I remember I introduced this movie to my mom around 2002 or 2003.. she was the one who got me into horror and Sci-Fi movies back in the early 1980s when I was a little kid and she never heard of this one.. and we looked at it together..I miss those days..RIP mom
best movies people was different then real Americans they was
@Jeffrey Bone it wasn't about the movie crappy or good but it's about time spent together I guess you missed that point you dumb bitch
I don't know why, but any B & W film made in 1960 is an irresistible lure.
Made in the "60s and before. Yup, the B/W films are more alluring especially in a darkened room with a good chair.
I agree those great black and white films from that era are fantastic.
Oh yeah, the perfect feast for october
Truth
Great little film. She was actually his companion piece and he thought he could marry upscale.... yet she loved him. irresistible lure, indeed.
This movie was like an extra long Twilight Zone episode, which is not a bad thing.
An even more "Zoney" movie is _Carnival of Souls (1962)._ Check it out!
Yep. 👍
The little girl was in an episode of Twilight Zone
That it was !
This was one real thriller! It's been a long time since I've been so invested in a movie, but this one kept me on edge right up until the end. The effects were basic, but since they were used so sparingly they don't take you out of the movie, which I appreciate. Wish movies today would take a hint and use special effects less. I had a good time watching this one, and if you're reading this before watching: go for it, it's great. It starts off a bit slow, but once it gets going, it really _goes._
sounds good.
For me you are preaching to the choir.
Does anyone else ever think Damn there are SO many movies?!?!!
If we got rid of the bad movies there wouldn't be many left.
It's like they've been making them for over 100 years
Yes!! I love it lol.
@Im wearing tights that I borrowed from your mum. 625 Days
Yep all the time lol
Good one. I wish some other guys had this kind of guilt for all the women they mistreated over the years. But most of them seem to get away with it, and feel great to be in office. So what's to be done. Vi was a good haunter ghost and this man had a conscious, so it's comparing apples and oranges. I like the way this man had so many people that loved him, yet he was trapped by his first bad decision. Scary movie. Hard choices, and it kept coming. Tormented is a good title. A sixties tale of wisdom like a Greek Tragedy. Thank You!
Wow what a great movie thoroughly enjoyed that you really can't beat these vintage 1950/60s noir movies far better than the modern movies with all their ridiculous totally over the top special effects... Keep them a coming!!! 👍👌
You make a good point.
Thanks for the post. The ring on Vi's finger is the real horror in the ending... Till death do us part... Even in death she STILL couldn't keep her hands off him.
The title alone, all the more its script style had me instantly. Just my style. Vi had that fever, that itch which only Tom could cure, scratch. It was always and forever meant to be. YOW! I give this 4 boxes of BUTTERED popcorn.
Enjoyed this very much on this rainy dreary night...has a twilight zone/Alfred Hitchcock tone to it.. thanks for posting...I've been appreciating alot of these old classics more than mainstream films,lately....more originality, solid storylines, impeccable actors and is suitable for certain days or nights, when in the mood to view them.. thanks for the post.🎥🎥📽️📽️🎬
Had the feeling she was kind of a femme fatale and she knew he couldn't exactly shake his neer-do-well past ...
Yeah definitely Alfred Hitchcock Presents vibe
Makes sense, since it was made when both those shows aired on TV. I loved this movie too--spooky, kinky, I actually liked the end but I won't spoil it.

Of that perfume on the table
So I can remember
What made a mess of me!"
_The Cramps, 'All Women are Bad!'_
C'est un parfum que j'ai déjà porté, il sent très bon 💅💋
Such a kitschy film. I love the talking head on the end table. Too much. I guess the cast and director were friends and said "Hey, let's make a movie over the weekend!".
You should check out the MST3K version!
Vintage saved little Sandy's life. I loved this movie
"Why should my conscience bother me? I didn't kill her..." you didn't try to save her, either. Conscience and guilt can do powerful things. If I had a railing that flimsy I'd sue the builder.
Isn't what he did voluntary manslaughter?
Never threaten your lover when your back is against the railing and he wants another woman. I enjoyed this ghost story. 👻
I love these gothic revenge horror movies….where can I find some more?
I want to thank CCC for pumping out the movies during this hard 'Stay at home' time we're having as Americans. I love the way this country is pulling together to do what they can to get through this !!!
Keep strong Americans.. u will survive this and come out stronger than ever..u have a great Presidents that's supporting u and helping u 1000 percent...be proud.. the world has ur backs....MAGA AND KAG. Good Bless America♥️👌👊

