    Hi Ianna. I see in a few of the comments that some of these ladies work out and feel they need to wash their hair more often… you’ve mentioned, in other videos, that you work out. Can you share how often you work out, what types of workouts you do and what you do with your hair? Or if you already have a video like this please share that info. TY. You are so encouraging and relatable. Never get tired of listening to you. All the best.

    Hey Ianna, thanks for the tips...my hair is shoulder length, I try to limit my wash days, but living in the Caribbean, Trinidad...it's really challenging, bcuz sometimes it's extremely hot and I sweat a lot on my hairline, I can do a 2 week stretch but not longer. My ends are mostly dry and a bit thin but I try to moisturize as much as I can. Thanks again for your advice. Blessings ❤

    Thanks for keeping your video short and to the point. I will incorporate a few pointers. Also, your living room is gorgeous. It’s funny, tho, you have a couple top hair influencers, if you will, on yt, who have very long, relaxed hair, who wash weekly, and also cowash, and moisturize. I must admit, I do that, and my hair feels good and is healthy (voluntarily confirmed by my hairdresser), and is almost to my bra strap. So, I think it really comes down to knowing your hair, and learning what works and what doesn’t. If I see something isn’t doing it for me, then i would adjust accordingly. I also use premium products in my hair. Appreciate you sharing your tips.

So I have debated much about going natural if nothing changes in the next few years. I say all that to say that you have given me hope. Question, when I started my healthy hair journey in 2009, I remembered the topic lye relaxer vs no lye relaxer… which made me switch to Mizani lye relaxer. And professional hairstylists are always recommending lye relaxer and say no lye is harsh on the hair strands. Since you use the Optimum Anti Breakage no lye relaxer, do you have less dryness and less shedding? I would like to know especially about the shedding. Do you experience a lot of shedding with no lye? Thank you in advance

      Try washing your hair in large loose-ish twists where you can still put your fingers through underneath the twist to get to your scalp. Condition and use your leave-in conditioner in that way as well and let it dry. That way your hair dries stretched yet still clean. (Gently detangle before putting into twists and washing)

      Same here, plus I swim. Swim caps do not keep my hair from getting wet, so I'm having to wash or just rinse my short, relaxed hair about 3-4x per week. I never blow-dry, and usually just use a curl enhancer to get a curly look.

      @IannaYvonne  Рік тому +16

      Hello. I moisturize and seal once a week. I use the Shea moisture manuka honey and yogurt (primary on the length on my hair). I then go over that moisturized hair with the living proof repair and restore leave in to strengthen the hair. Both have protein but are very mild. Both state they can be used daily but I use once weekly. I will follow this up by sealing with Unlay hair oil.
      I have a week in my hair vlog on my channel if your interested. I detail my moisturize and sealing routine, as well as tips for when/ if you go to the salon.
      I recently started using the moroccan oil all in one leaving because my hair was becoming very dry… but only on wash days.
      When I wash I don’t not mositure and seal. I roller set my damp hair and add a small amount of leave in.

      Thanks for sharing. I have been watching you for some time now. Always great practical tips. I grew my hair to bra strap length, but made major problems along the way by extending my relaxers far too long (months), using too many different products including rice water and wore tight hairstyles daily. My hair came completely out and is now incredibly thin. I have very fine and curly hair. I recently saw a hair influencer who gave the best advice EVER....go back to basics and continue doing what made your hair grow in the first place. I have stopped with all of the different hair products and oils. I'm using one great shampoo, conditioner, black and grape seed oils, my heat cap when shampooing my hair every two weeks and a relaxer every 10 to 12 weeks. I recently allowed my stylist to give me a good trim and in 3 weeks, I'm seeing growth, but still thin and breakage in my crown (growing back slowly). I learned my hair is my stress point, so managing unpleasant events is crucial in order to maintain length. The death of my father and job problems were major contributors. Once my hair grows back this time, it will be forever. I'm done with the multiple hair products, it doesn't work for me. My hair thrives on less. Learned the hard way after a 8 year journey. Thanks for the tips. You're appreciated. Dr. Simpson ❤
