You know, it’s bad that Superman had to be the best man in all 3 of her weddings, but it might be worse that he was never invited as Clark in any of them. What kind of a friend is Lois?
Sasha loves her some evil, asshole fuck you Lois version of cover support superman. I mean damn. He must have attended 4 of her weddings...plus to lex and batman. Lol
At first I was like "She can't possibly be serious on doing a series on Lois marrying people." But then I saw today's title and I was like "YAY!" So I guess I'm into it. Keep going!
About a few days ago, i saw another "Lois Marriage" story, and thought "This is Sasha fodder", where Lois is "The Bride of Titanman". On the cover, it proves once again that Lois is skin deep, and asks Superman to save her, but Superman, sitting in a pugh said "That's what you get or not marrying me." . Goddamn, everyone was PETTY! lol (Oh yeah, I pronounce it 'Mix-Yis-Pit-Lick" and I still quote the library card dong and "Just a Little Homework" too, especially Buster's part, "WHY-AY-AYAYAYYYEEE, I think i'm gonna DIE-AYEYAYAYAAAYYYEEE!!!!!")
According to an old "Ask the Answer Man" column in the Daily Planet page in the back of mid-seventies DC comics, Bob Rozakis said the pronunciation is "Mix-yez-pitel-ick." Michael L. Fleisher's THE GREAT SUPERMAN BOOK from 1978 (basically the Superman volume of his ENCYCLOPEDIA OF COMIC BOOK HEROES, and reprinted as such in 2007) also used Rozakis's pronunciation, and added that Kltpzyxm is pronounced "Kel-tipz-yex-im."
I'd like to see a comic where Lois dies, old and alone, and yet she never figures out that it's because of her unhealthy obsession with being saved and superpowers!
LOL. Another day, another Lois Lane wedding. Do the one where Lois marries the Devil next. Saw the cover and thought "Oh man. Can't wait for Sasha to cover that one."
For what it's worth, DC lore at the time was that history cannot be changed, so Superman would not be able to alter Lois's and X-Plam's destiny. (Later, the inability to change the past was retconned in Crisis on Infinite Earths so that you could change it at the beginning of time. They've also been inconsistent about that, as Kamandi's future was said to "sometimes" stand between our time and the then-30th century Legion.)
This story was absurd, I expected something like when Mera thought Aquaman left her for an alien. Instead we get Loony Lane and best man Superman again
hey Sash! fun fact: in dc's 'who's who in the dc universe', they give the official phonetical pronunciation of mr. mxyzptlk as 'mr mix-yez-pittle-ick'. hope that helps you, it helped me lol (also, the old superfriends cartoon just pronounced it as 'mix-el-plick')
Yes. I read that comic and was kind of mystified! Supes never gave Lois a "yes" or "no" answer to her question of whether he would marry a Black woman!
I am glad they moved Lois from the Golden and Silver age versions to a more modern version, sometimes I just rolled my eyes when Lois came on the scene.
Superman thoughts were "But I can't consider marriage while I have my duties to perform..." Funny that's what WOnder Woman always says to Steve Trevor. Those knuckleheads in DC should have paired-off Diana and Clark after being invited to teh Lane-Trevor wedding.
Gosh, I DO need the playlist of Lois marrying different people! I was trying to sleep last night and thought "you know, I actually do want the series of 'who has Lois married'" and today there is another video Fate?
Does anyone else find it weird there aren't equivalents of these where other people marry Superman? ...I say that well aware that someone will now list 20 issues where that happens lol
You always take exactly the right tone in your commentary. You mix whimsy with analysis and strike just the right balance. I appreciate that you do not dismiss these silly stories from the 1960s as stupid. Those were the stories I grew up with and I have a nostalgic respect and fondness for them. I even remember reading many of the older Superman stories you review. Thank you.
This....I needed this laugh today! What was up with Superman just destined to be the best man...lol! The shout-out to Arthur and Twighlight Zone....yess!! 🙌😂🤣 Loved it! Thank you Sasha!!🥰😘❤
I'm a new subscriber and I can't tell you how much I enjoy your channel! Your research is flawless. I especially enjoy your open mindedness, tolerance and especially your HUMOR. I was born in the silver age, grew up in the bronze age and still read comics today. I love how you 'get' Lois Lane. Few do now days! We loved her in the seventies. Check out the Superman Family issue where she becomes the Bionic Lois Lane. Also seminal is the one where she grows a giant brain and has to go to Las Vegas to work as a showgirl because the head dresses will cover her gigantic head. Then to make matters worse, Bizarro suddenly finds her extremely attractive! Love what you're doing!
Its funny how X-Plam selflessly threw his life away just to please a vain woman like Lois but she doesn't care and she moved on rather quickly. Poor X-Plam.
Love your hair. You would think Superman would just give up on Lois by now 😂. And if you read bad comments that make you want to cry just remember: bad comments come from bad people and bad people are stupid. So have sympathy for the stupid. 😀

