Nerdy tip, I think the name Pico name comes from the metric (SI) prefixes - in order from largest to smallest there's milli, micro, nano, and then pico (like milliamps, micrometers, and picofarads)
I was about to write the same. It's funny isn't it. Everyone who uses metric is like "yeah, well, pico is just the prefix for a very small number". Americans be like "wow, it sounds expensive" :D
pico de gallo
So pico represents 10^-12. Starting with milli, that's a thousandth, micro is one millionth.. then 1 thousandth of that is nano and another thousandth represents pico. Sorry it's just in my job description to represent my salary 😀
Yes, it's greek
I was yelling this in my head when they were talking about it.
pete is right about tri-boro-queens, manhattan and the bronx that bridge connects them all and when it ends in Queens it comes down into Astoria Queens only a few miles from Steinway piano company. i grew up there.
That's the one that was renamed the RFK (Robert F Kennedy) Bridge right?
Yeah but no one calls it that lol
i don't know i haven't been there in years.
@@AndrewStottisTheIndiWerWlf
@@AndrewStottisTheIndiWerWlfYeah. It's funny how certain names take and some don't. No one calls the Queensboro bridge the Ed Koch bridge , but they still might call it the "59th St Bridge '.
I grew up in New Jersey. The Dane nailed it. It's pronounced locally as the "Try-Borough" bridge
Always a giggle - with insights and value, of course. Cheers fellas!
Awesome! Was wondering if y’all were going to review these! Excellent work as always
These guys make great pedals! And, they're in my backyard. Elephant Foot Risers have fitted risers available for the Pico series now! Yes, it's pronounced Tri-borough - Pete is correct.
Love the videos guys I watch everyday. Id love to see a review of the tonebone plexitube overdrive pedal vs other tube overdrive pedals. Thank you so much for the interesting and informative videos.
OMG, love that Pitch Fork pedal. Totally Epic!!
Pete I love your playing. Top notch man.
Holy hell! Lee is twisting those knobs! Well done!
They should have a series’s where all the pedals are the size of the original big muff
Loved seeing a full demo of the whole Pico lineup. I already have the Pico POG, and man the little thing is amazing!
I have the nano pog, do you think it'd be worth upgrading to the pico or not enough difference?
@@kunkmiceter Only if you want the filter knob and button that comes with this pedal or want a smaller footprint. The only other POG that has the filter is the POG 2, but it comes at a big price increase.
It's personally worth it for me as I want some control over the overall tone of the octaves, but I don't want a huge footprint or pay the large cost for the pog 2.
Without the filter knob both the Pico and nano sound nearly identical. With it though, it opens a huge amount of tones that the nano just doesn't have. You have to decide if that's worth it to you. For me personally, yes it's absolutely worth it.
@@1MrJack1 do you see any downside from switching from micro to Pico or is it worth it?
Really nice! Good work Electro Harmonix!
Maybe when you get the Deep Freeze you could shoot it out against other similar effects (Infinite, Gamechanger, multi-effects units, reverb freezes, etc)
That Triboro in overdrive is very nice. Love it
The Triboro sounds trifabulous! I’m sold. Got it’s own thing. Love the 3 in 1.
Fuzz on the Triboro sounds very similar to lizard queen. It’s like a very sappy/electric feel. Sick demo per usual boys
Hey guys, the “TriBoro” is short for the Tri Borough Bridge that connects three boroughs in NY…. Love these vids.
That pitch fork demo had me laughing my nads off!
Mr. Pete, I don't want to drink, "Pee-Cola." Pico- is a prefix meaning, "One-trillionth."
Pete is correct. The Tri-Borough is a bridge in NYC that connects three of the five boroughs. I LOVE that drive sound. Update, I also love the distortion! I don't really like fuzz, ever. That's fine.
The Tri-boro, or the RFK, connects Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx. I used to walk across it frequently to go to randall's island, harlem or occasionally the Bx when I lived in Astoria for 6 years.
Love that Triboro!
