    This guy is just amazing helping me a few years ago with a very old wjd 1457 Zanussi washer dryer which is still going.
    Just to say Paul you were extremely kind and helpful with your time phone calls and emails and diagrams... Which spurred me to believe I could fix what I thought was a very complicated thing you made doable.
    Hi I am a widow and was on that occasion not in a good place financially.... You save me the cost of a brand new machine and I learnt so much so thank you very much. ☺️

    Great videos Paul and at the right pace and detail for us older generation. Stripped a
    Hotpoint WMPG 742 Aquarius with collapsed drum bearings today.. It defies sanity when you have to scrap a whole drum instead of replacing bearings. Manufacturers should be ashamed of they're throw away world.
    As our machine was 8 years old I opted to buy a new machine instead of paying £150 for a new drum.
    I have the old 3 phase motor, pump, control board, water valves etc etc available if you want them for anyone. All serviceable. You can have them for free just get them collected.
    Keep up the good work, I wish I had a hoist those concrete blocks are quite hefty until removed.
    Great
    "B".

    Great video, thank you for taking the time to produce it. I have this model and the bearings have gone, I have spent a morning trying to locate a bearing set and now realise that they don't exist😖 it's going to be cheaper to buy a new machine! This is the second time I have encountered this problem - a Bosch I'd owned for only 18 months had the same 'built-in fault'. Sooooo angry 😡

    What an interesting and informative video. I thought i'd heard something about the right to repair that was introduced in 2021. Surely these companies should adhere to it. Such a waste.

      The manufacturers only care about selling new appliances for some unknown reason no one seems to care about making things to last anymore and certain legislation only applies in Europe not in the UK

      @@How-to-repair Good day to you.
      Firstly I must say having already dismantled my machine, I found your video a little humorous, engaging and informative, and you clearly not only know what you're talking about, but you illustrate and explain it so others understand... (so butter tub emptied) was wondering if you could advise, as my best guess is possibly the 'pressure sensor'...
      Problem is, the machine will not drain or spin after any wash cycle, and is throwing up an f05 error code, however when I eventually get most of the water out of the drum, the drain spin cycle works, additionally should any part of the motor retain any liquid, as there is a chamber above the coil pack, that appears to have a liquid within it that is sensitive to magnets. So based on what I have tried to explain, do you have any suggestions... Many thanks for your help, and i'll definitely will be subscribing.... Very knowledgeable

    Hi Paul
    I have just replaced the integral door lock switch,on my Hotpoint ultima washing machine the machine was displaying a F06 error code .
    everything seems fine after switching back on the power,but now the door won't lock, and there's no damage or debris in the way.
    what should I be looking for.
    kind regards

    I've had one of these (Splendide) machines in my RV for about 10 years without any issues. I've noticed that the slide out on my rv is beginning to sag a little bit, and I think that it's due to the heavy weight of my washer. Would it be okay if I removed the concrete weight from inside this machine to ease the stress on the slideout until I can get the rv in for repair? Thank you

    How to fixs drain hose hotpoint washing machine?

  • @anotherposter6488
    @anotherposter6488 Рік тому +1

    Hello paul, i have the exact same washing machine that has developed a loud knocking on the certain parts of the spin cycle, on checking with the top off it is due to the drum spring clicking across where it is supporting the drum itself, i believe this may be due to worn dampers, could you please advise on how to determine if the springs/shock absorbers are defective
    I removed the shocks themselves and they seem to have a lot of play in them, ie moved up and down with just a little pressure, how much resistance should one expect on a function damper ?
    Thanks

    • @photopuppet
      @photopuppet Рік тому

      Those dampers sound like they have had it, there should be a lot of resistance to moving them. If the machine is older, definitely worth replacing the spring as well as they also wear and lose resistance.

    Please can you help me? I have an error code f01 on a hot point washing machine NSWR 742U GK. everything else works like the water filling and the water draining but the bit when the drum should spin doesn’t happen. There is just a click noise. The drum also feels pretty loose like there isn’t any resistance when I manually spin it by hand. What do you think my machine’s problem is?

    Omg you know your stuff, please help my WMD940 K (UK). I went to turn on & I have no power to it at all.. Is it fixable?.. I spoke to an electrian he said only Hotpoint can programme it if it's the board that is. I opened washer up and nothing is burnt out tested the elec and all was working but nothing at the front which I think is the board for controls.. Can I fix this myself or not I would appreciate any help please TY 😊

    Thanks Paul! My machine is almost identical, the WMJLD 943. It powers up, display shows, but display switches off randomly. It can be seconds or several minutes after switching on, either before or during a washing program running. The only way we can get our machine to run the full progra is by holding down the power button continuously(at least 1 hour). It's not the fuse or power supply. I replaced the display/program board, same problem. Any idea what could be causing this?

    • @How-to-repair
      @How-to-repair  11 місяців тому

      This sounds like the on off button is breaking contact as load is introduced onto this switch so it would need replacing the contacts can burn and sometimes disconnect while the machine is on

      @@How-to-repair Thanks. I have already replaced the main LED board. This machine has a mind of its own. Rarely, it will witch on and complete a full wash. Sometimes, it will switch on and then the LED display and machine switch offduring the wash cycle. Sometimes, the LED control interface will switch on and stay on for 20, 30, 40 seconds or longer, then goes off. This is before any wash progam has been selected. Then other time, I have to hold the power button down continuously for it to power up. As soon as I release, the LED display goes off. Am at a total loss.

    • @How-to-repair
      @How-to-repair  Рік тому

      It should be safe in 30 seconds or so, but if you are ever worried you can always use an insulated screwdriver to short across the plug when it is disconnected, this would discharge any capacitors. Terrible to see that bearings can't feasibly be purchased these days. Is there a good place to get the sizes of bearings to try to match them up? My washing machine bearings sound like they're about to go and I can't find official parts anywhere. I'm going to take it apart and measure it up I think.

    • @eddienewall7265
      @eddienewall7265 Рік тому +1

      The fact that you can't find replacement bearings tells me that the bearings are part of the drum. Most machines are made like that now, so when the bearings go it's not an economical repair to buy a replacement drum, even if you could find one. Spending hundreds of pounds on what is usually an ageing machine is foolish.
