@@gladdy02 Cadillac reliability isn't like it used to be. My grandmother still drives her 1992 that she bought brand new and the Mechanics tell her those were some of the last years Cadillac made some bulletproof engines. Just like Mercedes,BMW and Audi you can get a good deal with these preowned. Eventhough they aren't as reliable as a Lexus, Acuras or Infiniti their maintenance would be cheaper than Mercedes,BMW,Audi or Jaguar
My boss bought a lightly used 2019 CTS a few years ago in that same color, but with the 2.0T powertrain & the light gray interior. These are still one of the most beautiful sedans I've ever seen especially the front end & is better looking both inside & out than the current CT5 IMO.
I have owned Mercedes and BMW cars. I had so much trouble with all of them that I bought a Cadillac. We are now on our fifth one, an XT5 leased as a family driver and a CTS V6 purchased and intended as work and pleasure vehicle. Not one has given trouble and both XT5 and the CTS performs well. Sure, one can find a couple of niggles but this car equals any import.
Plastics being scratched up in the trunk is not a deal breaker. Does not matter if it was high quality or not, if you lay stuff on it, it is going to wear out. I'll easily get this car over the competition. Also the price of the is not that bad starting at $46K since a lot of engineering went into it. The base model 2.0 4 cylinder turbo, is a good car for someone who wants a Cadillac and does not want to spend much money on extra options they may not use half the time. And talk about the Infiniti Q70, nobody likes it so sales of the car is terrible compared to the CTS. The CTS is a work in progress but in the right direction.
I have a '14 Vsport and there are ZERO creaks and rattles inside... and my plastic cover in the trunk isn't scratched up either. What did you put in your trunk??!?!?
+Charlie Hein Probably a press car that takes testers do not treat as if they owned it. To ravage plastic that way took some effort, something any owner would avoid. Test drove a few CTS's, not one had a creak or any unusual noises either.
Very concise and sensible real-world review. I gotta agree with you on the pricing strategy of Caddys of late. I've been on the configurator for these and to get trivial things like a particular color ya get hit with option packages that make the cost soar. It's pretty much impossible to get the ideal combo and compromise is not a good business model for a luxury brand. They are so close to getting it right. So close.
To the bonehead reviewer, if you are frustrated with the volume controls on the CUE system, just use the buttons on the steering wheel like I do on my ATS. I gave up on the slider control 6 mos ago.
What motor u have? And, how satisfied are u with it? I'm thinking of getting an ats 3.6, or ats v also really considering a 3.6 cts or, cts v sport. But, I can't really find much information on how well these cars faired over the years. Cause I'm getting one used. I might even consider a 2.0t ats. But I'm not interested in a 4 cylinder midsize car and, I think the 2.5 is a waste of car.
@@bigstuntnsp the 3.6 LFX, LGX are okay as long as you change your oil every 3000 or 4000 miles. And 3.6l's are known for a having a decent amount of metal in the oil. The metal comes off the crankshaft. the 2.0l is decent as long as you run premium constantly or tune it for E85. You also have to change out a turbo every 100,000 miles.
I'm a 2017 CTS Luxury AWD.I bought it at 29000 k.I am an entusiast and I intend to drive it 4 more years.I'm from Quebec City Canada, and the CTS can make it's way in winter. Thanks for the review.Robert B.
Wow,,,I'm really impressed by your review......Thank you very much....I was thinking of buying one and thanks to you now I know the ups and downs of this car !
Great review! Excellent analysis/synopsis and definitely my favorite of yours. Hope Cadillac is listening and that some New York/CT6 influences are evident in the update.
This is your future talking. Its 2019 and Cadillac is discontinuing the CTS for the new CT4. I say, shit Cadillac quit changing the fricking names. Who in the hell knows what is what with the line up anymore..... 🙄
I just got a 2015 cts 2.0 turbo awd. I traded my 11 coupe for this car and love it. The interior is amazing and the car has way better gas mileage than the 3.6l
Aj aj I got a '14 premium 2.0 and I don't think the gas mileage is very good. Maybe the premium level is the heaviest trim, but my 3.5 accord got better gas mileage. You'd think a 4 cylinder would do better in that department
It's hard to take this reviewer seriously. He complains about the LED lights that illuminate when the ventilated seats are activated, but he DOESN'T complain about how ineffective the ventilated seats are. Other luxury brands offer cooled seats which are MUCH more effective and pleasant on a hot day. He complains about his perception of a >$40K car because the battery cover in the trunk is scuffed, yet he DOESN'T complain about the historically dismal depreciation rate of the >$40K CTS . He boasts about the improved rear seat space, but he has the front seat pushed forward and looks cramped and uncomfortable before he jumps in the back seat where the seating space still appears very limited.
Ken Brockington he got out of the front seats pretty well, and he may just feel comfortable having the front seats like that, every ones perceptive will differ, as I agree that the rear seats are quite cramped, and I don't know how I feel about how vertical they seat just yet, and the big hump in the middle of the rear, is quite annoying, and does not seat 3 people comfortable, but none the less, I love mine.
Ejiroghene Avwunuma Since you asked, I have a 2014 XTS. As a loaner vehicle, my dealer has provided me with the CTS and XT5 models, so I've spent several days driving these models. While the lights on the cue center panel never bothered me, the ventilated seats on the Cadillacs are far less effective than the cooled seats on Lincoln or other luxury car models. Whether or not he feels comfortable with the front seats moved forward, is irrelevant. When the average buyer positions the front seat in a normal position, the back seat is quite cramped as you said when you agreed with me. I'm glad you like your vehicle, I like mine too despite the drawbacks. But it's misleading to assert that the backseat space on the CTS is anything but cramped.
I have a 2014 Lexus GS350 and the ventilated seats are rather useless on my car too. They do nothing to help on the unbearably hot, Nashville summer afternoons I experience. Not to say that your criticism of the CTS isn't valid, Ken Brockington, but rather, effective ventilated seats are not problems unique to Cadillacs.
This man doesn’t own a Cadillac. Ventilated seats are best I’ve ever had in any vehicle…. However Cadillac cue (gel screen). Goes bad in 3-5 years. I replaced it on my own. My rear diff was leaking at 40k miles. That’s why I’m mad at Cadillac. Shitty engineering…
I hate big bolsters. Nobody needs em. Nobody I know has ever slid around in any older car either unless you drive real fast around curves which is dangerously stupid too and cops will getcha. Get back to comfortable seats!
When you bail American car companies out with U.S. taxpayers money illegally, of course the manufacturers i.e Ford and GM, are going to show you how much they appreciate your business.
I wouldn't buy one new, but used..they are very soft, making them a very good deal, and you can get a very low mileage model at virtually half price.
Bingo
I have the same idea
But how is that reliability?