Susan Gordon was a terrific actress. In fact, the whole cast was terrific. 🎶👣🥀🕴️🙍🐕👰.
She was the director's daughter.
Susan Gordon- befriended her co- star of "The Boy and the Pirates" Charles Herbert, who supported his family from the age of five and went from being one of the most-desired and highest-paid child actors of his time to one of the multitude of performers Hollywood "discarded" upon reaching maturity. She was a class act, recognizing the burden a fellow child actor had to carry and the scars of the result.
Rip Susan Gordon❤
I watched this a few years ago and was impressed. Worthy of cult fandom. You see the new jazz-beatniky style arising during this period [late 1950s early 1960s] and I thought the ending was touching and fitting. Good movie.
Too bad they dont make movies like this anymore ❣
And noir detective movies :*(
And musical movies :*(
And operas :(
The best actor was the little girl, her emotions and facial expressions were excellent. Great ending also, Vi get him at the end...
Never shoulda left that bad ass chick!!!
Susan Gordon, producer directors kid! Rip Susan Gordon!
@@robynheavner4689 : Hello ! D'ya mean or talk 'bout Susan Gordon from Roman Polanski's movie : "Rosemary's baby" or from movie : "Harold and Maud" ?
This lil' girl in the movie iz much mo' beautiful an' attrative than a woman or a girl. Tell her I'm free tae marry her.
@@robynheavner4689 : Excuse-moi, je me suis trompé. J’ai confondu avec Ruth Gordon.
yes she was vying for him. He' s pretty good catch too.
It is about time they fixed the railing at the lighthouse.
That was the freshest week-old-corpse-from-the-ocean-after-falling-off-cliff I’ve ever seen!
Enjoyed the flick. Thanks!
Nails still done and everything!
Yeah, and a breathing corpse at that!
In those days, they wouldn’t even have toilets on set! 🚽🚽 The first toilet shown in a movie was in Alfred Hitchcock’s horror movie called PHSYCHO ! 🚽🧻
Gee....You must have seen many week-old-corpses from the ocean after falling off a cliff!...lol.....Just teasin!...
Interesting change for Mr. B.I.G to step out of his traditional realm of “photo-enlarged pest” but l miss Albert Glasser’s
Thundering score that not only superimposes a terrific build up but sometimes makes you feel as though a room was
just torn apart. Thanks for posting.
Great movie. I saw when I was a kid and it scared the living daylights out of me. By now it doesn't but is still a pleasure to watch it.
Love the scary jazzy title-theme music.
I sure hope once we die we can plug ourselves into the internet somehow and watch all the movies we missed.
One of my favourite movies, watched it many times. Big fan of Richard Carlson.
Loved the bongos in the soundtrack. It was pure late 50's jazz.
Bongos rule.
B&W is so oldschool and the acting is so good SERIOUS NO JOKE ALWAYS LOVED THEM
Interesting movie. I love jazz and I know the main character is a jazz piano player but the music doesn't match with a horror film.
This could have been a plot for Suspense or some other OTR. Thanks, good upload.
Vi will never be the "head" of a major corporation.
The movies today use to much computer animated effects. Looks good in a new release, but after so many years they look like cartoons.
Exactly,
More like computer games.
A good black and white movie. Can watch those all day long
You gotta admit, Juli Reding is the best things about this movie. Too bad she didn't spend more time on screen.
She was gorgeous, curvy, and glamorous. Yes, she was the best part of the film.
Absolutely !!! One of the hottest blondes of the 60s!!!
@@SuperOmnicronsj44 noticed the guns on her, very toned arms
This is actually one of Bert I Gordons more mature movies, an adult ghost story
and one of his very best.

The little girl is/was his daughter
@@billman6364 Wow I never knew that.

