That 7.0 engine was also in Holden sedans in Australia called the “W427” they are now very expensive. $160,000usd- $285,000usd. It makes the Z06 a very cheap buy from an Aussie point of view. I have the Holden SS 6.0 ute (like a modern day El Camino)
I have the exact car but I have the limited Ed Will Cooksy version #99. Mine has Corsa cat back and ram air and few other items the PO did back when new I have owned since 2010 and since then have gone through over 20 cars. I currently have 4 vetts and other cars and its one of my favorite to drive. It now has around 580 HP and on a trip I have had as much as 27 MPG. It only problems were some tire air sensors and 1 rear wheel bearing that was replaced early on under warranty. I never do burn outs as the tires are way too expensive and it would be cheaper to just set my wallet on fire but it is definitely hard on tires. I get 6K out of rears and maybe 10-12k out or fronts. My buddy has one with a big cam and electronic full open exhaust. It’s badass and the only problem is, trying to get traction, and that’s a good problem to have.
Raced this guy on my bike about 2 and a half years ago in Pennsylvania. I was riding my new bike all the way from PA to Michigan. Saw his c7 and we raced
I kept my 2009 Base Coupe 2LT, Z51, Transparent Top, Premium Chrome Wheels, NPP, Paddle Shift Automatic, purchased off the Dealership Showroom Floor (Was there from December 2008 until I bought it 5/5/2009 for $51,990 discounted down from a MSRP of $58,400). Dealerships were going through tough times 2008 through 2009 and I benefited from it. My local dealerships saw few Corvette allocations and would rarely discount Corvettes. Although it’s not a ZO6, with only 7,200 miles on it, I am so glad I kept it. That LS3 still feels great! It just wants to pull and pull and pull for 436 horsepower. 👍👍 Back in 2011, I saw a 2008 Batmobile on the very showroom floor where I purchased my C6 for $48,000 as I recall. Unfortunately, the wife vetoed my plan to get the Black on Black ZO6 because she didn’t want any “Stick Cars” in the fleet. Kept my hopes up for automatics to come, but it took awhile.
2006 Z06 owner here! It is amazing that a 16year old design is still a relevant high performance car today in 2022. What i love about my car is the rawness of it. I dont feel like the car is driving me, like most modern vechiles these days. My car is a meduim H/C/I/E car with fixed heads 557whp (133mph trap speed). Car is a street beast and reliable. Bought my car before the "VID" prices for $36k w/39k on the odometer. There are lots of way to mod these car but not many stock examples. Keep it stock if thats what you want. I prefer the chop of a cammed LS7 with LT headers. These cars easily get to 600whp with large cams but it will effect drivabilty and some low end power. For the street, a small or medium cam really wakes these cars up with almost no drivability issues. The reason so many do cams in these cars is if you are pulling the heads to get "fixed" you might as well drop a cam in too. Check out Katech, LMR , BTR and RPM. You are prob alrready aware of most of this info. Lastly, even though i'm not a fan of the C7 corvettes, your ZR1 is bada$$. Keep on rollin!
That has to be one of the cleanest C6 Z06's I have seen in a while! You can always tell by looking at the plastic on the headlights and the leather in the drivers seat.
The way you explain it yeah this z06 is a good buy this is the last corvette with that true old school style you got that body style of the old school vettes , and round Circle tail lights that's true ,that the last one with those round tail light a true corvette car enthusiast would want this one definitely without a doubt
since you have the C7 ZR1 and C8 Z06 coming soon, I was hoping for a Camaro Z/28 on the channel the car is super rare and shares the same drivetrain with the C6 Z06. and comes with a manual too.
Beautiful cars man!!! You have total creampuffs! When I was in the market last year to get a c6 to park next to my 5th gen ss I was looking at c6z06's. Unfortunately they went from being in the 30's to 40's with in the last few years. I ended up getting a 2006 Loma wide body Lemans Blue C6 who's ls7 was replaced after it dropped a valve with a built lq4. Nice small stage two btr cam, super charger, meth kit, bigger fuel injectors, full exhaust, heads, lifters, forged bottom end for $32k. Car has 29k originally miles and 8k on the motor. I will say it is fun, but the cast iron motor runs pretty darn hot here in az. I have a big aluminum dual fan radiator and a 160° thermostat. It's fun, but not cammed ls7 fun! Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to watch more of your vids on your beautiful cars!
