Do you have any tips for cleaning the oven racks?
Thanks for this, I've been wanting to do the same. No worries about the warranty, our oven is 2 decades old. The stupid thing is that we should not have to do this at all, as these oven designers & engineers should be developing these machines by not letting grease & other particles make their way in between those 2 door sections. And if they cannot do anything about this, then they should have made it easier for end-consumers to be able to clean the inside glass, including putting instructions in the manual, thus not voiding warranties then.
Except that all designers and engineers are 25 year old male or female's who've never had to clean anything as an end user. The same is true for the engineers of strollers (I need to be able to clean shit AND carry shit not just look good), and fridges. What's with the porous door handles on fridges and no guard over the 'accordion' sealer on the freezer door? You clean it then!
If your oven is 2 decades old you are lucky. The appliances they make today is junk. Might last3 to 5 years if you are lucky. They look pretty but don't last. Too much electronics it goes bad pretty quick. Think about it you are not to put computer next to heat. So why would you put computerized buttons and screens on your oven.
This has been one of my jobs that I thought didn’t have an answer. Thank you so much!
My oven actually has spider webs inside!
I agree!
Well, thank you so much!!!! For some psychic reason this video just popped up and my wife spotted it. So for Mother's day, we took the door apart and cleaned the decades old grease from the inside glass. A miracle and exactly as you demonstrated. I've now earned my afternoon nap and pulled pork sandwiches for dinner! Cheers.
@Carl S. You’re so lucky! A nap & a pulled pork sandwich??!!
8:36 I would clean someone’s oven everyday for that!!!🤣😂🤣🤗
😂 ♥️💥
wow, i clean all the time and never got that but than i'm not married.
I thought it was mothers you did that job together- and then she cooked while you earned a nap?!
😃😄😆😂🤣❤❤❤❤
God I could only ever dream of having a man who cleans. I can’t even imagine. ❤❤
😂😂😂
My husband was in the Navy before we met. He doesn’t just clean, he loves to clean. Yes, it’s a dream come true. 😂
@@AnastaciaBurns I concur with the Navy husband and cleanliness 😊
Yes, the men's only eat, and no clean. They marriage for have the women as slave. The women's don't understand this, and love marriage.
He should; yr not the maid.❤
I always wondered how you cleaned the inside of the oven door, now I know. Thank you!
I think it knows to dig up related videos because the same was happening to me. I was searching how to clean greasy kitchen cabinets a few weeks back.😂
This is great. I was wondering who I would call as I was concerned about dying the door. Alas! I saw your video this morning so all I need to do is buy a T15 tool so I can start. The grease in between the glass has been driving me crazy-this never happened on older appliances that were made extremely well!! Thank you!!
I don't know how I used to live without UA-cam! I always thought you had to take the door completely off and apart so I was never brave enough to do it. So easy now! And you don't have to stay bent over if you sit on a chair and clean it.
wow, I can hardly wait to do this. I've been going crazy trying to clean my oven door -- had no idea you needed to take it apart. Thank you!!
Excellent well done. No BS. Straight to it. Love it!
You don't know how grateful I am to see how you clean the inside glass on the oven door. Particularly how to remove/re-install the panels. Ive always been afraid to unscrew the panels.
My 4 yr old stove is self cleaning but the inside of the oven door is really in need of cleaning. Thus, the whole stove still looks dirty.
I'm going to try it now, your way, without fear of putting everything back in place.
MANY THANKS!!
Same here. Somehow spiders have left webs between my oven glass! No matter how I clean the door, I've been hesitant about cleaning between the glass of the door.
Simple hint with washing inside and outside windows. Do one side with vertical sweeps, and the other side with horizontal sweeps. That way if there is a streak, you easily know which side of the glass the streak is on.
And in a case like this video, with a top and bottom piece of the inside glass of the oven - do either the top or bottom piece with horizontal sweeps, and do the other one with vertical....then you can more easily chase down streaks in the glass, if you close the 2 sections and if you see a streak before you screw it all back together, you know what piece of glass it's on, depending upon if the streak is running horizontal or vertical.
Can you do that with the self clean ‘hose’ on the door?
