    In this video tutorial I demonstrate how to create a delicate and elegant chocolate boarder around a cake decorated with fresh berries and flowers.

    For leveling and torting a cake, please watch: • Fondant Christmas Gift...
    Or check out just about all my cake decorating videos lol I have decided to stop showing this process as I have showed it at least 40+ times. I think people get the gist ;)
    I used Cadbury dark chocolate melts, I only needed 2 handfuls or so of the chocolate to fit around a 5 inch cake (probably 6 inches once you add the buttercream layer, so approximately 1/2 a cup of chocolate.
    The flowers I used were labeled wax flowers, so I assume that's what they are called. But any flowers will do, I chose these particular ones because the colours matched the berries and the green spiced things up a little.
    Thanks guys for tuning in! I shall catch you again on Tuesday :D

    So beautiful! Love the contrast between the chocolate and the berries. Might be a fun Valentine's day cake too...would be cute to pipe some thicker chocolate heart shapes and then reinforce them with all the swirls. I'd try that and fail, I'm sure. haha.

    • @Rosiesdessertspot
      @Rosiesdessertspot  6 років тому

      Hey hun, you can, although it wouldn't be as stable. I usually add half butter and half cream cheese when I create cream cheese frosting. It just helps the frosting to become firmer than regular cream cheese frosting. This should work! Just not under fondant lol but if you are replicating this exact cake, then adding butter into the frosting will keep it nice and firm.

      Hi +bibah samah thank you :) the chocolate that I used is compound chocolate (Cadbury or Nestle Melts) so it doesn't need tempering. If you wanted to use real chocolate then it would be a good idea to temper the chocolate first :)

      Hi hun, I used chocolate by Nestle, which is the compound chocolate. Compound chocolate doesn't need to be tempered :)

      Thank you! That is a lot cheaper than using my Couverture chocolate. And thanks for posting this informative video.
