    A most useful video.
Tips based on this mornings experience with my WT741P:
The old bearings do rather resist being removed and I had to increase the amount of 'percussion' required beyond that I felt comfortable (ear defenders might've be an idea too!) but they did eventually come out. Replacing the inner bearing was tough - I found that using a large hammer and the old bearing shell helped start off the process. nb. even when fully in the water hole was still partially obscured. Big thanks.

A very useful series of videos, which made changing a broken spider much easier not that it can be described as easy. The main problem, as often is the case, the presenters don't use washing machines that have been subjected to years of use. The bearings don't "tap" out easily, they need pressing out. I used large sockets, old bearings, steel plates and my car coil spring compressors to wind out the old bearings.
It took me couple of days, but 80% of his time was remove/fit the tight bearings

I used the ring from the old bearing to knock in the large bearing most of the way, and a 4" length of old 3" plastic drain pipe, with a piece of 3 x 2 across the top to knock in the seal. Worked a treat.

I always use a socket to knock these bearings in as they are normally so delicate ,and it doesnt damage the race.

Very informative video. Personally when putting bearings and seals in I would use a socket as a drift, not everyone has the luxury of large enough sockets .The blunt chisel/ punch and piece of wood is ideal ,if you don't have access to large sockets. ( befriend your local forklift truck engineer as he will have sockets to suit)

Or use a suitable sized socket to drift the bearings in, no need then to use a drift punch or worse a chisel as shown,

On my machine a Hotpoint wmd960 the drum will not budge!! I have used a slide hammer and still unable to move the shaft. The outer bearing is free on the shaft which leads me to think the inner bearing is seized on. How do we get the bearings out in this situation??

Hi I tapped the shaft like you showed in your video, however the shaft doesn’t release from the bearings

Hi, a couple of questions. I've only worked on a US Top Loader in the US, and you had to be careful as it had a a big capacitor, so unplugging it wasn't all you had to do before working on it.
1/ These Front Loaders in the UK, are they safe when unplugged, or are there places you can still get a shock.
2/ Hoover Vision HD, VHD 822 Washing Machine
I'm hearing a sound from the back like the old sound of a bicycle chain going over a rear derailleur. It does it when it's doing its slow tumbling, not on spin. What is that likely to be?
    Thanks.

I've got an aqualtis. Apparently the bearings can't be changed. I'm going to have a look at it but if that's true then what other drums will fit this machine? It's such a great machine otherwise I ain't giving up on it

I just wish that WMA bearings would come out as easily as this video shows. Especially once they've seized AND just happen to be 35mm

I see one seriously problem. Where to buy this parts. On Hotpoint web, my model is showing as not found. On ebey I found bearing kit 6204z or 2z but second bearing is 6205z or 6203z. Which one is correct? How to buy a drum seal.

Yes, when he's inside the tub you can see plastic hexagonal nuts: on the back of the drum there are none
