That gentle and sincere “I don’t know” after a period of silence is so genuine and clashes with the absurdity of the sketch so well. Holy shit this one is gold.
Correct. That's the part that hits the hardest. It's a prank show, but reveals deep sincerity. Had he said "No" or "Yes", the definitiveness of his answer would "go with the grain" of a prank and be therefore unfunny. Brilliant stuff. Well spotted. Like and owl. Or dick. Or a walrus. No, walrus doesn't work.
For me, the most underrated part of this sketch is how well they nailed the “prank show” tropes from the music to the time lapse to all of the crew laughing, they really hit the nail on the head.
Tim mumbling through that stiff frozen face “I don’t want to be around anymore” is one of the funniest things I have seen in my life, I busted my back laughing
The part where he suggests ripping the head off as a new bit, the producer agrees and then Tim immediately again caves and says "I'm not doing it" is absolutely priceless. Perfect misdirect.
That was one of my favorite parts about this sketch. It's ostensibly framed as a prank skit, and it does appear that the surrounding people are real, but they don't factor into the sketch at all.
That little STFU and its delivery is one of my favorite things about this sketch and has made its way into the list of inappropriate things I say in person.
I was already dying of laughter the moment I saw that absurdly giant prosthetic head on. Why was he an 80 year old man but they made him ripped as fuck?
I have dealt with major depressive disorder throughout my life and you are 100% correct. It blew me away how authentic he made it. It’s exactly the kind of semi-ambiguous wording that us depressed people use, in an attempt to not completely alarm their friend but at the same time somehow communicate to them you are in a really bad place and need help. Most sketch shows would have probably written it in the skit as “I don’t want to be alive anymore”, or “I can’t do this anymore” and it’s the small attention to detail with respect to emotional authenticity that is so amazing. If they had cast anyone else on earth for that line this skit would not have worked at all.
I think that's what made it so funny for me. When I first saw this, I was like yeah that's exactly how I would feel in 50 pounds of prosthetics. Tim Robinson just has the absolute best way to express what would otherwise be a normal thing. "Ugh I'm feeling claustrophobic in all this makeup" becomes "there's too much fuckin shit on me." And it's goddamn glorious.
Yes but he will throw the audience off by being the straight man every now and again, like in the airplane and charades sketches from season 1, or the diner and professor sketches in season 2. Love how unpredictable this series is ❤
Lost it at "What does that do for the greater good" That's exactly how people get when they aren't feeling up for something they would normally love to do.
I was in a recent car accident and suffered a pretty bad head injury. The passed couple of days the effects of my concussion started to subside, and my head was starting to hurt less and less. I came across this episode on Netflix and when the words “I don’t don’t even wanna be around anymore” came out of Tim’s mouth I started laughing so hard that the pressure in my head increased and I was in severe pain but I couldn’t stop laughing throughout the entire rest of the sketch and I mean I was BALLING laughing. Tears practically shooting out of my tear ducts and my head is in more pain still than it was just after the accident but it was seriously worth it because that shit is the funniest thing I’ve seen in probably a decade. Wow. So simple and so impactful. What an art.
this sketch is working on so many levels. its like a russian doll of comedy. really appreciate the absolutely, abysmal dark turn it took towards the end.
@@davidmckesey7119 was looking to see if someone commented on it, yeah, dark turn for sure at the end so well done. the ending to the last sketch of ep 1 was super dark too (the haunted house tour one)
The part that kills me every time is imagining this scene from the perspective of the mall-goers. Without the context of hearing or knowing about the crew in the trailer outside. Just witnessing a stranger in an obvious old man mask walk into the middle of a food court and descend into insanity and sadness completely unprompted. And they'll never get any closure of why this happened. It's beautiful.
Everything he says is terrifying for an onlooker. “I’m carrying way too much sh on me” sound like he’s got weapons “I’m so hot” sounds like he’s angry “I can’t do this” sounds like he’s amping himself up to do something horrific “I’m gonna rip the fkn head off” hahah terrifying “It kills, yeah it actually does kill” again, terrifying without context “Explain why it’s funny, is it because she’s alone”. Bruh….he turns to the girl and says that. After everything he’s said. TERRIFYING! I actually don’t know if they intended for it to be funny in this way but it’s the funniest part
For me, this is without a doubt, the funniest sketch of all time. I've watched it 50+ times in a week and it makes me laugh every time. Dozens of amazing quotes and so many layers and shifts, that you find something new to laugh at every time you watch it. It's just comedy perfection.
I absolutely love this line. Like Craig is supposed to buy that the reason he previously suggested that idea had nothing to do with its potential humor factor.
There's something so funny about seeing the early stages of the makeup for that character and wondering "how will this come together?" And then it just doesn't and the time-lapse ends way faster than you expect
We had to pause this skit for several minutes during the show because my wife genuinely thought I might die. I absolutely could not breathe I was laughing so hard. Dear God this show is wonderful.