@@Denise-yj3se I've never encountered a self clean 'hose' on a door before, so I don't know how those work, as far as how they clean.
But if you wipe or squeegee a window off, what I suggested can help you figure what side a streak is on.
I want to know how stuff gets in there
CORRECT.
@@Hbd2002 I think that at the top of the oven door, there is a vent that runs all the way across.
That vent allows heat to escape from between the panes of glass when you bake.
However, if something on your stove top overflows, and manages to run down the front part of your oven and into that vent, it gets in between the glass panels.
I think too, that maybe if you cook something like a turkey, or a pot roast that might have a lot of moisture in it. The steam probably carries some fats with it, and at it hits the top of the door where the vent is at, it cools and some of it turns to water droplets again, and drips back down onto the glass.
That's the only way I can figure out how it happens. :P
I never knew this could be done. Thanks!
I like a man who isn't afraid to be seen CLEANING something (inside the house, lol)!
Perfect, simple. Worked like a dream ....even without a T-15 screwdriver, a Phillips managed easily. Was able to get inside my oven glass seconds after watching this and done in 3 minutes! Thank you for a completely clear, very simple video ....and I only actually had to watch the first 3 minutes of the video. Fast solution. Thanks!!!
Glad it helped
Thank you so much! I appreciated your last oven cleaning method that worked so well for me, but was hesitant to start unscrewing parts (hubby passed away last year so I'm alone) and was frustrated I couldn't get the dust between the glass doors. Mine had the two screws you showed as well as 4 on top of the door. Yay! Now it's finally really clean!
Sorry to hear about your husband :(.
Hi Victorian Studio. So sorry about your husband. I’m happy to know you were able to clean your oven. UA-cam is my go to. It’s hard when you are alone but there are things you can accomplish and feel good about. Take care.
Im so sorry for your loss!
My husband has been ill for some time and im so impressed with all he has quietly taken care of for decades...i tell him "thanks" quite often.
Sorry to hear about your hubby. You are a brave lady. I wld crumble shd something happen to my hubby. Mind you I am a breast cancer suvivor , multiple stokes plus a few TIS;s survivor, I could handle all that. Loss of a lovely spouse is hard. Glad to read you note. Keep well .
So sorry to hear about your husband passing. ❤❤❤ You are such a strong woman to start taking on these little home maintenance jobs. Congratulations! It's a huge accomplishment. I'm a single 60 y.o woman..... this year I was able to fix my car's brake light problem by investigating YT videos. If what I tried didn't work... I would have definitely taken it to the car shop. But it feels good to fix it myself. (I did check the problem with the mechanic when I had my next car service a few weeks later.)
I saw the thumbnail for this video and gasped, "How did he open that?!"
There has been dog hair and grease on the inside of our oven door from the previous owners and it has been driving me crazy! Thank you, sir! 😊
Replying to @thereses Maybe the previous owners used to make hotdogs in the oven hence the dog hairs in the door🤣🤣
I love the Video
So much better than taking the door off. I'm 71 years old. A little over 110 pounds. You helped me so much. Thank you!
I find lately I just have to think about things and it shows up in my recommended. Initially this really creeped me out, but now I use it to my advantage. I've been wondering about this very topic, never mentioned it, just thought about. Almost as if AI can read my mind 😢.
Excellent video!!! So happy I stumbled upon this!! A few month's ago I was talking to my 83 y.o. Dad about this, and he said it was much too hard... having to take the whole door off. I'm sending him the link to your video right away!!! 😂 And tomorrow I'm going to clean the "inside windows" of my oven door!!! Thank you!!👍
OMG! Where have you been all of my life? THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! I was able to clean my oven glass as you demonstrated. Super easy. I wish I would have known years ago! Now my oven door glass looks like brand new.
I used windex because it also cuts grease plus a magic eraser. Worked great.
Amazing! Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I've had a streak inside my oven door that's been bugging me for years. Problem solved. Thanks again.
You do a very good job of showing and explaining how to clean things that we have no idea how to tackle. Keep up the good work. And thank you so much!
Very nice! I had no idea this could be done without calling the repairman. Thank you!
I just love the classic music on the background!!!
