Just bought this exact same CTS... couldn't even put into words how amazing it feels in and out of that car every day. it's simply beautiful from every angle
I'm choosing between this and the ATS coupé but I've seen the ATS coupé has extremely small and tight backseat head and legroom even for a coupe so I'm looking into this.
Such a great vehicle. One of the best American sedans. Sales seem to have dropped in the past 2 years but that still doesn't take away the significance of this car.
Love this car. I have 2018 model 2.0t luxury awd model got it with 10,000 miles and couldn’t be happier. Love this car. I had a 2014 bmw 3 series and this car excites me more. And I absolutely loved the bmw when I got it. So to have this car make me so excited to drive daily is beyond a blessing.
I have a 2017 Silver CTS Premium Luxury AWD 3.6L V6. I took delivery two weeks ago. It is an outstanding car. Plenty of power although not as much as my Mercedes E550 Coupe that it replaces. But absolutely enough as I have no trouble moving away from the pack. The handling is superb, as good as I have ever experienced, and I have owned an Audi, a Mercedes, a Porsche and two BMW's including a 428 which my wife currently drives . My alternative purchase was going to be a 2017 Mercedes AMG E43. I ordered that before I "found" the CTS. The Merc arrived before the CTS. I test drove it for an hour and a half and am thrilled to say that the CTS is a better handling car. The CTS also has a vastly better ride (mine has magnetic ride control). It is superb without being soft and just a joy when cruising on bumpy CA freeways. The combination of ride, handling, steering feel is just amazing. What a blast to drive! It has a very nice roar when accelerating but when cruising with the Bose noise cancelling audio system, it is a concert hall. I also have the new CUE which works fine. I found it intuitive with almost no learning curve where my wife's 428 requires all kinds of clicking to get things done and is far from intuitive. And the CTS cost a full $15,000 less than the price of the Merc E43 AMG. I could not be more thrilled. Caddy needs to fire up its marketing department. They are making a great car and not that many people know it.
I'm 17 and drive this car, feeling really blessed rn. Ours is the base 2.0T (with awd) but is still amazing. Love the apple CarPlay and tech, hate the plastic in the center, it is such a dust/fingerprint magnet and Even though I wipe it off pretty much everyday with a microfiber cloth (cause it annoys the hell out of me!) they don't really go away with all the hard corners in the design. As far as driving I don't have too much to base my thoughts off because I learned to drive in this car and it is the car I drive most but from what I know I can say the acceleration is quite good (with some slight turbo lag) and handling is very responsive and has a good weight to it (especially when in sport mode, which I usually have it in) it is many times more enjoyable than the 2017 Jetta that I (very irregularly) drive. The large trunk with an opening into the cabin is also more than adequate for anything I have ever tried to put in it and surprises me with its capacity. All in all I would 100% recommend it but like I said i don't have very much driving experience or experience with cars in general. (Just thought I'd add some of my comments here from firsthand experience 🙂)
Bought my 2019 Cadillac CTS, AWD, 2.0LT Luxury with Crystal White Tricoat and Cashmere interior that came off a 2 year lease with very low miles. Saved a lot of money compared to new price. Looks as good as it drives. Last year of this model car. I simply love it!!
In Vsport trim with the 3.6 twin turbo, it is without a doubt the best mid-size luxury sedan on the market in regards to chassis balance, precision, and overall car/driver connection. More "pure" of a driving experience even compared to the V because it's not carrying all the extra weight on the nose but has all the suspension goodies. It hits the niche perfectly. Kudos to the entire development team for putting together a great car!
Just bought one of these. I drove the competition, but just couldn't get over the drive of the Cadillac. Hands down my choice after driving the others. All fine cars, but the CTS just called out to me. Great review. Thanks
Took a chance via driving a friend's XTS and bought a CTS............. In a word............., exceptional. Period. GM - Cadillac have so hit a grand slam on this. They really have. I have never driven - owned a better vehicle and I've had several exceptional cars, in addition to the aircraft I operate. I know quality and GM - Cadillac have SO done a great job. Thank you.
They have had magnetic ride control since they came out. That is part of what makes the cts, a cts. Just restored an 05 interior and was all happy till i saw the 2017 interior. Wow!
My dad bought the 2009 Cadillac, we learned later on that engine in that model year was absolute shit. But surprisingly its lasted to 300,000 miles, which is unreal. I can't even imagine how good the engines are in the new model.