Shout out to the actor playing the guy in the van being an outstanding straight man to Tim's lunacy. (He was also great as the guy with a sleeping disorder in High Maintenance.)
i watched this sketch after a blunt and i couldnt breathe, i havent had tears from laughing like that for years, i had to come back to it at work the next day while sober, and i literally couldnt stop myself from audibly cracking up. jesus this was gold!
I love how Tim Robinson says things in slightly unnatural ways sometimes, like at 0:24 when he says "Talks loudly on his phone about his dog is loose" instead of "...about how his dog is loose". The driver's ed skit where he says "I can't know how to hear anymore about tables!" is another great example. I wonder if it is cause even though he and Zach write these skits out, there is probably a good deal of improvising , and sometimes the slightly off stuff is just funnier
@@gonzo_o_o lol exactly, another of my favorites. The line in that skit, "he was trying to call me a liar and a thief like Nixon and a pig" also doesn't fully make sense, I love that too.
I think the legitimately brilliant aspect of I Think You Should Leave is the sense of empathy that Tim brings to the characters. They don't feel clownish or stupid; you can see their motivations, even if they're bizarre. If you've felt awkward at a party (or in public), or if some random bit of bullshit was the last straw for you, you can grasp where these characters are coming from. They're wounded people, they're asinine people, they're people you'd never want to interact with, but fundamentally they're still people. This is where Tim Robinson succeeds while Saturday Night Live has failed for the last decade.
Watched the first episode of season 2 last night and this skit and coffin flop had me literally crying laughing. This is the best show I hope it lives a long life.
The first time I watched this clip I didn't really laugh or think it was particularly hilarious. Then the next day I was having a big family dinner and the skit popped up in my mind for no reason in particular and I was trying so hard not to burst out laughing in the middle of a conversation. I probably looked crazy with a huge grin on my face while my family talked about COVID, trying not to explode in laughter - the makeup for this character is so ridiculous and why does his voice completely change when he's in costume? LOL
I just love how excited he is to get in there and prank people just for him to stand in the middle of the mall yelling at the guys in the van….and nobody is paying attention to him at all
This felt like a metaphor for the entire process he goes through. Come up with a sketch idea, think it's going to be hysterical, go all in on the setup, and then feel overwhelmed and want to die while performing it.
It’s a rare sketch that gets funnier each time you watch it. Didn’t even notice the ripped arms the first time around as I was struggling to breathe from laughter
ive watched this skit so many times already and it doesn't get old. Everytime weve watched it we laughed as much as the first time seeing it. Incredible! 😂
1:57 - 2:02 is the funniest thing I have ever seen. It makes me laugh every time. The absurdity of the situation, the voice, the movement, everything is so perfect.
This was the most I've laughed at anything ever. I was in pain from the convulsions and my wife was pissed off that I wouldn't stop. I love anything that gets that from me.
I am being 100% serious here: I have had depression on and off throughout my life and have been to “the edge” many times. After watching this sketch, I have thought about it a few times while on “the edge” and have been able to laugh myself away from it. So…it may have saved my life.
You know it's a great skit when none of us can agree on what the funniest part is. Scrolling through the comments, there are so many different "this is where I lost it" moments. For me, it's how he angrily and stubbornly shouts "I'm telling you that I AM!"
This skit and the blues brothers skit had me not being able to breathe. Ya boy was enjoying a couple "vitamins" while watching, so I was feeling nice, and then those two skits sent me over the edge.
This perfectly captures how I used to feel about those old pranks they'd do on like MTV where the make-up made it OBVIOUS that they weren't a real person's face but people would still react like it didn't look like shit 🤣🤣
That gentle and sincere “I don’t know” after a period of silence is so genuine and clashes with the absurdity of the sketch so well. Holy shit this one is gold.

Another classic: "For 50 seconds, I thought there was monsters on the world."
@@gonzo_o_o lol exactly, another of my favorites. The line in that skit, "he was trying to call me a liar and a thief like Nixon and a pig" also doesn't fully make sense, I love that too.
YES
YES

Him saying “this guy sucks” and the makeup girls just like not reacting to it is my favorite
…what?
Oh my GOD this guy SUCKS this is gonna be S O O O O O O FUNNY
Lol this guy SUCKS
Everything has sucked lately
I think the legitimately brilliant aspect of I Think You Should Leave is the sense of empathy that Tim brings to the characters. They don't feel clownish or stupid; you can see their motivations, even if they're bizarre. If you've felt awkward at a party (or in public), or if some random bit of bullshit was the last straw for you, you can grasp where these characters are coming from. They're wounded people, they're asinine people, they're people you'd never want to interact with, but fundamentally they're still people.
This is where Tim Robinson succeeds while Saturday Night Live has failed for the last decade.
This comment deserves a Pulitzer fucking Prize.
SNL still strikes gold every now and then.

That sketch where the guy refuses to participate in the "everyone put your credit card in " game comes to mind for me.