Just discovered your channel! You are a gem! Thank you!! Now I'll find the one on how to clean the oven and I'll be in business!!! Thank you again!!!
Thank you so much for this video. I have been living with an annoying streak in my oven for a couple of years and didn’t realize it was within my power to clean it!!!! I can totally manage this!!!❤
LOL
Where has this video been for all of my life?
Thank you
You have answered my oven prayers.
I just tuned in on your video.🤗🤗🤗
Now I'm going to be adventurous in my kitchen and clean my darn window oven.
I really do appreciate u.🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much!!! This has bugged me for 5 years! It worked just like you said. Forever grateful!!!!
Thank you for this video! The last time I attempted to do this with my oven door, I took the door off and laid it on my kitchen table. I then proceeded to take it apart - more “apart” than I needed to - and ended up not knowing how to get it back together again! My husband and I managed to put t back together again, and I will do it YOUR way from now on.
Thank you QueenoftheNorth...i laughed out loud reading your comment...a joy!
Isn’t it crazy that there are 221,700 views for how to clean between the glass. Listen up manufacturers! Fix this damn problem🤨
That was my hesitation..it's always easier taking something apart than getting it back together
@@lynnesews9725 more than a million now. And counting...
Thank you Thank you! This has been driving me crazy and I was afraid to try it. You made it so easy.
Great video, showed me what to do in a clear and accurate manner. Reminded me of “When all else fails…consult the manual”. This was a great video manual. Thank you!
Thank you for the demonstration and video. Very helpful!🌟🌟🌟💫
I’ve wondered about this but thought cleaning between the glass was impossible. Wow! Thank you so much for your video.
My husband and I are the third owner’s of our home, built in 1942. It has been modestly updated a couple of times over the years - I’ll never have a “new” kitchen in this lifetime- I’ve accepted this reality.
Our kitchen has a through the wall Dualtone Fan. I need advice how to clean it. The inside side looks good - if you l are into Retro staff-I’ve cleaned the near parts pretty well. I’m not sure I have a ladder that tall.
How to I clean the back of the fan blades and inside the casing where I can’t reach?
I suppose I could turn off the power, climb on a ladder, open the hatch outside the house, and clean from there. I’ll need to get my husband to steady the ladder while I do this. Lol! Ty!❤
No! No! No! Pull the fuse or circuit breaker first! Don’t use a metal ladder! Notify 911 services before you start, they may be too busy later because someone else tried to clean her/his oven door. With the emergency responders, emergency room charges, doctor’s bills, pharmacy costs, etc you’ll be out of thousands of dollars as a result. Boil som apple, or citrus peelings to give the house a nice fresh scent.
Excellent guidance. Just followed your directions on my oven and it worked very well! Thank you.
Great information! I wanted to do this for the last 20 years! Thank you!!!!!
Excellent!! Thank you! I can do that myself, now I'm going to do it.
The inside of the door is extremely sharp. Also you can not raise the glass too much... just enough to get your hand in... or else you will bend the bottom and the porcelain will spray off as you crack it and bend the door.
I have done many while working at a resort.
Glad I stopped by. Been wanting to do this for a long while. I was hesitant because I wasn't sure how to take the door apart to get to the inside glass area. Now that I seen it I know I can do it. Thank you so much. put that chore back on my to do list.
Very welcome!!
Thanks. For 30 years I lived with a Riem wedge wood stove from about 1960. I moved and found myself with a modern contraption! I had NEVER any need to ckean between the glass. There was no glass. Imagine my surprise when I used my stove for the first time and that beautiful window in my new stove was barred with discoloration! I’ve been intimated ever since and it’s now 10 years on. You made it look easy! Thank you! Great video!!
Love watching your video Thank you.
I have a Whirlpool that has 3 panes to it and was able to take it all apart several years ago to clean it. I just did it again 6 months ago after my wife spilled something down the front and got inside once again. Best advice Is removing the door from the range and take pictures along the way on disassembly because you can put some parts on backwards and the door will not close when done.
I’m so glad to know this can be cleaned. Thank you!
