The send, return fx loop in the original makes it way superior.
I had, but returned due to the digital artifacts in the sound. The pico Pitch is the best of the new bunch after trying them all. Pico sustain is cool too
After playing around with it more the digital artifacts are too much for me (in poly mode). I’ll be keeping it for the mono mode which isn’t as bad.
TBH that’s what I thought through out all these demos.
Please compare fhe pitch forks! Would love to hear what ghe momentary switch is capable of with the pico!
I wish I owned them! I’ve been wanting to try one and compare to my digitech whammy.
I've had the original for several years. Indispensable on my main board. I get a really nice violin/cello sound - which is the reason it's on my board. Now I'm building an ambient board. I don't need the "harmonix" distortion (sounds pretty Big Muff-ish to me) so I had hopes of saving a little money and pedal board acreage. Alas, the the Pico's lack of presets, which are indispensable since the controls can get pretty fiddly, and noise and artifacts are unacceptable. Oh well, the price difference isn't that much. Good demo BTW.
The pico definitely won’t be on my board. I was hoping to use it just for some swells but it just doesn’t do what the bigger boy does. Thanks for checking out my video!
I could listen to your playing all day!! Nice!! (FYI-most playing/shredding here on YT annoys the fuck outta me…keep it up mate!!
Thank you!!!!!!! I’m glad I’m finding my people !
does it still do the weird glitchy stuff with attack and release full anti clockwise in Poly mode? + why would u say the pico is better in some ways?
Not sure about the weird glitchy stuff. I said the pico is better in some ways because of size and in mono mode the staccato can get a bit more percussive.
I picked up the Boss Slow Gear back in the 90’s and have had a few clones of that pedal since. Some of the digital versions have this thing, where a quick snipit of the signal (the attack) comes thru just before the gating (the effect is basically a really slow noise gate, right).
The OG Attack/Decay was digital when set to poly, and from the videos I saw, it also suffered from this “sneak attack”. The pico is all digital, but modern…does it fix this weird transient bleed?
I think it still has transient bleed. The poly mode is not great imo. The mono mode is cool but I had higher hopes for this pedal.
I find I can use those sneak attacks creatively.
@@RPMusicStudiosIt was about two weeks before I got a good sound. I almost decided to sell it. Now I particularly like it on the bass to get a cello sound.
@@johnmalcolm9980 It is definitely capable of getting a good sound. It's just a bit limited compared to its big brother.
So odd that this popped up in my recommends. For the past 4+ weeks Ive been doing basically the same things youve came up with. Ive been using almost the exact same set-up; original Attack/Decay, "Russian"/Green Big Muff, but with the "Walrus Slotva" reverb pedal(same type of Ambient, shoegazer reverb) and sometimes a Donner Echo Square pedal with a tremolo on, that mimics a wah in the settings that is just a little more noticeable then the Wah sounding artifact you are getting from the pico...
but on my Jazzmaster, not a Jaguar, so, um, yea, they sound nothing alike. As per my manager. lol
Nice! I totally agree that they sound nothing alike which really sucks. I wanted the pico on my board. I don’t need the extra features of the bigger one for live use. I do however love the fuzz in the big one.
Does the Pico do the bubbly Tera Echo thing?
Bubbly Tera Echo thing? Intriguing! Can you tell us more about that?
The “original” has 3 different attack and decay slopes that you can change.
The analog one?
I thought you were going to end the introduction with "but most of you will know me as James Hetfield".
Of course by "the original" you mean the digital reissue.
Yes. Digital vs digital
