im sorry for the delay, so i have a feeling your using chocolate that needs to be tempered. The chocolate i use is a type of cooking chocolate which sets hard. Regular chocolate once melted and piped will wont set easily and will break or be bendy. you might need to look for cooking chocolate or check out videos for how to temper chocolate. tempering Is a technique that help restore the coco molecules in the chocolate to harden back to a solid and hold shape. I hope that helps. sorry you had problems with this.
thank you so much for this! i've made butterflies with regular chocolate, and it's so problematic and the finished product is too fragile. i use candy melts on cookies all the time! candy melts are so much stronger and easier to work with! the only thing people who would like to try this should keep in mind is to get used to keeping this at the right temperature to work with, play with it to get faster at it. make simple ones till you get better at it, and don't use too much at a time. also take your time to melt the candy melts, ALWAYS melt at 50% microwave or you'll get tiny bits in them. also wilton ez thin will help too. the teacher here is correct, the possibilities are endless!! this is a great tutorial.
