@@OLLI_UP I agree. I think he sold it to me lower because I used to own one 3 years ago exact same color. I also got lucky it was only 50 min drive away from me
Man, I didn't even think about the straight sixes from the first years of production! You guys definitely got me on this one! I could argue that the way that horse power was measured in '53 versus '75, it would be very close, but I was still incorrect! Thank you for the reminder that I still have a lot to learn! :) Lyle
When you said 1975 which I own I had to think uh the C1 blue flame but yes we all learn. Love my 1975 btw vert Thank you Lyle for another great video as always.
Picked up a 2008 C6 Z06 last week with only 8053km on the dial. All engine work already done. Cosmetics etc for $66500 cdn. I would say condition is a 9.8/10.
Lyle thanks for your video on C6 z06. I just put up for sale a 2012 Carlisle Blue z06 with 7,300 miles. Car is in Concours condition and i priced it at 70,000. Your video was very informative and gave me great insight. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Perfect timing on this one, Lyle! Just looking at C6 Z06s. Was going to ask if you’ve done a video on the LS7 concerns, I will check those out now. Awesome stuff!
I bought my C6Z06 in 2019. It had 4200 miles on it. Heads,Cam cold air intake and long tube headers already done with an upgraded zr1 style clutch. I paid $41,900 I have 28k on it now. Great car that gets tons of attention. I did add a Corsa Extreme exhaust.
I had a 2008 c6 z06 2Lz bought it with 7,000 miles . Sold it with 17,000 miles over 4 years loved that car and the 427 . But I wanted the target top and figured that with the c8 being auto, I really wanted a c7 manual and bough it last year a 2017 3LZ manual 7spd man what a car ... its my forever car
Awesome cars! I have an 09 atomic orange gem. Find a reputable shop that has done many LS7 head swaps, and just get it done. You can once again enjoy your car, like you should. Keeping mine till my right hand won't row , and left leg is seized, lol.

I bought my 2007 in 2010 for 42k with 12k on the odometer. In late 2012 there was a brand new 2013 on a Chevy lot for over 110k. They got expensive in the end.
Lyle, you said the 1975 Corvette L48 engine had 165 hp. The National Corvette Museum website states the 1953 Corvette engine had 150 hp, which makes it lower. :) I guessed 1953 as the lowest, so I had to look it up. I got the 2019 ZR1 right.
Hey Lyle, loving your channel and content. I’m looking and learning a lot about the C6 and want a GS! I live here in Lee County . My brother in Las Vegas follows you for a few years now. He started with a 1982 and now has an2008 convertible 3lt. I hope to find the perfect GS!
I've got a '10 3lt triple Black GS manual convertible ... they're damn good cars. I've had my clutch fluid flushed/changed 2x's since buying it in 2016 from the original owner, who'd ordered it new. Just went over 14,000 original miles.
c6 z06s are great cars but i can find many with low miles for under 40k so who would pay those high prices? ls7 valve problems are something to be concerned with but just have it taken apart and get a monster H/C set up.
Speaking of c6z, I have an 06 and OCCASIONALLY it will make a whining noise downshifting into 2nd and sometimes cruising in 5th. I thought it was the trans at first but I’m not sure. Would you guys have any ideas?
It could be the transmission, but whining at cruise in 5th would make me suspect the Differential....next time the car is in the air for an oil change, have the technician listen to the Torque tube, transmission and Diff with the car running in gear...that will tell the tale. Lyle
Have your clutch fluid flushed / drained. GM had a memo sent out a few years back on having this done every couple years or 24k miles. For most owners, it'll be every 2 yrs.
bought a 2007 z06 for 14k obviously no engine, frame is good body's good condition the interior is 9 out of 10. My Plan is to build the engine, supercharger it and see what it can do. There are deals out there for these z06s
For lowest HP I would say probably 1976? I would think even the first couple years of the C1 would have more power then some of the dogs in the late 70s with all the smog stuff choking them. For highest HP I would say the C7 ZR1? Curious to see what the answers are.
Absolutely not. Those cars are in a league of their own. I see them in "GOOD" condition bringing $55K plus. Excellent examples could bring considerably more. Lyle
Piling on the poor '75 hurts, Lyle. Especially for those of us that own one, lol. And then you double down and rub it in when comparing it to the 2019 ZR-1. Words hurt, Lyle, lol. 😂 😜
@@outsidethegames1884 oh I do. Mine is a Steel Blue vert with white top. One day maybe I'll consider an engine swap, but for now, she's a great cruiser.
The blue flame 6 had the lowest horsepower, something like 110…. Gross or net?? They changed that rating in the 70’s. The highest hp is 670 in the C8 Z06 for normally aspirated hp. The c7 ZR1 had the highest at 700, off the top of my head.
they made some 83s - even though they didn't sell any of them. So, technically, in a way, the 83s did have horsepower. I like your joke though and if we restrict it to cars you could buy, then it's still valid. I got to see the one and only remaining 1983 Corvette at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. Kind of cool.
I just bought a 2008 c6 z06 for $33k. 67k miles. One owner. Literally 0 problems. I've driven it about 50/60 days past 2 months. Runs perfectly
Where at?

Lyle, you'd have been correct if you asked lowest and highest HP ratings with V8s...
Im going to strongly disagree with identical values for 06-13.
I second that. 2011-2013 are arguably the best of the C6zs.

Hagerty is like Zillow, always low-balling actual values. Actual transaction prices dictate true values