Watched the first episode of season 2 last night and this skit and coffin flop had me literally crying laughing. This is the best show I hope it lives a long life.
Coffin Flop nearly killed me... I had to stop eating dinner while watching it because I was laughing so hard I was choking on my food.
I cannot believe how hard I laughed at this. I don't know if I've ever laughed this hard before
I know 🤣🤣🤣 I was like, convulsing 😅
I nearly died laughing the first time I saw this.. 😂
"What does that do for the greater good" 💀
I found it interestingggg
The first time I watched this clip I didn't really laugh or think it was particularly hilarious. Then the next day I was having a big family dinner and the skit popped up in my mind for no reason in particular and I was trying so hard not to burst out laughing in the middle of a conversation. I probably looked crazy with a huge grin on my face while my family talked about COVID, trying not to explode in laughter - the makeup for this character is so ridiculous and why does his voice completely change when he's in costume? LOL
Same. It grew on me. First time I was like “it’s okay” and now I can’t stop saying “THERE’S TOO MUCH FUCKING SHIT ON ME! I CAN’T!”
I actually had the same reaction. First time didn't laugh much but for some reason the second time had me actually crying from laughter.
why did your family talk about corona?
This sketch always cracks me up until the line “I don’t even want to be around anymore.” That part is so real.
I just love how he delivers “there’s too much fucking shit on me”
I just love how excited he is to get in there and prank people just for him to stand in the middle of the mall yelling at the guys in the van….and nobody is paying attention to him at all
Every time he says “I’m going to rip the fucking head off”, I lose my shit lol
This felt like a metaphor for the entire process he goes through. Come up with a sketch idea, think it's going to be hysterical, go all in on the setup, and then feel overwhelmed and want to die while performing it.
Ive watched this so many times. Funniest thing I've seen in years.
The perfectly timed “shut the fuck up” is my favorite part
“There’s too much f*cking sh*t on me” after standing still for a minute really hits home the manic vibe 🤣
“It’s quite heavy Craig” gets me every single time
Tim’s acting at the beginning perfectly captures the energy of what I imagine a prank show host to be like.
This had my wheezing for air. Holy shit why is this so funny.
It’s a rare sketch that gets funnier each time you watch it. Didn’t even notice the ripped arms the first time around as I was struggling to breathe from laughter
I am on my 50th watch and i only just now noticed how bad the hair is 😂
The way Tim/Carmine hangs on "This is going to be ssssssssssssssssso funny" gets me
The little "shut the fuck up" fucking gets me good
He said it's going to be INTERESTING
“Talking loudly on his phone about his dog is loose” fucking kills me for some reason.
ive watched this skit so many times already and it doesn't get old. Everytime weve watched it we laughed as much as the first time seeing it. Incredible! 😂
I was in tears just from him walking into the mall.
1:57 - 2:02 is the funniest thing I have ever seen. It makes me laugh every time. The absurdity of the situation, the voice, the movement, everything is so perfect.
I think theater kids especially love it
“that is HOURS of labor and talent”
This was the most I've laughed at anything ever. I was in pain from the convulsions and my wife was pissed off that I wouldn't stop. I love anything that gets that from me.
The fact that the makeup isn't even good makes it even funnier.
This sketch would have been a riot without the existential unraveling near the end, but that brought the subtle absurdity into a different realm
the stretch of him just breathing punctuated by "there's too much fuckin shit on me" made me KEEL OVER AND DIE
0:41 the way he says "This is going to be SOOOO funny" had me immediately laughing, because you just know shits going to go wrong
He looks like a real life marionette doll from “Team America: World police” 😂😂.
"This is gonna be SSSSo funny"
Both are great, but this season was practically flawless, every sketch warrants laughing out loud.
“Are you going to tell people that I housed Dylan’s burger..”
@@noahobrien5725 "Say you're going to kill the President."
@@applebottomjames wait I wasn't recording. Say it again
I didn’t like the one where they’re on the alien bar but everything else is great
@@aurevoirshoshanna900 really the alien bar is great
This is genuinely the funniest show I've ever seen. Every episode is packed with nothing but gold
This is the hardest I’ve officially laughed in my adult life. This is the moment to beat.
This is about the funniest thing I've ever seen, but it's scary how relatable he is.
Netflix better post the blues brother skit or else I’m going to not want to be around anymore.
When that other dog slammed on the door..
@@gabrielamaya2964 I couldn't breathe lol
This skit and the blues brothers skit had me not being able to breathe. Ya boy was enjoying a couple "vitamins" while watching, so I was feeling nice, and then those two skits sent me over the edge.
This perfectly captures how I used to feel about those old pranks they'd do on like MTV where the make-up made it OBVIOUS that they weren't a real person's face but people would still react like it didn't look like shit 🤣🤣
This absolutely broke me today! Just started watching this & HOLY SHIT. I lost it completely. The pure chaos & discomfort.