Nice to see that in 1960 they still believed newspapers would still exist. And if she had married the King of All Space then would have that made the prince from Katamari Damacy their son? Last, that episode of The Twilight Zone William Shatner did (one of two he did for the series, the other being 'Nick of Time') was called Nightmare at 20,000 Feet- not in my top 5 but still a favorite of mine...
Your best, funniest video! (Though I know you've made other ones since this so this opinion may change in the future - or however you yourself phrase it.)
So... while Lois was gone, Superman went a day into the future to check the Daily Planet to find out Lois was a widow? Wow. Man needs a hobby. I was momentarily intrigued by the possibility that when Lois *does* marry Clark, it's her second marriage, but this is Pre-Crisis, so... maybe not? And if they have time machines just lying around, wouldn't they have an entire industry devoted to making the radioactive fuel easy to procure from, say, the corner store, rather than having to risk your life every time you wanted to go back in time because you're so unappealing that you can't find someone to marry without breaking the laws of physics? SO MANY QUESTIONS.
Okay, this issue was basically a more shallow version of the plot from “There’s Something About Mary.” 1960 Lois has me just as confused about her a appeal as I am about Bella Swan’s. Wait a minute... she jumped off a cliff to get a man’s attention last episode, didn’t she?
I need this to be an ongoing series 🤣🤣🤣 Every issue 60’s Louis gets married to someone else, while Sups goes to creepy Louis Lane to process his feelings. Great video Sasha!
I think theres a 60s Superman panel where Jimmy Olsen explains how to pronounce Mxyptlk, and we can still check the Gilbert Godfreid version from the 90's cartoon
Its honestly makes me wonder what lois expects being married to superman to actually be like. You dont have the chase, the running after that red and blue car. You get the same mundanity of life but now you have a super partner who is gone most the time saving lives and helping people. Like i love that lois never actually marries or moves on, its kinda quaint and cool with how much twists, turns and loopdi loops they do to not have her become married but also keep her from moving on
I remember a Lois Lane story in which both she and Lana Lang give up on Superman and emigrate to the bottled city of Kandor and end up competing over the same Kandorian ladies man.
In the 50’s and 60’s, ugliness was considered to be a crime. In the first Bizarro story, Superboy tried to kill Bizzarro because he was ugly
Well it certainly wasn't the most tolerant time period
Poor Bizarro, people really need to start treating him better
Even the contemporary readers thought Superboy was a jerk in that story and pressured the writers into resurrecting Bizzaro.
Literally, yes. There were “ugly laws” that said anyone deformed couldn’t be seen in public. They weren’t repealed for another ten years.
In Bizarro World being ugly would mean he was handsome since everything's opposite there.
You know, it’s bad that Superman had to be the best man in all 3 of her weddings, but it might be worse that he was never invited as Clark in any of them. What kind of a friend is Lois?
Can wait to hear about the time Lana and Louis hypnotized baby Superman in marrying them both
Hol up...

It’s starting to look like Eddie Murphy’s “Party All the Time” should be the official theme for Lois and Clark.

I like that X-Plam keeps his dorky alien voice even when he turns into a hunk.
"Haha! A wife for X-Plam!
he was still dorky, after all.
honestly, the voice is a worse fate. just hearing it makes my ears want to bleed.
If I was doing a movie starring Superman and Lois Lane, it would be called: "She's Just Not That Into You; Let Go"!
The moral of every Silver Age story: If you're bald, look different, or slightly ugly, you are tHE WORST POSSIBLE THING TO EXIST.
Also evil.

On the subject of Lois changing her appearance wasn't there a comic where she decided to see what it was like to live as a black woman for the bants?
Yes. It's a story called ' I am curious: black' and it came out in 1969. I'd love to see a video about it.
Yes. I read that comic and was kind of mystified! Supes never gave Lois a "yes" or "no" answer to her question of whether he would marry a Black woman!
that Lois is a freak. Even in the CW show she only got it on with capes.
