Ccc films ever see the public domain classic robot monster 😊
This actually did scare me to death. Now how do I go about getting my free funeral?
Love this classic. Opening the door in see-through nightgown, running around in high heels, the neighborly priest…. So so good.😀
and don't forget the mobile, vocal skull
Reverend not priest. Note he's married
I'm 57 & I remember turning off the lights & I'd snuggle up & watch this.
I absolutely adore these old movies 🤗
Something of a rite of passage for me. In 1958 I was four years old, and my parents would take me to the drive-in movies which I usually enjoyed. When this movie came out, there was an ad in the local paper that showed the Skull, and it scared the sh** out of me. I was also scared by the wicked witch of Oz, but was told that she wasn't real; that made me feel better. So I asked my dad, are skulls real? Yes they are real, and you have one inside your head! That weirded me out for quite a while. When we finally got to the drive in, I mostly hid in the back seat; didn't want to look at the skull.
A few years later, the movie came on late night TV. I had to sneak out of bed to watch it. Barely managed to stay awake through most of it. Was still a little scary, but mostly I got over my skull frights..
Seems your father saw to it that in such matters as these you were well skulled.
This is certainly the best quality print of The Screaming Skull I've ever seen, thanks!
Pretty character actress Peggy Webber is still with us (97 years old) , actor John Hudson who plays Eric here in this flick ("The Screaming Skull") was related to character actor William Hudson, (who starred in "Attack of the 50 foot woman" ) were twin brothers 👍👍
Thanks. I enjoy learning about the backgrounds of actors.
@@taylormaddux8433 we're much alike my friend 👍😊
Similar plot to "Gaslight", with an evil husband slowly driving his wife crazy in order to get his hands on a fortune.
I watched this with my Grandmother when I was about 7 and loved it
Saw this when I was a kid in the early '70's on "Fear Theatre" when I was a kid and it scared the hell out of me.
Ahhhh yes those were the days! Waiting all week that seemed like a month for Friday to roll around. Then wake up crack of dawn for Looney Tunes and the rest. Johnny Quest, The banana splits, Rocky &Bullwinkle, The Pussy Cats, oh an Scooby Doooooo! LoL
I saw it on "Shock Theater".
@@arrrgonot7801 i used to have two tv sets going at the same time so i could watch two cartoons on two different stations at the same time

WOW !! And I've been thinkin' that I had been a tv addict when I was a kid !!
This channel is a real goldmine thank you so much !
This movie came out in ‘58, making me 10 or 11 at the time. I always wanted to see it but somehow that never happened. Now, a few days before turning 73, I got my chance. Somehow, over a little more than 60 years, my taste in cinema must have changed. I will say that a 5 to 7 year old seeing this in a theater might have been forever changed. The 10 to 12 year old crowd would have eaten it up. Not exactly on my bucket list, I do feel this is a goal that has been met. Now on to better things, like The Bride of Frankenstein.
Peggy Webber was really quite well proportioned and sexy.
She was in several original Dragnet episodes.
She made some contorted horror faces and terrific screams in this classic.
I remember this, saw it decades ago on TV when you used rabbit ears for reception. All I can say is at least they might of had fun making it. Thanks for sharing!
Mickey is very Torgoesque. Beautiful print CCC - thanks!
I watched this with my mom! I love these older classics!
Love this classic - thank you UA-cam!!
thanks for uploading such a good print of this!
That was a good one. Like the gull-wing wheels too!
Nobody walks away from that car with the wings up though.
I love this cult movies... I grew up in deep deep South Texas with a show called Boo... it scared me then.....
Wow. Cult, I don't know where you get these prints from, but watching YOUR offerings of several movies recently I feel like I'm seeing them for the first time. I've seen this and Phantom Planet 100 times but the quality was a bit fuzzy around the edges on other UA-cam sites. The scene where Marion shows up near the end is really creepy and even more disturbing if you're watching this late at night (or under the influence of something!)
Ditto here. I'm watching on a 65 inch led and it looks fabulous. Crisp outlines, no lags.
This version also doesn't have that jump-cut at 18:47 - 19:19 that MST3k joked "Oh, the film broke, and it was horrible!" at.
I did not like her husband not trusted him from the beginning. He crushed his first wife s skull and tried to kill the second one for her money too. But Aha! she haunted him as a revenge till he died. Good movie , Thanks for the upload , keep it up!
Even though it’s an old movie, it’s very beautiful.
The storry is very nice.
A follower from Jordan.
The opening scene and music are absolutely terrifying . In fact it's so terrifying, that I shot coffee through my nose while laughing in horror . Special gest Star David Spade as "Micky."😄
@laura Silveria The Shinning ? O.k., I'll take your word on it . Hope you weren't to terrified .