So happy with Pete calling out the neck shaking haters 😂
15:55 I LOVE the editing in Andertons videos 🤣
This channel its amazing i hope one day my dreams it comes true to play guitar in the uk its my dream im so glad ive found your channel in these days i love England ⭐🌞🌟🌟🎸⭐🎸🌞🌞🌞⭐⭐🎸🌞🌞🎸🎸🎸🎸🌟🌞🏴🏴🏴🏴
That fuzz tone from the Triboro was surprisingly good
Hope we get muff’s in this series! I need one but can’t squeeze any on my board currently 🤞🏼😬🤞🏼realllyyyyyy want a plethora 3 as well; these are sick though!
at one point it was very mikoish, with the attack delay and triboro combined, an interesting vid.
I agree; tri-bono was the highlight pedal to my ears
@SomeKindOfMadman Oh Goddess, no! Not a Tri-Bono pedal! The world has quite enough Bono with just one of him.
That rerun pedal is going to sell like hot cakes.
Thin crust,Pete. That’s NYC standard.I’m born and raised there❤😂👍🏿
Just what the world needs…more pedals
What could pedal manufacturer Electro Harmonix make that the world DOES need?
Here's a trick I do with the Attack Decay:
Run the Attack Decay after a delay (e.g., a Memory Man) in both channels of a parallel splitter pedal (e.g., a Boss LS-2).
Mix the two channels to create a wonderful reverse-like delay.
You are one the few ppl I have ever seen use the abbreviation "e.g." properly- thank you. Most ppl seem to think it means "in general" which is actually the opposite of what it means. Not a big deal- if I can understand what they mean, I'm not going to correct someone's speech but- it's something I always notice. That said- UA-cam is an informal setting so- I can't stand when ppl start policing everyone's spelling and grammar. It's a UA-cam comment, not an essay.
If you want a compact spring reverb that drips the Oceans is the best I've heard.
I like the tape delay
I'm sad they didn't make an even smaller version of the big muff
I like smaller muffs myself.
I used to own a holy grail reverb, absolutely loved it, these sound..... peculiar, defo not worth that money I wouldn't say
Whenever anyone asks me whats the best pedal brand I always say EHX. Mike Mathews is a Genius!.
I live one block from the triboro bridge. I need one of those
The lightsaber had me cracking up.
DOUBLE BOUND GOLD GOODNESS - OOOOOOF!!!!!
Plus we have 5 boros.. Staten island, queens , the bronx , Brooklyn and Manhatten.
EHX never fails.
Im a guitarist and i love boyzlife songs like the one 🌞🌟🌟🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
The POG was cool. Sonwas the ReRun
I like that t style guitar.
It would be good if any of these Guitar Pedal makers could put the Ducking Function to any of their Delay Pedals , its a pretty handy function to have on a delay Pedal .
Walrus Audio has been doing this for a bit now
The Pog and Pitch Fork seem to have a lot of overlap. The Pog seems more focused (whammy style sounds) where the Pitch Fork covers more ground
These are cool and its interesting to see development in dsp, maybe there is hope for a bigger dsp unit with multiple fx built in and midi.
There are many already
@@jonholland6067 not even the pog has midi mind an ehx pedal with midi that contains a pitchfork, pog, canyon and the various synth engines. That would be cool, there are other pedals that do stuff but usually the tracking doesn't match ehx.
@@jonholland6067 I think he means from EHX specifically. Do they already have something like that?
Yo Andertons - It's pronounced TRY-BORO bridge and it was renamed a few years ago to RFK Bridge aka as the Robert F Bridge or to be more formal, the Robert F Kennedy Bridge. Stil, we are a stubborn lot here and continue to refer to it as the Triboro. Anyway its an expansive bridge that connects Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx.
Word!!!
Raul from Brooklyn
Manhattan: OG EH HQ
Queens: Current EH HQ
Bronx: Birthplace of MM
Yeah the Triboro is a popular bridge in NYC I got lost visiting family was supposed to be on the George Washington bridge and somehow we took a wrong turn and ended up on the triboro and took an extra 2 hours to get home!keep that pedal away from me haha
Would love to hear Pico Pog VS Micro Pog
I don't like spring reverb all that much, but I thought they nailed the sound.
Alright for a home practice set up but whether they are overpriced compared to say - tone city, will be the big question.
46:41 That's 'cause the POG is digital, Pete.
I thought he knew this 😂
So wait… you guys are back in the UK, and posting post-trip vids before US trip vids?!? C’mon - we want to see those US tour videos!
