Interesting about the ends of hair! I’ll stop doing that I trimmed my ends last night because I never usually do so. I also put oil on the ends and rubbed them in. I relax my hair only two times a year every 5-6 months. Love your tips ❤ I also take collagen that helps everyday fast growth too especially with 4c hair
I restarted my healthy haircare journey 20 months ago. My hair has grown from shoulder length to past my waist and it is healthier than it has ever been. I use mostly homemade organic Ayurvedic haircare products. I stopped using grease in my hair 30 years ago. I Texlax my hair by under processing the new growth 3 times per year. And I never use direct heat on my hair. I keep protected in a bun, and when I am home it is always in a satin bonnet.
HOLD AWN!! Texlaxed?? Girl you have opened my eyes fr because I never knew this was a thing. I have been going back-and-forth about going back to being relaxed versus staying natural because I love my curls, but at the same time it’s really hard to style my 3c hair and but I don’t necessarily want my hair bone straight. What was your starting hair type before the texlax and what was your hair type after? Which one did you use? Did you get it done professionally or at home?
Wash and deep condition every week. Apply leave ins, air dry, then moisturize n seal. During the week hair is in a bun. Take in down nightly to moisturize n seal then back n a bun
@@IannaYvonne Thank you for replying! I think I follow most of your tips but i had no idea blue magic type oil was a no no! Do you have any advice on the shedding i imagine my hairs was already shedding when i was natural but it just seems more apparent now.
Thanks for your tips! I've been thinking I don't need to wash my hair as often, as it started to feel drying more so. The hair grease feels weighty, but I have been using the oils!! We all have to find what works for us individually!!
Love your videos, but can’t nobody tell not to use hair grease. My hair was it’s healthiest, longest and most hydrated when I used hair grease (from a little girl). Once I started listening to the “grease is not good for your hair” folks, hair was not the same.
Thanks for watching hun!!! So happy you are enjoying the videos ❤️ But I do want to explain about the grease. Typically if you are not relaxed, grease is less harmful. It’s an amazing barrier/ sealant locking in moisture. Most likely your natural hair thrived with grease and it did not affect your scalp because you were a child and produces less oil naturally. ( I used to rub Vaseline on my face as a child as well in the winter. As an adult, I would be covered in acne and clogged pores because I produce much more oil now than when I was pubescent. The same is true for the skin of your scalp as we age) Regardless I always tell folks… if it’s working for you don’t change a thing. Everyone is different and so of course different products work for some and not others. Stay bless sis ❤️
Hi thanks for sharing, I have a question I’ve been using Olive oil relaxer and wanted to know if you can do a video based on all the news in regarding cancer linked to relaxers. Do you recommend a relaxer that doesn’t have certain ingredients that it is linked to this. Haven’t seen any relax UA-camrs talk about it
Hi I have question once I do my perm wash it and stuff can I put hair growth oil thanks or what can I put in my hair can I put leave in conditioner Thanks❤
Kept your hair in protective style for a year?😮 was it box braids ? Or cornrows? And it doesn't cause breakage If your hair is in a protective style for so long? And how do I know my hair is safe to be put in a protective style?
Hello. I’ve gone 6 months at a time. Then remove and reapply. If you are suffering from hair thinning, I wouldn’t recommend. Protective styles can make thinning worse. No breakage during my take - down. (I have a video detailing my takedown technique on my channel if you’re interested ). I usually do jumbo/ large knotless braid because it’s less tension on the scalp. Thank you for watching. Hope that helped 💕
Hi do you recommend getting knotless braids on relaxed hair? I still want to continue my relaxers but I was curious about getting braids (knotless) in between?
Iana, I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and I've enjoyed each and every one of them I got a horrible perm about a year ago from my stylist who I've been going to for over 20 years,my hair started it coming out in droves it's left me very depressed, I'm at my wits end. I'm wearing a couple of tracks in my hair now which doesn't even look normal or natural Other than a wig what would be a good protective style for me moving forward?
Thank you for these great tips. Would love to know what you did to get your scalp in order? I’m struggling with my scalp and can’t figure out why, it’s almost always itchy and irritated.
Things that worked for me are 1. Always oiling my scalp with light oils (jojoba, grapeseed, rosemary, coffee extract) before I wash it. 2. Using a dandruff shampoo or scalp scrub 2-3 times a month, and 3. Using a gentle conditioner ON my scalp, because if you have eczema or dry skin, you would moisturize it, so why wouldn’t you moisturize dry scalp?
@@itstawanza Thanks, will definitely try those suggestions. My only issue is how dry and tangly dandruff shampoos leave my hair plus the need to have to use them more than once a week.
Hello!! Why?? Do you find it weighs down your hair?? Its pretty lightweight but if you have fine hair you can decrease the amount of use per week. Maybe 2x weekly and go from there. Also you can apply to the palm of your hand and use you fingers to apply to the scalp. That way you can control the amount that you are applying. I do this when my hair is freshly styled with curls etc. this may help. Let me know how it goes. Happy to help if I can 💕

When you say wash your hair every 2 weeks do you mean shampooing it every 2 weeks? Or does wetting it in the shower without shampooing also count as washing? I am a muslimah and in Islam it is required to shower each time after sexual intercourse (shampoo isn't needed but hair needs to be washed with water) , so I wonder how this will affect my relaxed hair since I am newly starting my relaxed hair journey
Hey! Thank you and thanks for watching ❤️ Alopecia is an umbrella term that has many different types and causes. Many causes involve inflammatory responses and are autoimmune in nature. Some forms are reversible- such as traction alopecia if dealt with early on. Scalp massage and rosemary oils are the best all natural remedies. A dermatologist may prescribe steroids topicals if the alopecia is due to inflammation. They will definitely recommend discontinuing the use of relaxers. Otherwise there is not many treatment option available. Some people opt for hair transplant with traction alopecia, but consulting with a dermatologist is my best recommendation if all natural remedies are not working. Hope that helps. 💕