@laura Silveria I've seen The Shinning twice . It's a good movie . However i don't remember the musical score from it .thanks for liking me comment, have a great day 🙂
Masterpiece of B cult cinema
I was waiting for the scene that was gonna kill me and get me that free burial. LOL . A classic B horror movie.
DJR All the men who appeared on this movie died afterwards......
@@gerardosalazar161 what about the women?
This is an enjoyable visit to cinema of the late fifties. We are treated with a high quality wide screen picture, wow. Some say the story is bad but hey, I just went along for the visit. Great Job C.C.C.!
You guys should know that when this film, William Castle rigged the theaters with floating ghosts, put skulls under seats and all that. He offered life insurance for the film goers as they went into the theaters. When he made The Tingler with Vincent Price, he rigged the seats to vibrate like they were getting electrical shocks. He was the gimmick master of his movies.
@@FrankiesFancy When going to the movies was actually fun!!
@@FrankiesFancy he was a genius Frankie , but I believe that this flick was a product of AIP not associated with William Castle , but he did do alot of pre show gimmicks in theaters like you mentioned , like with the death insurance, floating skeletons, 3D glasses & so on ... he was one of a kind 🌟🤩
There are lots of great films from the past I never saw, thanks for sharing.
I bet this was a William Castle movie. The gimmick of signing a waver is hilarious 😅.
that has the coolest beginning😊
loved it as a kid it scared me into nightmares i still love it. thank you cult cinema classics
What you can scare a kid without traumatizing him? 😲 Whodathunkit.
One of my childhood horror favorites from back in the 70s on Creature Feature. Still a big horror fan of the classics to this day. Another favorite is. The Terror with Jack Nickolson
Creature Feature was the high light movie time back then, along with Elvira
"The Terror" with Boris Karloff ... oh yeah, definitely 👍
if John Hudson looks familiar, he should. He is the twin of William Huson of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman and The Amazing Colossal Man fame.
Yeeeessss my friend , you're on the ball and beat me to comment on it by a year , which to me means that "You Rock"! 😃👍
I watched this when we'd sneak out & watch Creature Features., 60 YEARS AGO. This one made me piss My pajamas- recurring nightmares of the skull climax! Really. 6o years later still top ten in my horror/suspense rankings. Criminally overlooked. Thanks for sharing!
This movie still has some shock value to it... I would think 1958 was one of the first times moviegoers saw a woman (partially) undress... Peggy Webber had one scorching hot body!
A classic. Thank you.
Blessings
These classic movies are a great treat of nostalgia.
YOU ARE THE EVER LOVING *_BEST_* CHANNEL IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS!! This has been my FAVORITE movie ALL of my life!! I am only 1 year younger than this film and I watched it as a kid with my mom and have searched for it for YEARS. About 20 years ago, I found a place that sold obscure old horror movies and got this on dvd but it wore out over time. THANK YOU *_SO MUCH_* FOR POSTING THIS ONE!!! Now I'm going to cross my fingers and hope you find "The Horror of Party Beach" too!!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!
Micky totally looks like he could play in a 90s Grunge band. Who'd a thunk that, of all people in this film, Micky would be fashionably ahead of his times!
Thought that not think you oik.
@@keithharvey6354 Were you trying to correct me with that sentence?
Nowadays, his looks don't even raise a brow. Back then, he was assumed to look very unkept, i suppose? Beards weren't in fashion nor long hair was
Micky played by Character actor Alex Nicol also directed this flick 👌🏻
Very nice film classic
Tnks CCC
High quality, very entertaining. Bravo!
Excellent movie! Thank you!👍❤️
Beautiful visual resolution. Thanks ! This was my Holy Grail of horror films when I was a kid. I first saw it on the tube one Sunday afternoon in 1970. I immediately picked up on its many similarities with Dark Shadows. In fact, even at the time, it wasn't so much that it was the scariest movie I'd ever seen, but it was definitely the most intruiging. Thanks again for posting !
The pretty actress that played The wife reminded me of a young Beverly Garland who used to be in a lot of b movies shades of gaslight in the plot love the atmosphere of this movie old movies of The 50 s really knew how to build suspense and horror without all the gore and profanity that's used so much in movies movies today
That portrait of his Dead wife reminds me of a paint by number
Nice to see hints of a good figure just enough without all the blatant nudity
I saw this on tv back in the mid 60s when I was 8 years old and it gave me nightmares especially about the painting. Thanks for the memory.
Wow,that Benz is worth a fortune today.
I'm glad I found one with the missing scenes I didn't think the scenes would be found cause cinemassacre said there's jump cuts
Another Great Print in widescreen. Much appreciated.
Things are so ridiculous nowadays this seems normal. The girls face is priceless and the beginning sounds like something from a William castle film
Bon Film 👌👍merci beaucoup pour ce film avec d'excellents acteurs et actrices
That was really good. Enjoyed that. Thank you.
saw this at the drive in when i was a kid - that scene where the skeleton ghost jumping up and chasing the girl scared the shit out of me
9:00 Kinda skeptical that anyone so odd would be kept as an employee. I think I've seen him in a tent next to the I-5 in LA.