Would put the POG and Pitch Fork before the fuzz/od. Sounds great either way, though! Pete's got such tasteful playing.
Yep, pitch and octave before gain sounds best.
I’d like a pico version of the East River Overdrive
I prefer if they don’t spit😂😂😂 Pete, you’ve done it again lmao!!
The attack/delay gives a guitar the same kind of attack you get from a violin or another bowed instrument.
Veo que aquí a muchos les gustó el pico. Saludos desde Chile
New signature delay pedal Re-Pete
Loving that Triboro - what amp are you using?
NM Friedman - you probably don't need the pedal :)
The seal joke😂
pronounced "Try-borough", with emphasis on the TRY, TRYboro, love your show!
Triboro -as in Manhattan, Queens, and The Bronx. Tri, as in three; long I sound (eye). A bridge in New York.
There are 5 boroughs in New York, queens, Brooklyn , manhattan, Bronx, staten island
Lee...it's pronounced "Tri - Burrow". NY has 5 boroughs... Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. 😉
Love them, I really do…but they have no idea what to do with the POG 😂
The Deep Freeze dosent have the soft switch currently installed on the standard model.I was surprised and disappointed by that, - resolving a long standing issue only to revert.I get that the actual parts are more expensive and maybe(?) not so easily fit into the mini format, but damn, - are the margins that tight?
Overall some smart choices that should make EHX more competitive; the mini thing isn't important to me, however; I personally dislike dealing with the cramped knob placement, and my feet are too big to lay out a group of mini's together anyway.
Their next step should be WAZA ing some of their more singular designs, like the Hot Tubes and Soul Food.
22:47 Anderton's humour
😂 Tri-Borough! There are 5 Boroughs of NYC - TriBoro Bridge is a bridge in New York connecting Manhattan Queens and The Bronx.
Picofarad / microfarad used for capacitor size, pF/ uF
Thick crust is Chicago specialty’s
They got rid of the presets on the attack decay and then charged more... becuase it's smaller?
EHX need some multifx pedals that have many in one
Pico as in picogram.... nano as in nanogram ✌️
Pico pyure betroom floeWER!
Triboro say it fast boro is borrow ,there are five boroughs triboro connects 3 of them👍🏿
So yes Thats why they call it a piccolo and its also the bridge between 3 types of pedals 😂
Piccolo...😊😂
I think that 'Sweep' on the Pitchfork must mean Sweep from 'Sooty & Sweep' It sounds like him anyway!
Maybe use the pog like Thin Lizzy and Boston with thier dual guitar solos at different octaves. Especially as a soloist. There are other bands that use octaves regularly. Eagles etc. But as a soloist that pedal would be great. Just not the way you are using it
29:50 it's like it is a limiter pedal.
Any guesses as to the total value of all the gear in that room?
I'm guessing around $80k maybe?
Deep freeze?
He said "Joe satriation". Lolol it didn't go unnoticed Pete.
Great- half the pedal for twice the price! /s
Just curious. Are all these digital?
What in the Sam Hill are the red LED numbers flashing in the background on the right side?
Decibel meter
@@benford1726 Thanks.
Chicago is deep dish.
Yeah, but I am glad they did not try yp pronoucr Sicilian. 😅
Some of those devices were PAINFUL. That Pitch Fork hurt.
Pico => multiplier of isize, dimension. Look that: micro =10^-6; nano = 10^-9; pico = 10^-12. Eg.: capacitance of 100 picoFarads (very small capacitance); a chip has 2 nanometers technology (in other words 2,000 picometers). and so on...
Well, i really hate mini pedals but these at least have knobs which don't always change setting when you step on the footswitch.
Where's the Freeze pedal? That's the only one I'm interested in.
Interesting that the Pitchfork is exactly the same price as the Pitchfork+, so it's really about whether you want either bigger with more features or simpler and tiny. I have the + and it is a bit daunting to dive into everything it can do, but just having 2 separate pitch shifters is worth it to me.
How does Lee know so little about octave pedals? 😅
Pete is The Walrus...

What Pete plays at 35m22s sounds like Greensleeves to me. Even Lee doesn't seem to hear it.