Thank-you so much. Wasn't even looking for an answer for this problem, and up you popped on UA-cam, am I glad! Didn't even know that I could clean this, and boy does my oven need it! Got Turkey grease from thanksgiving and it's been driving me crazy ever since, even been hiding it with a towel over the handle of the oven. Can't wait to see my oven clean again!!! THANK-YOU!!!!
That's excellent. I've had had streak marks on the inside between the panes of glass for the longest time from the previous owner . Now I can finally clean it out properly. Great video. Thanks for posting this. 😁✌
This video is so helpful and enjoyable with classical music in the background.
It's Bach's Brandenburg Concerto #4. I'm not sure I'm crazy about putting that wonderful music as a background to over cleaning! But it is a great piece.
Awesome!!! I’ve been trying to figure out how to clean de INSIDE glass on my oven for a looong time!!! You made my day!!! Thank you.
Thanks; very helpful!
Thank you! For showing how this can be done! So annoying to see the inside in between can’t get to dirty glass, either ovens, double windows, etc. now I will go check my oven!!
Awesome. Didn’t even know this was a thing.
This was great! Thank you!
Worked great-thank you!
Thank you! I live in an apartment and my stove was provided at the time of the lease!
I have drip in between the glass that have has been there for a few years. I never wanted to unscrew the door panels from fear of not being able to put it back together, and ruining the owner's warranty!
It has been driving me crazy because I couldn't clean between the glass. Now I can, thanks so much. God bless
This was such an eyeopener for me. I never knew you could detach the inner screen. As soon as I finished watching your tutorial I applied this to my own oven. It's like new again THX!
thank you! Very helpful.
Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Thanks for this informative video. I didn’t know how to remove my oven door glass so after a chicken fat accident I spent at least an hour with a long rod with a wet j-cloth wrapped around the bottom poking around through the gap at the top. I sprayed cleaning fluid through the gap and poked some more until it finally looked clean. It worked pretty much, but next time I need to clean the glass I’ll know better what to do!
very good instructions, thanks!
No one would believe the filth between the glass in my oven door. I am surround by farmland, so there’s a ton of dust in the air. I can’t stop looking at my clean oven door. Thank you so much.🎉🎉🎉
So happy you posted this! I had a thin layer of dust after a renovation in between the glass of my white new stove, and it was driving me INSANE! I didn’t buy the stove so had no manual to figure out how to take it apart. Thank you! It looks so much better now, and I even got that pesky little grease stripe too! 🤣
The grease stripe !!!!
Thanks 😊
Thanks a ton pal! So grateful for this video!
Thanks so much! Great, easy demonstration!!
Great clip !! Thank you so much !!
I will certainly clean my oven the way you did. Thank you.
Just watching this from uk , and that is a very big oven ! And very lovely and clean 😊
It’s a standard size in the US.
Thank you so much great show bud !
Thank you for the tips on how to clean the oven glass door. I will try this this week
Be aware that when you get all done and you put the whole thing back together and you look at it there are going to be some streaks in there that you didn't see
yeah glass
Brilliant! Thank you so much ❤ My oven door glass has been driving me nuts and I've been so hesitant before watching this video.
Same here!!😊
Please help my oven door hole spring is out cannot get back in
I'm anxious to give this a try. Thanks so much for posting!
Thank you!!! 👍 I spilled soup 'between' the front and back glass in my oven door, and couldn't figure out how to clean it.
Experience has taught me to never again buy an oven with air vents that capture dust and grime so don't mind not having to clean like this 😊 Peace
Instead of a box could you pull out the bottom oven drawer to hold up the glass door?
maybe not. My drawer is fragile on plastic sliders. If those break from weight of door you are screwed. Getting replacements and installing sliders down there would be troublesome I think.
No
I didn't know this was possible. Thank you!
Great info thank you
UA-cam recommended this. They know
Thanks for sharing!
Worked! Thanks! 😊😊😊
Regarding voiding the warranty, I'm curious how they would know you cleaned the inside of the glass. Hmmm...
They are all a bit different, so take your time and figure it out before you get there. Whatever you do -- don't damage the front glass! If it's an older oven, you may not be able to get a good replacement for love or money. Anyway, very pleased how it turned out here -- the grease runs have been buggin' me since I bought the place.