Agreed. The interior could be improved. I'd like to see more buttons and the CUE system more faster to use. Also that gloss black (plastic?) needs to be toned down like be more less reflective? Otherwise the CTS is a great competitor with the German and Japanese rivals.
I know, who at Cadillac thought all that gloss plastic looked good? Some shiny plastic is fine but I still think there's too much going on here. Otherwise, yeah, fantastic car.
What kind of gas dose this car use? I just bought it and been using Premium but gas prices are so high right now I was wondering if I could use Regular??? Thanks
MY Only complaint of the laterthan CTS as an Uber driver 2014 is that Gm put a cover between the rear seat and trunk, which reduces the amount of area between the pass through area.

I purposely left the XTS out because it's the only Cadillac that's not built on a RWD platform. The XTS comes standard with FWD and AWD is optional. The XTS is nice and all, but I don't think it's a very competitive Cadillac anymore now that the CT6 flagship has arrived.
My 2016 cts thinks it's a 1978 pontiac transam... not so much in looks but in horse power and handling...in fact the 4 banger caddy has more hp, top speed about the same, they handle similar..the T/A tuned suspension would definitely hug the curves...and my cts is no exception...in fact the,way it handles is the main selling point for me...i miss my old 78 bandit edition trans am ..but this caddy takes me back...
The only think with the caddy I wish they would do when it comes to their cars on this one imagine how much nicer it would look with the tires with the white wall on it. 😩That’s all I would do and tint the windows and taillights deep black as well as the headlights except for the lights that goes down the side of the edge and the lights on the bumper but the main part of the headlights I’d tint
This car was $67k, can now be had for $23k, give it 2 or three more years, you'll be able to get this car for low teens. Especially a year after the design refresh.
@@kewlztertc5386 I'm finding 2018/2019s for under $25k with low miles. I am 19 and I want one of these to be my first car loan. I will bust my ass to achieve it.
Uff I've been waiting for this exact CTS to go on sale with it's brown leather seats and real wood trim... it looks so sexy! I've only been seeing premium CTSs for sale with all black interiors and carbon fiber trims which just looks plain and boring to me. C'mon! I'm ready to upgrade from my 2nd gen CTS!
Now this is a Cadillac truly worth its salt! In fact, the Cadillacs that appeal to me are the ATS and CTS! The rest of the Cadillac lineup is lackluster...
Cadillac's nomenclature for it's lineup is confusing to me. This is the CTS. There's a CT6, which is larger than this, and yet the CTS-V is smaller than this? Why are some models ending with a numeral, while others end with an alphabetical character, and what the hell does V stand for?
Shell Casing its pretty simple actually. ATS is the small compact luxury sedan. CTS is a midsize luxury sedan. And CT6 is a full size luxury sedan. Their V line is their full performance lineup competing with AMG. There is a CTS V and an ATS V which are the same size as the normal CTS and ATS only with a larger, more powerful engine and other more high performance parts.
Shell Casing Cadillac is in the middle of changing the names of its cars and crossover(s). The CT6 and XT5 are brand new vehicles with the brand new naming nomenclature. CT# (CT stands for Cadillac Touring.. The number identifies where the vehicle sits within the lineup). XT# (XT stands for Crossover Touring.. And again, the number identifies where the vehicle sits within the lineup). A CT2 will be smaller than a CT4, a CT4 will be smaller than a CT6, and so on.. They are choosing to only rename vehicles when they are redesigned. That's why you still see the ATS and CTS still carrying their old names.
Cadillac will be more affordable in terms of maintenance, Benz is ahead in tech and interior design but $$$$ after the 4-5 year mark to keep it in tip top shape.
We have a cts and the lights just cut through the night. Mercedes make me feel like im looking like a old lady or asian. Stigma for mercedes in california. The cla 250 is really nuce though.
I've had Cadillacs in my family plenty of times they all have problems they don't hold up good at all definitely don't get the bang for your buck on a cadi just from what I've experienced and seen.
When you said busy that really did not make any sense what so ever. Then you talk about Benz system which is so menu based even BMW's! You have to go through menu after menu to do basic things even to use voice controls from the Benz. Dude rethink that! Finally Cadillac did not match Audi the Caddy had it first.
