Thanks again, Nathan, these additional four minutes provide the conclusion which was missing from the first upload :-)
As on the topic: I second that. When I started using zoom lenses (M42 mount at the given time) they promised portability. I remember having a 35-105 mm third party lens, but the quality would never live up to fixed focal length lenses. Also, it was the epitome of indecisiveness, cropping was mandatory in most cases. Nowadays I rely on fixed focus length glass that has turned "vintage" meanwhile, and it's rather a liberation than a lack of choice whenever I walk about with only one lens mounted.
My favorite focal lengths are 20 and 35 mm on micro four thirds. The 20 suits pretty much the environmental street and reportage photography genre, while 35 comes into play for portraits. At times I would use a 105 mm macro on bellows and a 210 mm for wildlife photography. All lenses are adapted, with manual focus only and a crop factor of 2, compared to full frame equivalent. Some of these gems are even older than me :-)

Thanks, Olaf! I'm with you 100% that using primes will make you a better photographer. I use zooms but only out of necessity for work when there are times when I need to quickly switch between headshots and group photos.
