I keep my hair tucked away. I only take it down for my relaxers. Flat iron to do a length check. Then for the next 4 months. It goes back in hibernation.
My hair is now bra strap.

I agree with everything especially taking time to detangle the hair when wet since its so fragile. I always experience stylist not taking time to detangle hair properly it can be so frustrating when your trying to grow your hair.

I know... It was so bad one time after taking out a sew-in I had to ask the stylist to let me detangle. This woman was literally trying to tear through my hair to detangle it. That was my last time there 😆 Thank you for watching 💕

I’m guilty of being outright neglectful when my hair is in a protective style LOL 😅😭 on top of skipping scalp massages and deep conditioning day. Didn't know about parting our hair in 4 to wash it.TODAY IS DAY 2 OF MY TAKE OUT OF MY 3 MONTHS PROTECTIVE BRAID.ENDING.
Tried 3 months protective braid.Ending up taking it out on 2nd months.
Lost hair but not as much as I expected. Very matted and was on the 3rd day preparing to cut it down to 2 inches cause it was so knotted.
I'm relaxed and luckily my daughter used a large tooth comb after my attempt at going to bed with cling film over my deep conditioned hair.
Did all my usual but it refused to work.
She said I should have comb out the hair instead of finger combing and pulling hair.
After putting oil, detangling conditioner and shampoo, including aloes.
Torture she really hurt my head and she said my hair really grew and that I should go natural.😥😫
SHE CRAZY 😓😭😢 THEN MY HEAD WOULDN'T BE MINE I WOULDN'T WANT COMB ANY WHERE CLOSE TO MY HEAD.
UNBELIEVABLE BUT TRUE IT'S BEEN A RUDE AWAKENING,
I HAVE NO LOVE FOR NATURAL HAIR.
🤔UUM WHILE TRYING ALL FORMS OF DETANGLING AND PRAYING 😇?
    😇YES
    GOD BLESS ME.
YES HE SENT MY DAUGHTER TO ME AT THAT PRECISE MOMENT. 🤔UUM OTHERWISE KOJAC BALD HEAD WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPETING WITH ME TOMORROW.
I'M SO HAPPY NOW THAT MY HAIR GREW ABD I LOST DONE BUT NOT ALL MY HAIR.
NEXT TIME I'LL ONLY DO IT FOR A MONTH?
BUT WONDERING WHAT IS THE SAFEST PROTECTIVE STYLE TGAT I CAN MAINTAIN WITHOUT IT BECOMING MATTED? 🤔UUM

    • @celestielsigh
      @celestielsigh 3 роки тому +5

Personaly I don't do braids anymore because no matter what I do I get matting. I will only leave a style in for a month at most, that's long enough to give your hair a break and time to grow. I suggest doing just buns in different spots and not touching your hair for several days at a time

Ok soooooo here we go again. If you are in a protective style you are NOT NOT NOT maintaining your hair. What is the point of having long hair if you can never see it or only see it for 4 weeks a year. Of course it will grow while put away if I don't touch my toenails and keep my shoes on they grow out of control too. We need to maintain our hair to know how to maintain our hair. No hate just frustrated with the protective style crutches, it's hogwash. We can grow our hair without putting someone else's in it.

I was natural and had healthy hair b4 i relaxed it and i oil my hair regularly and practice heathy hair habits and i am gentle with my hair. About 2 weeks ago i did a touch up and nothing bad has happened it still feels the same but still sheds. Is this normal? Im afraid it will interfere with my hair journey growth wise . oh and i only use wide tooth combs and sleep in satin bonnet evey night. Please let me know what u suggest thank you💖

9:25 I just started to wash my hair this way in big braids for the past few months! Tryna retain all the growth I can And sometimes when I was a small girl I washed this way !
But being back in this hair journey after messing up the last time! I have so much more knowledge now,
I remember I use to think my hair grew more if it was dirty! But I learned here on UA-cam a clean healthy scalp promotes hair growth cause the pores aren't clogged! N we learn more n more as time go on! ✨😊❤️👑💯 but I have a long way to catch up cause after I messed up my hair not detangling it after small braids with buildup I had lost about 18inches of hair
so then my hair was thin n patchy! 😔 Then I dreaded right after for 5years n I just detangled them , so my hair is thin again from just lock detangling alone on top of that now😮‍💨😮‍💨🥱
But I'm patient this time so it can thicken back up .
and I knew how! and knew to get those knots out before washing it, I don't know what I was thinking,,,it sure wasn't patients tho! But I'm still thankful for then and now's experience's..I use to b really mad thinking about it.
    Until I looked at it as a positive,,to always take my time😊👌🏾........ Or else......u gone b bald😂💯😊❤️❤️