Good day Justin; being an owner of a 2011 Grand Sport, I’m a huge fan of the C6 wide body; I’m not a fan of the manual, as the only manual I’ve ever driven, were the Jeeps I drove while serving in the Marines, and for that reason I chose the Grand Sport over the Z06; once again, congratulations on the purchase of your Z06, and I’m truly looking forward to all of the upcoming content; take care !

@@HorsePowerObsessed That's excellent! Always looking forward to more content with the Z06 as well as the ZR1. Both of those cars are phenomenal
I have a c6 carbon edition. Supercharged. It's awesome.
Tkx for video
I think all Corvettes age well but I'm definitely looking into a 2013 Z06 🥰
Last week we have bought 2008 C6 Z06 EU spec for 58.000 Euros with 61.000km milleage. Love it already. Greetings from Europe :)
Justin that's a wonderful example of a well taken care of '08 C6 ZO6, You were staying at the same Motel in Carlisle as myself and I checked it out closely in the parking lot ... sweet! Congrats and lots of luck with her. On another note, I received the package that you mailed out to me today, thank you,
You're very welcome! The car was actually being driven by Jason (Front Seat Driver) so you were at his hotel. I stayed closer to the field.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Kool!
My buddy has one with a big cam and electronic full open exhaust. It’s badass and the only problem is, trying to get traction, and that’s a good problem to have.
Exactly!!!
Raced this guy on my bike about 2 and a half years ago in Pennsylvania. I was riding my new bike all the way from PA to Michigan. Saw his c7 and we raced
Yes you sure did. It was an awesome race for sure. Neither of us were able to pull away from the other.
Back in 2011, I saw a 2008 Batmobile on the very showroom floor where I purchased my C6 for $48,000 as I recall.
💯 agree!
If you can find one that's been garage the headlights will be top notch as far as looks.
The way you explain it yeah this z06 is a good buy this is the last corvette with that true old school style you got that body style of the old school vettes , and round Circle tail lights that's true ,that the last one with those round tail light a true corvette car enthusiast would want this one definitely without a doubt
Love the c6z. I'm definitely going to pick one up as well as a c8z. Love the Doug demouro intro 😂
lol thanks!!
Looking good and great tips! Great chat today appreciate it…keep up with the great work on your channel-Stephen
Thanks! Will do!
since you have the C7 ZR1 and C8 Z06 coming soon, I was hoping for a Camaro Z/28 on the channel the car is super rare and shares the same drivetrain with the C6 Z06. and comes with a manual too.
I would LOVE a 5th gen Z28 but those are so hard to find now for a decent price.
Thank you! The C6 is definitely an awesome generation and the first Corvette that I truly fell in love with!
Doug demuro entrance
Yes sir!
Hi Justin, Thank you again for all your vids and awesome info. Yes, I still have my C6 Z06 ! wish I can post a foto for you :) be well and safe my friend
and a beautiful car you purchased, very nice and great price, I see them going for over 50k with excellent cond and decent miles, you did well :)
Thank you! You can always send me an email with the picture. Horse.Power.Obsessed@gmail.com
Justin,
That is such a great car! Really enjoyed my short drives in it during Carlisle...ha ha ha!
Looking forward to seeing it on the channel soon!
100 👍 Currently
Be well
-Shane
Thanks, Shane! It's a great car for sure!
Great video!! Congrats on your C6 Z06 purchase!! Rare low mile find in good shape!!
Great Corvette; this one and the C6ZR1, also!!😁🤟🔧🛠️
A heads cam upgrade on these puts it into another level..
Agreed. I’m looking into it!
@@HorsePowerObsessed Id like to see you do a race between the C6 z06 stock against the C7 ZR1 then again after you do the heads cam upgrade think that be some good content
Great idea!
there is a good argument for the bfb going to the c5 with a few upgrades, but the trump card is with out a doubt the ls7 and dry sump oiling as well as the calipers and i think the c6z has a better liked trans. now a c5 with a ls7... dreams hopefully come true. all that being said i would light a lot of very nice cars on fire to have a c6 zo6!
100% agree!!
Hi make sur you do the heads up grade the clutch master cylinder to. Dot 4 service I have the same. C6 z06 in jet stream blue 19.000 miles love the car
It’s so beautiful
Not much can be said: F--n Beautiful Car!!!
Thank you!
I want the C5 Z as well.