I have a hunch mickey was growing a few things on that property........... If you know what I mean. (Wink , Wink )
Michael !? ... lol 😆👍
Try Screaming Skull IPA: Crisp with a hint of formaldehyde, and leaves you with a terrible aftertaste.
Thumbs up great movie. I really like your thumbnail graphics. .
¡Excelente! Gracias por compartirla
I gave thumbs up due to the Mercedes gullwing
Watching the gullwing open up, was the BEST part of the movie, and renting it probably was the most expensive cost in making this movie lol.
Loved her in "Spider Baby"
Excellent piece of work ❤❤
The portrait looks like a paint by number job.Just noticed someone in chat said Mickys got a covid haircut! lol!
The shot of the Mercedes from 23:46 - 23:58 is the high-lite of the flick.
I swear i hear the shining in the opening music!
A good 🎥in a fine clear print😉
Oh, my little trooper !
It is quite amazing to note the fine picture quality for a film that is more than 60 years old. So far as content is concerned the movie is not good at all even for fans of atmospheric horror which was in vogue in 1950s.
Another thing - Why is scary a$$ Jenny wandering the grounds at night looking for Mickey to say goodby? Not like she didn't have all day to do it. smh
Anyone notice the music at the beginning of the film is the same as "the Shining".
Its called “Dies irae, ”and it was written in the 13th century as a requiem for the dead used at Funerals. Its been used in a lot of movies; especially horror films.
@@TsukiumisGuy Thank you. It's a real ripper !.
@@starquant Your welcome. Another late 50s movie called "I Bury The Living" used it as its opening theme. Its really creepy music.
@@TsukiumisGuy Ikr.. just the right amount of the chill factor that enables you to hide under your blankets with one eye open scenario. 😁
You mean the music that was on "The Shining" sounds alot like this one "The Screaming Skull" 😉
I thought this was the ultimate scary? Hahahahaha! Haven't laughed so much for years!
WOW! That was so scary I almost died!!!!
I remember when MST3K did this movie.
That's here on UA-cam. When Mickey 1st appears one of the robots shouts 'CLAPTON!' 😆😆😆
Scteaming without lungs or a voicebox is an interesting trick for a skull.
Hey she's the lady on all those dragnet episodes.
Luv "The Shining" opening theme...
È muito bom! Obrigada por postar.
I couldn't take one more knock on a door!!!!
Marion’s ghost seek revenge
great video bro
Watched this with my mom in the 1970's scared the freaking crap out of me especially when the ghost figure pops up in the green house, then dances after her.
36:44 I do always love a good slap in the face after having a skull come at me like a bowling ball causing me to pass out in horror. Poor Jenni!
otimo filme recomendo
Poor mickey looks and acts like he couldn't tend a cabbage patch never mind be a landscape gardener!!!!!!
Maybe Mickey has Asperger"s.
But the actor who played Mickey, Alex Nicol, also directed this film!

Que imagem maravilhosa. Pena que a legenda é pequena. Verei mais tarde no celular.
At the top of the movie's poster (not shown) it says:
*FREE!! We guarantee to bury you without charge if you die of fright during SCREAMING SKULL*
Forewarned is forearmed, bring your security blankie if you expect to survive till the end of the film!
That seems more like a guarantee that the movie *won't* be scary
They say that at the intro to this.
KREIEISCH! SCREAAAM!
Sounds like Godzilla screeming.
Arrgh I missed it, will watch it later.👍
Sounds a lot like The Shining. Plot and of course, the music.
Dennis Mitchell Yes, thanks. I bury the living is a great movie. I’ll be watching it tonight.
That classical music piece was used in a few horror movies, that's why it's familiar.
@@dalehoward3704 sounds alot like musical score by Gerald Fried

This stuff creeped me out when I was little
HEADS UP: Pre-existing conditions nullify the offer made of a free funeral.
The Mercedes 300SL gullwing would be worth a million dollars, today.
*Would someone, please, shut up that Screaming Skull!* A corny, creepy cult classic from the 1950s!
Does Russ Conway tinkle an ivory ?..Doh 😆
It doesn't hold up too well today, but I can see how this would've been scary to audiences at the time and the plot is pretty solid for a horror/mystery.
Still made for a hilarious _MST3K_ episode, though.
Yeah, "Psycho" hadn't been released yet.
Idk Cigo , I kind of liked it back then and still like it here in 2023 😊
Saddens me that we'll never see a remake of this for the modern era, although we'd probably ruin it these days to be honest
Eric played by john Hudson was the snake like mr Loomis on one of the better episodes of dragnet.