Thank you! Doing this👍🏼
Omg thanks for this video. I’ve always wanted to clean inside my oven door.❤❤❤
Holy crow . I had no idea this was possible . Thank you .
Oh Man!! Thank You for showing this. I work VERY HARD to keep my stove/oven clean and WITH NO STREAKS, I HATE STREAKS! But it’s been driving me nuts those little drips of…grease or whatever. I was going to try and take the door apart. But was hesitant. I’m not anymore. Thanks so much!
And just in case someone doesn’t know, or you have been having an issue with streaks, try this. First, I have used all kinds of oven cleaning polishing sprays, microfiber towels, and it STILL was leaving the most horrible streaks. Which for me….If my oven top, counters etc. aren’t shining like a new toy, I don’t feel like my kitchen looks clean enough. So I have tried it ALL. Even creating my own customized cleaner. But although some “were” better than others, nothing really did the job. Then I tried (of all things), Pledge Multi-surface” cleaner. And viola! No more streaks or the appearance of a greasy stove top. The same for the doors of the oven, dishwasher, and the fridge! “Pledge Multisurface”. I mean who knew! 😂 And now, thanks to your help, I can finally get the dripped grease out from behind the 2 pane panel of the oven door. Brilliant! Thank you so much!!
I will try Pledge Multisurface!!
Thank you for sharing this video. Been wanting to do this.
Yay, I needed this, thanks!
I have seen warnings about doing this. They claim that the oven glass could explode if a non-professional attempts to take the door apart. Is this no longer the case with newer oven doors, or are there specific caveats to doing this?
My oven door exploded and glass flew everywhere. I had to buy a new stove. My oven was older, so I don't know if the newer ones are different. Be aware
@@lindamiller3539 mine did too, was In another room at the time & it sounded like a bomb going off.
Yes glass everywhere.!
Haven't managed to replace the glass yet, a nightmare money wise because the oven is integrated with a top oven & microwave.. just cant afford to do it.
Just a thought though! This was quite easy on your oven door, because all you had to do was remove 2 screws and lift the loosened part up. It's not quite the same, on our oven, as there are 4 screws to remove and then lift up the entire panel off the door, thus disturbing the gaskets that are in there and worrying that all of this will not fit very well, upon reassembly!
The very reason I would not do this on my own, for fear of not putting it back together properly🤔
I really have to try this, thank you!
I had no idea. Thanks!
I am forever grateful to you! I had no idea I could even get in between like that. Thank you thank you thank you!
I didn't either!
The best way to clean inside glass of oven is a really fine emery cloth in water and rub softly, it doesnt scratch the glass and all the brown stains come off like a dream no chemicals needed.
Very helpful. I never realized it was possible to clean between the two glasses on an oven door.
That was so helpful! Thanks!
The doors actually come off very easily and that helps with cleaning.
On the hinges you will see a sort of hinged metal loop that goes over the top. I can just see it on yours as most folding electric oven doors are the same. When the door is laying fully down like in yours, just flip those. they should come towards you. You might need to get something under them to get them moving as they are usually a bit sticky.
When they are flipped, just raise the door to about 45°. it will no longer hinge and as you raise it the catch goes down and under the bar and the whole thing will then easily lift out.
Put it back the same way, that is offer it up at about 45°, slide it in and lay it down then put the hinged loop back in place.
It's really easy although it probably sounds complicated
It's the best way to get all the gunk cleaned out of that trough where the door meets the oven and it means you can lay the door down somewhere safely to clean it.
Thank you so much!
I noticed the other day something got between the glass and dripped down. It looks like white sauce for the pasta my sister made. Really noticeable. Thank you for your video. I switched to Dawn in the 90s. I swear by it. I was living in Ky. At the time and if you evet went on 75 towards Cincinnati you know of the long vertical hill. A truck turned over spilling greasy dough on the interstate. Nothing they did for hours cleaned it. Traffic had to be rerouted. Someone brought in a truck full of Dawn and within a few hours the road was safe and opened. That's when i switched to Dawn.
Thanks a million,I knew you could clean ,but never checked it out. I can do this and I have the right tool .,love it!!!
THANK YOU !!