Camera and mic looking and sounding great.
We had tons of stuff in it going to Carlisle.
The C5Z is definitely going to happen!
The intro had Doug Demuro sprinkled in it😂 that’s a CLEAN c6
lol yes it did! Thank you!!
I got the 2008 427 limited edition. Hit 0ver 200mph other day!!!
😲 Stock?!
@@HorsePowerObsessed Yes!!
Love this car. It was a lot of fun to drive
Dang, Jason! That was possibly the fastest response time ever on a video!
Nice ride, Justin. I love my C7Z but would also enjoy having one of these at their current price point.
Exactly right! The c7 z06 is arguably a better car but for the price, you can’t beat the c6 z06
@@HorsePowerObsessed Agreed, Sir. You made me go out there and look! You sure found a nice one for the money. Can’t wait to see your content from it!
Such a beautiful ZO6Good job.
Thank you!
This is why it's the goat! THE GOAT!!
If the exhaust valves have been fixed then it's nice if not debatable
Still beautiful C6 Corvette Still legend.
Agreed!
@@HorsePowerObsessed 😀
Got to test drive a used C6 Z06 and it was incredible 😮. Couldn’t afford it though. 😢
Looking for a 3rd Corvette .. Traded our 2019 Sebring Orange Stingray owning it for 4 years. Wife is still crying saying wed never gets rid of it but didnt😢. Prior to that owned a C6 Atomic Orange Vette.. owned it about 4 years. Looking for probably a C6 all stock if possible all OEM. The shopping begins.
I am open to selling this one if you're interested. Email me at horse.power.obsessed@gmail.com if you're interested.
No way.. C5 CORVETTE body lines are much more stealthy looking. Plus the pop up headlights are 🔥
I don't like bug looking lights.. people still sleeping on the C5.
Bang for buck I definitely think base c6 is the better buy. Base ls3 stick cars can now be had for $24k with pretty low miles. And $20k will go an awful long way when modding an ls3 with the 6060.
As a 2008 Z06 owner I'm shocked by the almost 500 Miles on full tank. I got 450 ish miles on a full tank.
This car still outruns well over 99% of the muscle or sport cars today. There are plenty of videos to prove it 😊
Need some honest answers...out of the 4 cars I'm thinking about..which would be ones chioce? 1. 2021 MACH1, 2. 2008 Zo6, 3. 2024 mustang gt, 4. 2004 COBRA....
Better get those heads fixed dude! Awesome car!
Definitely replace the headlights with the C8 style that Street Speed 717 did to his. Definitely upgrades the look for sure. First mod I would do.
100%! I'm doing that for sure but I'm getting the C7 style lights just because I obviously have a thing for C7's lol
You can install Oracle halo rings on your stock ones to upgrade the look as well. The Morimoto C7 style lights are a great option too!
I want to get those headlights, but they don't have in the color I want them. They should colored, like in white which I have a white z06
I really want one of these Z06’s. I feel like it’s worth skipping the other C6 models to get this beast! 505HP, 7.0 N/A V8, 6 speed, what else could you ask for?
It is an awesome machine!
I would get a c6 z06 but for the same price im thinking of getting a 6th Gen camaro SS 1LE. Its a hard choice
more Z06 than the C8 Z06 could ever be. Why? It's a real Corvette and it is shifted with a manual
I own a c-5. I'm hoping to one day own a c6 zo6
They are both really cool cars!
I'd still say the C7 Grand Sport is the car to buy.
You still get a hell of a car with a base z51 manual for about half of your z06
True but in my opinion there’s more car here in stock form so best bang for the buck.
That’s Red-Line Motorsport
I opened this video, and alt tabbed right as it started to play. I SWORE I accidentally clicked on a Doug Demouro video lmao
Love the car it was the best bang for your buck pre covid >
It still is, all things considered.
@@HorsePowerObsessed ya you right
Lol the start
🤣🤣🤣
There are some videos of these racing around the Nurburgring, very good lap times. But I still have no idea what design the suspension is.
.
The lightest corvette in recent history. that 2008 z06 is only 3162 lbs (only 150 lbs more than a Chevy Cobalt!) It's my favorite.
Love it!!
The C5 z06 when it was going under 20k pre covid might have been the only better bargain.
Stock for stock it would have been close but I think the C6 still wins because even then you could get a good quality Z06 for high 20's low 30's.