True that you can get a 15 CTS vsport with 30k miles for now 23K, BARGAIN

The amazing depreciation of this car might have me picking one up. Miss my old 89 deville.
Ya, I miss the names you knew were Synonymous with the Cadillac...
Today they keep dropping and coming up with new names. It to confusing....

If that's all the cons, I'll just buy one used. Especially with the twin turbo!
Sold my 2006 cts and got a 2009. Love them both but the 09 is exactly what I want.
wait wait wait did he say the base model didn't come with leather. the only Cadillac I've seen without leather was a 70's model.
the one I was going to comment the same thing haha I haven’t seen a Cadillac without leather in my life haha
Not going to buy brand new but after somebody else deals with the depreciation, I'd be glad to buy it

Totally agree... No problems at all other than my heated seats aren't as strong as I would like them to be :p Probably just me tho

How many horses of 🔋
I have a Toyota Avalon but I love the Cadillac CTS and I will bay one
It's better than what Germany has to offer, They just have to work on CUE and the interior
I keep on hearing Hotline Bling in the background music
Wheres the moonroof??
Gorgeous car. This could very well be my next vehicle. Not a huge fan of Cue however.
My grandmother have this car in a 2018 model and she got a 2017 ct6
After I get my CTS. I'm going to graduate to a CT6
Awesome 😃 👍 2015 Cadillac CTS review .
7:15 most buyers are more careful with loading their trunks, and don't stick tripods in the trunk with a soft cover, unlike auto journalists.
I love the Cadillac CTS 2015

You mean CT5
Love this car go Cadillac strong engine well built vehicle
Did he really just complain about the cooled seat lights???
Mark Metivier Ya as if you suppose to stare at them while you watching the road...
I think what he did make perfect sense. Why would a red light come on when it cooling. Shouldn't it be blue???🤔