RayJ-HT Cadillac has some of the most comprehensive technology in thier cars. CUE has never been a problem for me it's very responsive and you dont have to deal w redundant menus & overtechnological systems just to turn on the AC. They have come a long way, they're my favorite Luxury Automobile. I honestly think alot of the criticisms they face are due to European biases and the fact that Caddy was never supposed to get this good. They're giving the Germans a run for their money. Case and point, the XTS, journalist bad mouth that endlessly however, I know people who own them and think they're awesome. I've never heard a real world owner say anything bad about it. Cadillac is awesome. P.S. (To Mr Unboxing) Cadillac created Magnetic Ride and Ferrari put it on thier cars.
Right on, Ray! And here's another thing about the Caddy interior vis a vis the German competition, the Cadillac is simply more formal. German cars are neutral and devoid of styling so as not to offend anybody. In this day and age when people are wearing polo shirts to work, many people prefer the unadorned interior of German cars so as not to call out how poorly they are dressed. I mean look at the guy in this video with his hoodie sitting in that beautiful Cadillac interior. It just doesn't work! And guess who else dresses like that? The automotive press. But for the well-heeled, natty car buyer, Cadillac is the way to go.
Cadillac has been in the game since early 1900's & are now finally "rearrived" after dozens of hit & misses? "Standard Of The World" now finally means something! But Hyundai, yes Hyundai is giving them some competition! How & why is that? Caddy got too comfortable dare I say, too nonchalant. The STS North Star great engine tech but fwd? Huh? STS-V another strong BMW M5 contender but again very lack luster! Cadillac Sixteen (16 cyl) awesome! but just a concept? Cadillac Cien (12cyl beast) best thing ever from the brand, world class super sports car but no production? Time & money wasted or maybe not because alot of that tech is being displayed now at least! Cadillac is definitely moving forward more aggressively but needs more "Standard" features & tech savvy engineering! Good ole AMERICAN hussle behind the muscle! Hyundai Equus is no joke & very inspiring coming from a 10yr old (compared to the Caddy ) company that is. Who's Your Caddy??
Beautiful car. Interior is nice, but still a half step behind the Germans I think, they keep getting better too. Just a touch too busy and bling by comparison, and the electronic interface trails a bit. Still a great place to be though, and great overall car.
I need those wheels on my 2014 3.6 Luxury. People who don't like the CUE entertainment system just haven't educated themselves enough. Watch the tutorials. It's awesome!
The old 1st gen CTSs and the earlier pre-2012 2nd gen CTSs are the ones you see all over the damn places lol. I rarely see a 3rd Gen CTS and when I do it's usually in a rich neighborhood.

I mean look at the guy in this video with his hoodie sitting in that beautiful Cadillac interior. It just doesn't work! And guess who else dresses like that? The automotive press. But for the well-heeled, natty car buyer, Cadillac is the way to go.
Am i the only one who liked this Cadillac CTS because of that WiFi feature????
Cadillac come to the Australian market *cross fingers* We need a bigger consumer portfolio of luxury cars.
Who's Your Caddy??
so where's the huge ass box?
Beautiful car. Interior is nice, but still a half step behind the Germans I think, they keep getting better too. Just a touch too busy and bling by comparison, and the electronic interface trails a bit. Still a great place to be though, and great overall car.
I think Cadillac will make necessary interior improvements for the CTS's mid-life refresh, say for 2018 or 2019.
I’m considering buying a Cadillac CTS , but Cadillac are expensive.
I need those wheels on my 2014 3.6 Luxury. People who don't like the CUE entertainment system just haven't educated themselves enough. Watch the tutorials. It's awesome!

Hey, if you own one (of the five built), will you let me film it? :-)
335HP? Man, that's a lot these days!
But thats to the crank and its 335 to the wheels you'll get 290-285hp which is not slow
This is a beautiful automobile, and looks like Maybach.
Wouldn't spend that much on a caddi there to common on the street just an average for almost 70k I'd get something that actually turns heads
Too common on the street? Your neighborhood must be rolling in dough.
John McKenzie haha! I know everyone is entitled to there own opinion,I just personally wouldn't spend that much on a Cadillac lol
The old 1st gen CTSs and the earlier pre-2012 2nd gen CTSs are the ones you see all over the damn places lol. I rarely see a 3rd Gen CTS and when I do it's usually in a rich neighborhood.