I sincerely hope that if I am ever tortured by a revengeful spectre, the haunting will be accompanied by jazzy funky music. That way I can bop my head and snap my fingers to that funky rhythm while I 'm trying to find the nearest exit.
...well ok. Maybe I won't be in TOO much of a hurry!
a very good, very 60's movie. very atmospheric to the time period
Susan Gordon was the daughter of the producer Bert I. Gordon who made some great B horror films.
Brilliant movie great casts Sandy such a great child actress thank you❤😘
Yeah, but in the movie, Sandy needed a baby sitter!
R.I.P. Juli Redding (1935-2021), you will always be the main character being portrayed in “Tormented!”.
What a gem of a classic horror flick!.....Loved it!..
Well now, Vi is certainly a well - built lady! 👍😳
She could certainly climb to the top of my lighthouse. 🔝😀
She is still around
If you had one....oh you don't remember me...sweety...arrrgh
How the hell did he veto that hot piece of tail!!????
@@SuperOmnicronsj44 Agreed. And that murderous nosy child reminiscent of “The Bad Seed” instigated the climatic denouement. Superb script. Vi was more alluring with her body attached, so your point is well taken.
@@chauncymax i think it was a situation where she stated "you are mine" Her thoughts ... We're too much alike for you to marry out of what you really are. I wont let you escape me even in death. That headless scene was perfect. Worth a rewatch.
All jokes aside, I recommend. Nice and easy viewing.
Very calming Movie and the black and white easy on the eyes❤
This is what happens when you write a a movie in a half hour and film it on the spot with your friends and 3 bottles of Jack Daniels.
Naked Tongues still....much better than today's movies
Maybe they should have smoked sinsemilla instead😁
Maria Ortiz you is right there but it's still like choosing arsenic or....
Jumping off a cliff.
Naked Tongues 😂 Oh great - can’t wait to watch it after reading this comment! Cheers
3:40....Dam i don't understand why she didn't become a star.....Then i saw this...4:25...."Dam she can't act"....LOL
How did Vi drown with those personally attached safety floating devices?
Vi was "stacked" as you used to say back in the day. 🤣🤣
Damn that Jazz opening theme! Wow!
Very good B-movie with a nice creepy vibe. Try to watch it late at night during a storm.
A really enjoyable film. B & W added to the atmosphere.
Thanks for posting! I had only ever seen the MST3K version.
One of my Band W favorites! Susan Gordon was so great! Picture Mommy Dead was good also, she plays tormented teenager in that movie! Rip Susan Gordon❤
Tom Servo sings: "Gonna kill me a girlfriend. Gonna watch her turn to seaweed."

Boy that dive off the rocks was incredible
dive off the rocks was incredible
Sure was. It looked the water was about 3 feet deep, with jagged rocks all around.
I'm watching this movie on October 8th 2021 and just found out the actress that played Vi (Juli Reding) recently died. She was 85 years old. R.I.P. Juli Reding!
Thanks so much for sharing this great film😍
I can't believe that joker was thinking about hurting that little girl! Dude, just turn yourself in already. How many more people gotta die?

A very exciting film, thanks for sharing I enjoyed watching Tormented.
Great movie!!
“Tom Stewart killed me! Tom Stewart killed me!”
Actually a pretty good movie! Its kind of like watching a long episode of the original "Twilight Zone" series.
Excellent movie !
Actually pretty well done. The effect where the chill wind wilted the flowers was nifty.
That effect was done by Herman Townsley, who did all the “live” on-set effects / practical effects for the film. Bert I. Gordon and his wife did the cheesy optical effects themselves (the double exposure/split screen type of effects that he was (in)famous for). Fortunately, this storyline seemed to be more suited to Mr. B.I.G.s skill set.
Really Good Movie...
When you don't recognise a single name from the cast and crew you know it's going to be fun.
Without a doubt!
I recognized one face and when I checked the credits, yep, it was Joe Turkel playing the boat guy looking for five bucks. He played Mr. Tyrell in Blade Runner and Loyd the bartender in The Shining.
Geowyn Leda You didn’t recognize Richard Carlson? He was the star of many of the greatest SF movies of the 50s, such as It Came from Outer Space.
@@pentizel I must confess I did not know his name.
No, you don't.

Wish they’d gotten the perspective right when matting in the lighthouse.
I think the black and white makes you think more you dream in black and white
All he had to do was tell the truth. Tell his fiancé that some crazy ass chick he used to date came back trying to get him, she fell off the lighthouse per her own mistake and that he paid the boat guy.
Good grief.
It was sort of like him trying to correct the mistakes of his life, knowing that he couldn't out run his fate. The power of obsessive love. Did he imagine her out of his own guilt?
Wow, really the incredible movie, it's very thril one
Great movie! I have to admit I was on the edge of my seat. I was shocked that he was going to kill the little girl. He got what he deserved!
I think he would have changed his mind. You could see he cared about her. Is it nuts to speculate on a fictional character!? Lol
@Sharon They had to do that because until that point the audience I suspect were on his side so suddenly at the end you were not on his side. I thought it was nicely done.
In the end, Vi was too head strong and fell for the wrong guy.
No, she was fated to him...got him in the end.
Very good triller.
During the first part I just about cut it off the because the manifestations were so hokey! But somehow it becomes interesting as it goes along. The child did a very good job with her part. Amazing at that age to do so well. I wouldn't add it to my list of favorites, but it kept me entertained. Wasn't that the purpose?
