a millionth of metre. A nanometre is a billionth of a metre. A picometre is a trillionth of a metre. It is quite small.

That fuzz tone from the Triboro was surprisingly good
Whenever anyone asks me whats the best pedal brand I always say EHX. Mike Mathews is a Genius!.
at one point it was very mikoish, with the attack delay and triboro combined, an interesting vid.
