Thanks, that was awesome. I wonder I could use that on the black metal door ??? Or eve the stone around the door. Then, I wonder about is there a chemical I can use in the Spring to clean the fire brick.
That is right, creosote will block a lot of radiant heat. Make sure you don't spray any of this cleaner on the paint. For some reason, my previous fireplace paint was not affected by it. My current fireplace (we moved BTW) paint has suffered from that, some paint is peeling!!! I don't know if this is the cleaner and/or the paint! Thanks!
Every other Fireplace door glass cleaning video i've seen says do not use products with any Ammonia. What gives?
I've been using this method for 2 years now without issue.
Because it's very highly flammable an any fumes from the glass even many days later can cause a big problem. Especially in a confined space like a fire box. 💣
So what if you've got the really bad stuff that only comes off with a razor blade
A razor blade may scratch the glass, so attempt at your own risk.
In the future, keep up with cleaning the glass regularly (be sure it’s cool to the touch prior to cleaning). Don’t burn garbage, and don’t burn wet wood.

Lol, that glass is not dirty much, try that on thick blackened 1/16th creosote.
If you keep up with the cleanings, there would be no reason for the buildup to be that thick. In your case, it would take a lot of scrubbing.
@@OldSoulMillennial On my Blaze King set on low so it burns the smoke it can be that way in days.
